"I Believe in You!"
A message of Hope, stories from the
road.
By Bob Perks
*************************************************
Hello, my friend!
First of all...to all my friends in the
Philippines...I pray that
you are safe. Please write to tell me so. "I'll see
you in my prayers!"
Gifts. We give and humbly receive them. But
you are a gift in someone's life.
When one of my "friends I've never met"
decides
to either buy one of my products or donate, I often times
read a note that says, "This isn't much..."
I always shake my head and wonder..."Do they know that
the true value of the gift is not measured in
currency. It is
the act of having given anything at all that holds the
most
value."
And so today I write about the most valuable gift to give
and
acknowledge in someone else.
Love always and all ways...
Bob and Marianne

Today's Message:
"What a gift..."
by Bob Perks
It is that time of year when giving is on our minds.
Giving
a present to someone you love. A well thought out
attempt
to show how very much you care.
We give our time to those who need us there. Time,
is the valuable
thing, and yet, you cannot measure it in dollars and
cents.
We give money to those who do the work of God's care
takers of the
needy in the world. We help them to do what they do
best.
I believe that I get many gifts each day and always at
least one
person whom God has sent to touch my life. It
reminds me in a
special way that we are all connected, we worldly
travelers, making
our way through life.
Yesterday I received one of those "gifts." An email
arrived to tell
me that someone commented on the KSolo website about a
song I
had done there.
Although I have not been singing as much lately, I thought
I'd check it
out.
A visitor wrote this simple line commenting on one of my
songs:
"I just heard you sing "singin' in the rain" and you
even had my
kids up and dancing, what a great
song."
I smiled when I read it. I thought about all the
things I try to do
to "touch the world one person at a time." But this
was special.
I made her kids get up and dance. Kids
dancing! In a rare and
beautiful moment I touch the future. My attempt at
singing a song
that gives me "happy feet" actually made the children
dance.
I had to tell this person what they had done for me that
day.
I replied...
"What a gift you have given me today! To think that I
had your
children dancing makes me very happy. I, my wife and
one of my
children were in Universal Studios park in Florida
when it
started to rain. Immediately they began playing that
song.
Right in the open, in front of all the visitors, I
started dancing.
I don't dance well, but that song makes my heart
dance.
Of course my son was embarrassed. Not the first time.
So,
knowing I made your children dance...What a gift you
have given me today."
It got me thinking. Every person who comes into my
life gives
me a gift. It is not this one time of the year
that I get such
special gifts. They need not be a word of praise or
the
sharing of great wisdom.
The gift I get I must choose to see. I wonder then,
how many gifts
I have let pass me by without acknowledging?
Imagine then, hearing someone say..."You are my gift for
today."
You, all wrapped up in God's love and created to be a gift
to many.
You, touching one's life, just by being
yourself.
I would guess then, if we could try to see the value in
another person,
we would begin to see the value in ourselves.
Be the gift you want to receive.
Tell someone, "What a gift you have given me
today!"
If you would like to hear my
songs:

RE: "To see the light"
Hi Bob,
Just to say I enjoyed your piece. regards, Solomon. Dear Bob~
My friends and family always remark how I am always
seeking/looking
for more light. Even before my vision challenges, I
always wanted more light.
When I find myself sensing fear, I constantly call out to my
angels.
I know they are there, full of light. Some days, they
get called on a lot!! :)
Thank you, again, dear friend for a heart-touching
story~
Lots of love, LIGHT, and blessings~Mama T
Bob,
That's precisely where I am right now Bob, the end of my
rope as I face possible eviction in 10 days because I have
been unemployed for almost three years and am unable to
pay this month's rent. I recently began several
home-based
businesses but so far they have not produced positive cash
flow.

Good Morning Bob Perks,
I happened to notice the column 'To See The Light' is repeated
today, from yesterday. I thought about the reference to light
and
reminded myself of the 'light of the mystics' Ernest Holmes
(founder of Science of Mind) referred to in his
writings.
On page 212, chapter 11, of The Essential Ernest
Holmes,
Holmes says in this chapter, 'Untapped Powers in the
Self':
... The only light there is the Light
Eternal.
Very frequently I sit down all alone for two hours and
listen
to the silence and it speaks, and look into the
darkness and it
turns light--it is there and there is no question about
it. God is
warmth, Spirit is colorful, the Universe is filled with
light. A voice
speaks from everything--running brooks, stones and trees,
animals and moon and stars, deserts and stillness. And you
can listen to the stillness until it speaks to
you.
Back of us the Infinite searches, finding manifestation
through us,
as us, and all that we are. It is what we are and we
should never
deny it. When we surrender to It we are not surrendering
to a
foreign agent, but we acquiescing consciously to
a Divine host,
a celestial visitor, a universal
individualization.
And so it goes that after re-reading this, along with the
synchronicity
your column provides me, I surrender but find myself still
adrift
with no lighted path that I am to walk; nor a still small
voice that
speaks to my ears or my heart. Interviews come and go as
I search for my niche; a place where I might participate
in the
work there, a place whereby I might contribute--but it is a
deadly quiet I encounter hours, then days after the
interview,
that allows no phone to ring to tell me 'I have the
job'.
I invite the light in and yet it does not appear to align with
me.
Our memories fade from present tense
To nestle in a past where light has dimmed
On water’s floor the murkiness
Obscures the taper, snuffs the flame
The love we hold dearly unto our
breast
Warms the heart encased in flesh
Reveals the closeness as real as day
Remote is the night but a heartbeat away
Deep in our minds remain events
Priceless treasures crystallize into
excellence
Concealed below in waters well stored
Truth and clarity await judgment’s accord
With unfair swiftness the bleakness
descends
Upon the crown and brow and gut
Unable to bargain or make amends
Transfixed upon the spot the dark night comes
Compelled as we are to accept
condemnation
From judges and those deigned our peers
We rise beyond the world’s gross
neglect
And inherit the realm’s renown sincere
Delve deep and declare these belongings of
soul
Imagined with sight now true
To meet the light within the night
Is to see the light anew
