MIAMI TO LIBERIA AMERICAN AIRLINES ANNOUNCES THEY WILL FLY TO LIBERIA, COSTA RICA FROM MIAMI THREE TIMES WEEKLY: AA Miami to LIBERIA service begins Jan 31, 2004 with 3 flights a week. Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday only. One flight a day departing MIAMI (MIA) at 10:15 AM and arriving in LIBERIA (LIR) at 12:38 PM and returning from LIBERIA at 1:45 PM and arriving back in MIAMI at 5:34 PM. The following is reprinted from La Nacion, the newspaper of Costa Rica US carrier American Airlines will open a new route to Costa Rica January 31st, 2004, namely a non-stop flight between Liberia, in Guanacaste using 737-800 aircraft, and Miami. American will have three weekly flights that will compete with the current non-stop five flights a week operated by Delta between Liberia and Atlanta. In addition, the Minister of Tourism, Rodrigo Castro, announced that two other US airlines American West and US Airways are to start operations in Costa Rica in the near future. Moreover, Minister Castro pointed out, air links with Europe are to be further strengthened by Air Lauda flights between Milan, Italy, and Costa Rica.
