This is an excerpt of a recent speech reported in the Israeli newspaper Maariv on July 31, 2006. It was made by Ehud Ohlmert, the Israeli Prime Minister. Ohlmert has no interest in winning a PR war with anyone as thousands of years of institutionalized anti-Semitism takes that a non-starter. Proof of that is Mel Gibson’s recent anti-Semitic tirade. Rather, this speech is line drawn in the sand and one side is the survival of the Jewish people and their nation. On the other is a clear warning to the whole world. As you draw your own conclusions keep this in mind. Regardless whether or not you not agree with the sentiment of this speech, it does represent the fire that is stoking Israel’s determination to win.
