SICK|IVP: Ranger and Ruler - High End 3D Camera Systems for Machine Vision

SICK continues to move vision into the next dimension by offering a wider range of solutions for machine vision, ranging from innovative vision sensors to the fastest 3D cameras on the market. The Ranger and Ruler Cameras are the latest vision innovations offered by SICK. The Ranger is the fastest camera in the world for three-dimensional vision inspections - up to 35,000 profiles per second. And, patented MultiScan technology allows one camera to do even more at one time, saving time and money. The Ruler offers unbelievable speed, and with its robust IP 65 housing, the Ruler is able to handle applications in harsher environments, including distribution centers and automotive inspections. Providing the third dimension adds height to measurement data, which can be critical when correctly classifying an object. The Ranger and Ruler are ideal for in-line inspection machines used in the Electronic, Semiconductor, Wood, Robot Vision, Plastic, Rubber and Food industries.

Both the Ranger and Ruler are streaming devices, providing high-speed profiles for integration using C++ or .Net.

SICK, Inc.: IME Series Inductive Sensors - Economical. Efficient. Engineered.

SICK, Inc has unveiled the IME series of inductive sensors, bringing to the market an unprecedented level of precision in a low-cost package.

What seperates these sensors from the competition is the application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology inside. This technology allows SICK to test, program, and identify the characteristics of each sensor at the end of the manufacturing process. This ensures the accuracy and precision of every sensor coming off the line. Final sensor configuration is set at this stage in manufacturing, including switching point, hysteresis, and other parameters (NO/NC, PNP/NPN, etc). This flexibility allows for high manufacturing volumes and customization at a cost savings to the user.

In addition to the programming flexibility, the ASIC technology provides for a high precision switching distance. Most inductive sensors have a switching distance tolerance of 10% (of Sn). With the ASIC technology, and programming at the end of the manufacturing line, the switching distance tolerance of the IME Series is a low 1% (of Sn).
