I don't like SCAMS, do you?


Back in 2003 when I've started to publish this ezine my
intentions were very clear: to provide to the advertisers
a source of information regarding the ezine ad co-ops.

What ad co-op has decreased the prices or what ad co-op
has a sale, you know, this kind of useful information.

In order to be able to provide such information, every
week I visited and monitorized the changes done by
the ad co-ops.

Today, after 5 years, I know these co-ops history as if
they are my own co-ops.

That's great, isn't it?

But there is a problem ...

All thse years I've seen also the ... not so nice things that
happened ...

No, I am not talking about the small errors anyone
makes from time to time in her or his life.

For example, it happened to see that a certain ad co-op
owner added by mistake a zero to the total number of
subscribers. Well, this was very misleading. I warned
my subscribers about it and indeed after a few days
that owner noticed it too and corrected the mistake.
It was just a mistake. A dangerous one (for the buyers)
but still an inocent mistake.

I am still promoting even today that ad co-op.

People make mistakes, I am making mistakes, YOU
are making mistakes. This is how WE are ...

However ... when I notice that some people are
scamming their customers each and every day ...
I cannot stop myself and I write. I write and warn my
friends and subscribers.

I really don't like to do this - to talk about negative things
that happen, but I cannot keep the silence, let you fall
in traps and lose your money.

The original intent of the newsletter is somehow diverted.

Instead of providing you useful and positive news, the
last issues of Ad Co-ops News were about ad co-ops
I do not recommend you.

One month ago I really wondered if it's not better to stop
publishing this ezine. I don't like scandals and scandal
publications ...

But then I've asked myself, "Who will benefit if I stop it?"

My subscribers? No. Me? No. The scammers ...

And then I decided to continue and post online on my blog
all the proofs regarding those "nice" persons who are stealing
from their customers.

Yes, I used the proper word: stealing. When you cash customers'
money and promise them to publish their ads in ezines that
are no longer published since many years ago ... I don't know
how you call it, but I am calling this a STEAL.

If I continue to publish, everybody will benefit. Even the
scammers may get some benefits. If they read the posts
... and see that their actions are public ... maybe they will
stop them and act fair. Maybe ...

That's all for today. All I want to add is "Take care!"
and be sure not to miss next week's issue.

I will reveal ... maybe the biggest scam from this ad co-op
world.

An ad co-op who is still in business and sells advertising
space ... an ad co-op whose owner never updated anything
on its website since many years ago (except fo some prices,
from time to time) ... an ad co-op that still lists TENS of ezines
no longer published ... an ad co-op still having in place
an affiliate program despite the fact that all the traffic
generated by the affiliates is diverted since almost 2 months
ago to ANOTHER website the owner runs ...

This ad co-op has of course a name, a quite known one,
and you'll find it next week.

And ... I do apologize for providing you only BAD news.

I hope that together we will spread the word and soon get
out of the market the scammers or even better ... FORCE
them to treat a customer how a customer HAS to be treated.

This co-op is quite popular and contains a very nice
and big list of ezines. Too bad that is not updated
and contains also ezines that are no longer published
since more than one year ... while at least one ezine
that is active and receives subscribers from HBA ...
is not listed at all!

The total number of subscribers is not very clear: in one
place is 2,043,000, then 2,100,000, in another place is
2,130,285 and the page listing the ezines shows 1,900,000+
Anyway, the price is $29.99
