ISC wants to welcome all international students to the ASU campus and to the Phoenix area.  We welcome you to participate in any or all of our activities!

The ISC table will be on the Cady Mall, outside Memorial Union, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday (except holidays).  Come by if you need help of any kind.  This is also a place to get information, practice speaking English, get acquainted with others, and to sign-up for ISC activities.

ACTIVITIES

Thanksgiving Dinner with an American Family
Thursday, November 24
Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday for Americans, and on  that day everyone meets with family and friends for a huge dinner (usually turkey!).  After dinner is spent just relaxing, talking, playing games, or watching football on TV.  The point of Thanksgiving is to be thankful to God for all He has given to us.

If you would like to have Thanksgiving Dinner with an American Family, send an email to thanksgivingdinner05@yahoo.com with the following information:

1. Your Name
2. Country
3. Phone number
4. email address
5. any food restrictions you have (most families will serve turkey with many side dishes, but others vary that menu)
6. whether you need transportation
7. if you have one or two friends who want to go with you to the same home, include their names and email addresses

There will be a limited number of families, so don't wait to sign-up.

Christmas Progressive Dinner
Saturday, December 3
NOTE THE DIFFERENT MEETING PLACE:  The Parking lot of the ASU Visitors' Center at the corner of Rural and Apache (the building with the gold dome). Meet there at 5pm.

We will divide into 8 small groups and go to 8 different American homes for the main part of the meal.  You will meet several American families, see some of their Christmas decorations, and hear how  they celebrate Christmas.  Then we will all gather at one home to have cookies and sing Christmas songs.  To close the evening, we will tell the tree story of Christmas:  the birth of Jesus, and why that is so important to the world.

We will return to ASU about 10:30 PM.  Please join us for this favorite annual event!  This is a free event, and your are welcome to bring other internationals who may not get our ISC email.  However, it would help us to plan if you sign-up at the ISC table or email us to let us know how many are coming.  See you December 3!!!

Graduation Dinner

Friday, December 16
We will meet at the Muse parking lot at 7 PM and go out to eat at a restaurant to be chosen by our graduates.  Join us to help them celebrate.   Cost will be $12-15 per person.  This is for everyone, not just the graduates.  If you are graduating, please let us know!
