DAILY WEATHER REPORT
from Pitsford Hall Weather Station
released at 07:45 AM on Monday, 10 December 2007
General Situation across the United Kingdom
Low pressure over the Netherlands is still affecting the eastern half of the UK, but this low will continue to fill as a ridge of high pressure builds in from the west. Other than frontal systems affecting the far north-west, this high will remain fairly stationary throughout the coming week.
The Local Area Forecast for Northamptonshire
Outbreaks of mainly light rain will continue to affect the county this morning, although as we work towards the afternoon we are likely to see drier and brighter weather developing, in fact the day could very well end with some good spells of sunshine. The winds, fresh at the moment from the north, will tend to ease gradually through the day but maintain the same northerly direction. Consequently, it will be a cold day with temperatures not climbing much above 6C and with clear skies this evening a widespread frost is expected with lows falling to -2C.
The Outlook for the next few days
A chilly start to the day tomorrow, but the day will stay fine and we can look forward to some good spells of sunshine and very winds mainly from the north-west. Highs again will reach 6C with another frost overnight as lows fall to -1C. Another fine day on Wednesday, although rather cloudy at times as weather fronts work into the west. However, it will stay dry with highs once more reaching 6C. The cloud may stave off a frost overnight with lows of 2C. A touch milder on Thursday with winds coming in from the south. Again it will be fine with spells of sunshine. Highs of 7C falling overnight to 3C.
