Hello, my Friend!
Oh, boy, oh boy...Friday is near. I can smell the
weekend approaching
and with it grilling, chilling and thrilling to the sounds
of summer.
My best to you always,
Bob and Marianne

Today's message:
"Step out"
by Bob Perks
"I really love this," I said. "Once you get use to it, you
just learn to trust."
There it was. I was talking about something else
completely, but when I said those words
I heard a different answer.
We have a state law that traffic is supposed to yield to
pedestrians in a cross walk.
Okay, it may be a law, but I never did it any where else
before. It took some getting
used to, but I finally did it.
In the town of Honesdale, Pa., signs are clearly posted
that pedestrians have the right of way.
Once you step off of the curb, the traffic should
stop.
"Should" is the key word here. All the locals
do. The out of town people and in particular the out of
state people drive right by until they spend some time
here.
It doesn't take long to discover how wonderful this
is. Courtesy is the way in this small town.
But there is also a hazard in doing this.
I found myself stepping into traffic in another town and
nearly got hit. Yes, it is a law, but I would
guess most places don't enforce it.
So, I had to learn that I can step out, but I had to be
careful.
So, what did I really hear when I said, "I really love this. Once you get use to
it, you just learn to
trust."?
Faith. No, I'm not saying God will always stop the
cars when I step out into a street. But once you
understand faith means, as the saying goes, "Knowing there
is an ocean because you have seen a brook."
Then you learn to trust that as long as "God is in
it, you can step out in faith to begin it."
Get steppin!
"I believe in you!"

"I Wish You enough!"
© 2001 Bob Perks I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye." |
