"I Believe in You!"
A message of Hope, stories from the
road.

Hello, my friend!
I can't stop smiling! My heart is beating 240!
You are BEAUTIFUL! I am so very overwhelmed! I have been writing for
people, but only saw names and email addresses. It was unreal until I
asked for pictures. You are gorgeous in every way!
I sat there tonight looking at those pictures and felt
like it was Christmas. You are real and so very diverse. Young, old,
men, boys, ladies, girls, families, singles, dogs and cats, too.
Oh, my what a incredible honor and privilege it is for me
to meet you.
You take my breath away!
Our love...always and all ways!

Today's Message:
"Something I said?"
By Bob Perks
I pass hundreds of people everyday. I see their
faces for a moment and they move on. Nothing particular lingers in my
mind.
But when I stop and say "hello!" it's different. I
permit myself to be exposed to someone else by acknowledging their
existence.
I didn't just pass him by.
"Was it something I said?"
Could it be that we need to speak in order to
connect?
But would you speak to me? Seriously. If we
were passing by each other on the street, would you say something to me?
Not now because you've come to know me. I mean if you and I had never met
before, even on the internet, would you say a word to touch my heart?
Would you, say "hello!" and break the silence of the awkward moment? Would
you at least acknowledge me with a smile?
Why do I ask this?
You see, until just yesterday I had no faces to connect
with. Until I announced the "Friends I've never met" photo album, each and
every one of you were just email addresses. Some with names, most with
simple letters or only personal to you combinations and the "@" sign dot
com.
"Was it something I said that made you stop and listen
some more? Were there the right combination of words and thoughts that
made you feel like I was "okay."
Was there something in the way I said it all that made you
want to read what I had written?
Until yesterday, I knew you were real, but it all lacked
the stuff of two human beings connecting.
Today, as I added even more pictures to my album, I was
suddenly taken by surprise. I literally gasped for air as I looked over
the faces and names of those who sent pictures to me.
"My goodness, she likes what I write!"
"Lord! He reads my stories and likes them,
too?"
There were families who have opened their hearts to
me. There were couples who both read my stories. There where
beautiful young ladies and handsome young men, who said that they enjoyed my
work.
For some I knew their name and now saw their faces for the
very first time.
"You? You have written to me many times and we
talked of worldly things and places we dreamed about. That's you, my
friend?"
Then I started thinking . (Perhaps I do that
way too much)
What if you and I passed each other at the mall, or stood
next to each other on a crowded train.
What if I sat down next to you at the park? Would
you and I have spoken? Or would I have missed a great opportunity to
know you like I have come to know you?
Imagine then, how many incredible opportunities you and I
have lost because we didn't speak to the person next to us. Imagine the
world we could have know in the life of that woman who sat next to you on
the bus? Or the worldly guidance you could have gained from the man
who delivered your oil. What wonderful perspective would he have on life
that just might have changed yours that day.
The point is, I didn't know you looked so beautiful my
dear friends. I am so sorry that I hadn't asked sooner for your
picture.
Your children give me hope, your smile makes my
day ahead seem hopeful, your family tells me that the world will be alright
after all.
Imagine then the great loss for me if you had just passed
me by.
Imagine...we met because it was "Something I
said."

So many but this one sparked my story today:
Bob, Thank you for showing us just how "REAL" you really are with the
pictures of your beautiful family!
In this world now a days it's hard to believe just really what is on
the "up and up" and I must admit that after reading all of your beautiful
stories for so many years that sometimes I had my doubts that
you were "REAL" now I am sure after seeing all of you that "I BELIEVE IN
YOU!"
Godspeed,
Myra **************************************************

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye." |
