ANTICHRISTS IN OUR MIDST

Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the end of the world has come. These people left our churches because they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left us, it proved that they do not belong with us. ??“ 1 John 2:18-19 (NLT)

            From the very beginning the church has had to contend with those that are against Christ. The rapidity with which the antichrist movement grew and has continued to grow is quite astounding. The fear is not of one Antichrist, but of numerous antichrists who have set themselves up as the enemies of Jesus by trying to infiltrate the churches with a watered down or perverted version of who Jesus is. Through Gnosticism, Universalism, and many other ???isms??? the church has found itself under attack.  The antichrists that have promoted these views find themselves with a receptive audience wherever there are itching ears.

            As Christ followers we must always remember that Jesus is the Son of God ??“ Deity in human flesh, and that He is nothing less, nor nothing more, than God Himself. Our Savior is not one that we come against, but one that we join with, in overcoming this dark world and its even darker future. Praise God that we are pro-Christ, rather than anti-Christ, and that we can know with bold assurance that Jesus will rule for all of eternity.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord, keep my eyes and ears alert to all who would oppose You and attack the faith.
