NO SHAME AT HIS COMING

And now, dear children, continue to live in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. Since we know that God is always right, we also know that all who do what is right are his children. ??“ 1 John 2:28-29 (NLT)

            Have you ever been doing something that you knew you shouldn??™t and been caught in the act? Almost all of us experience this as children, but sometimes it happens to us as adults too.  Depending on what behavior we??™re engaging in, we might feel embarrassment or shame. If someone catches us in a lie, or finds out that we??™ve been acting in ways unbecoming to a Christian, the guilt sets in and we walk away not knowing how to make up for our bad behavior.

            There is coming a time when Jesus will return for His church. When that time comes, what will Jesus find us doing? Will we be able to face Him in confidence, knowing that we??™re living for Him, or will we shrink back in fear? What if Jesus came back at the moment you are reading this? What would your reaction be? To those who are living lives that are faithful to Him, there is no reason to fear. For we have the courage that comes from knowing that our relationship with God is strong and that we are living out His will in our daily experience.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Lord, I look forward to Your coming. Let me live as one that knows it could happen at any time.
