DAILY WEATHER REPORT
from Pitsford Hall Weather Station
released at 07:51 AM on Wednesday, 05 December 2007
General Situation across the United Kingdom
With low pressure immediately to the north-west of the British Isles, a succession of frontal system will continue to work in off the Atlantic through the coming week giving a very unsettled spell of weather.
The Local Area Forecast for Northamptonshire
A wet start to the day across Northamptonshire with a moderate occasionally fresh south or south-westerly wind. We should see the rain clearing to showers a little bit later and some spells of sunshine could even break through the cloud by the afternoon. As the rain clears the wind will tend to veer westerly, but will remain moderate. It will be mild today with the brisk wind with highs climbing to around 13C, but overnight lows will fall to around 7C behind the cold front.
The Outlook for the next few days
There will be outbreaks of rain pretty much from the word go tomorrow, these being light at first but becoming heavier later. Unlike today, the rain will probably be set in for the day with the wind continuing as a moderate occasionally fresh westerly. Once again though it will be mild for the time of year with highs reaching 13C. Rain is likely to continue overnight and into Friday with the wind veering north-westerly. Eventually, the rain should clear by Friday afternoon leaving some sunny spells before night-fall. Yet more rain will be waiting in the wings for Saturday as low pressure tracks across the southern half of the UK.
