The First Christmas Tree (with my
wishes)
Dr. James Denison, Pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church in
Dallas, Texas, has written a series of essays about the traditions of
Christmas and how to use them to transform the coming holidays into holy

memories involve a tree in the living room, shedding its needles on the
shag carpet.? When you think about
it, a tree inside a house is an odd idea.?
(And shag carpet is an even odder invention.)? What would Martians think of us?? Why do we do such a thing each
year??

Luther was walking in the Black Forest toward his home one clear
evening.? The great reformer looked
around and was struck by the beauty of the stars shining through the
trees.? Determined that his family
would share this beauty with him, he decided to cut down a small tree and
bring it home.?
