Five Waterfalls Line The Trails At The Butterfly Gardens And Huummingbird Gallery, La Paz Waterfall Gardens

City Escapes -San Jose, Poas Volcano, Irazu Volcano, La Paz Waterfall, San Jose and surrounding valleys
As you wander the trails of The Waterfall Gardens your senses will delight at the five waterfalls that line the trail. Originally, the only way one could view the falls was by literally hanging over the side of the mountain, looking through trees and ferns, not very inviting for picture taking. With the construction of Waterfall Gardens, guests are afforded views from platforms above, below and in front of the falls for great photo opportunities.

This is the summit area of Poas Volcano, only about an hours drive from the capital city of San Jose. The summit contains a number of explosion craters such as this one, and one of them contains a lake. The crater in this photo contains a small turquoi se lake of sulfurous steaming water. Poas is one of the main tourist attractions for Costa Rica. There are very nice parking and observation areas.
