Hello Subscriber,
I just finished a new article for my blog at MommyRevenue.com and thought it would be helpful for those with new sites and blogs. ================
Launching a new site can be a chore…what should you do first?
After each blog or website that I create one of my first concerns is getting some traffic to my new site. After all, without website traffic there is no life or real purpose for my new creation.
I Don’t Waste my Time…
It was once believed that we needed to take time to submit and resubmit our sites to the search engines frequently. Now, after learning much about internet marketing, I never waste a moment on submitting to search engines.
I actually start submitting to directories with “fair” to “good”
page ranks. The search engines will automatically pick your sites up when crawling the directories for new additions. And I rarely use reciprocal linking unless its for a good cause such as partnering with another networking partner. The purpose here is to mainly focus on quality “backlinks”…so in simple terms, quality is much better than quantity when is comes to links.
Will website directory submission increase your traffic?
Not necessarily. For instance, if you just submit your new blog to a bunch of blog directories and just sit back and wait. You’re going to be gazing at your website statistics for a long time and be quite disappointed. But, there’s more value than meets the eye here…
By submitting to directories, you are investing in the future of your
blog or website. Your page rank will rise and your site will gain more clout in the search engines. You will also pave the way to gaining higher ranks for certain keywords once your site has a higher page rank. And, unlike submitting to classified ads (which rarely produces any results), your directory submission are usually permanent listings. You will have to check with each directory. Paid listings on some directories require yearly renewal fees.
A couple of resources to help you:
www.directorycritic.com - offers a very large list of directories that you can manually submit to. You can find many free ones and low cost ones. This will take some time, but well worth it.
An offer with much less work here…
I have obtained rights to directorysubmitter.com’s
software. I do not use their reciprocal linking software that comes with it, but I certainly do use the directory submitter tool.
I first create a profile for the site I’m going to submit by placing the title, URL, description and keywords. Then, I click on each directory link and it takes me to the site and automatically fills in the information that I have set. **This is necessary because many directories now use the “captcha” utility and a human being must be present to fill in the code and submit.
Overall product review…
I can say that I am so pleased to be saving so much time and energy. Many of the directories are free, some are very low cost (low as $2.99). There are 2,700 directories in the database. But, to be honest, websites come and go like
the wind sometimes…and so a few of the directories no longer exist. I usually only bother submitting to the directories with a pagerank of 3 or higher…unless it’s a directory in a specific niche that’s related to my blog or website.
Overall, this is a really good value…and will save you tons of work on manually typing in all your information and finding each directory’s submission form on each site. Meeting with the terms, you have resell rights and can also offer it in a membership site of at least $27 dollars.
