SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE
|
As the summer gets closer, we are inspired to get outdoors and come out from
hibernation. Especially for us Northerners in Canada, spring is a welcome season and
summer is even better.
During the summer it's easy to be active but it's also
a time of BBQ's and social events. |
Soon you will be seeing county fairs, company picnics, family reunion picnics, and a
host of other summer social events. It's easy to go to such an event and start eating
without awareness and before you know it, you're home belly aching.
Before you go, set a goal and create a plan. Bring extra healthy snacks along
so you don't get tempted by the table filled with unhealthy snacks which will go straight
to your thighs or butt or other unwelcome areas.
Summer is a time when people let their guards down as well. Accountability falls by
the wayside. Just because it's summer is not a good reason to set aside your goals or
to stop getting support for your weight loss goals. Its a time when you should be active
and make the most of the nice weather. Don't forget to surround yourself with support of
people who help you promote your weight loss goals.
How to keep on track all summer:
1. Set aside one block of time a week when you will do a self check and make sure your
on track. Look at your goals, set new ones for the upcoming week. Start your own
Personal Journal to
monitor and track your progress each week. Studies show both support and journalling
strengthen your weight loss success.
2. Look into all the summer deals at your local health club. The gyms slow down to a
crawl with memberships during the summer cause everyone wants to be outdoors so
they put flyers galore out in your mail. Some offer summer discounts. Look into it and
use those deals to save some money. Watch the fine line agreements
though!
3. Be accountable. Whether you have someone you can report to or come online and
find support. Accountability will keep you on track when you know you are
responsible for your own choices.

anorexia, binging, purging and so on but perhaps not with the term Body Dysmorphic

themselves facing.
Body Dysmorphic Disorder is considered to be a mental disorder. It is an extreme
disturbance of body image. It is generally a diagnosis giving to people who are
