Florida Ducks Unlimited Volunteer Appreciation Day

Florida Ducks Unlimited Volunteers

Florida Ducks Unlimited is proud to announce the first ever volunteer appreciation day on Saturday February 4th, 2006!! All current DU volunteers are welcome! This event is like no other!! Please come out and join us on this special day as we celebrate YOU and all the hard work you do on behalf of Ducks Unlimited.

Most of you may have already received a post card invitation to the event and you may have seen the information in the latest DU magazine. If not, please mark your calendar for a day that is guaranteed to be a good time. Additional and more detailed invitations are going out this week, so be looking for this info also. You can find further information at http://www.ducks.org/volunteer/

There will be two locations for these events in Florida , and you are free to attend any one you want. The special part of this day is that you don't have to do any work to plan a DU event...and the best part is that it is FREE!! There will be almost 100 of these events going on at the same time throughout the country.

Some of the special items on tap for this day are as follows:

  • A National Video Streaming Program that starts at 2 :00 p.m. (basically a live DSL/internet broadcast from National Headquarters) will be broadcast nationwide, so volunteers across the country will be linked at the same time.

  • All 100 locations will be linked via satellite and will be able to watch a live presentation on a big screen projector, led by our National President Dr. Jim Hulbert.

  • At some point during the video presentation, DU Headquarters will begin a national raffle drawing to include:

    • 50 + guns

    • War Eagle Boat/Trailer

    • Yamaha Grizzly 4-wheeler

    • Hunting with the DU TV Show Hosts (Air & Lodging)

    • Plus MUCH, MUCH MORE

All you have to do to be eligible to win these prizes is to be present at this event !!
All prizes will be awarded to volunteers in appreciation for all the hard work YOU put into making DU the great organization it is.

There will be NEW special DU merchandise available that has NEVER been seen before!!

Come out to talk to your District Chairman and Regional Director!! Meet with other committees to trade ideas and swap stories from the marsh.

Food and beverages will be provided...and the cost to you to attend is NOTHING!!

Doors will open, registration will begin, and food will be available beginning at 12:30 pm . The live feed from DU Headquarters begins at 2pm, so please plan to arrive early. The Video feed will end at 4pm after all raffle prizes are given away and we will wrap up the day by 5:00 to give you plenty of time to travel back home.

Additional activities:

  • DU store featuring the following items: Volunteer Portfolios, Volunteer Tumblers, Volunteer Shirts and more.

  • Vote for your favorite volunteer hat for next years chapters. We'll have Volunteer Hat Samples and Ballots on hand for you to cast your vote!!!

  • A Merchandise Survey: submit your cards to give your opinion on new up and coming event merchandise.

  • A silent auction featuring new merchandise as well as some of our most popular current items and of course, what DU event would be complete without a gun raffle!

  • Look for this to be a very special raffle!

Please send this email on to other volunteers on your committees or other potential new volunteers. Also, bring anyone with you who may be a potential member of your committee in the future. Your families are also welcome. You must be present to win!

All we ask is that you let us know you are coming so we can have enough food for everyone.
