"I Believe in You!"
A message of Hope, stories from the road.

Hello, my friend!
FIRST Be aware of all the scams on the internet in the name of helping the people in this disaster and around the world.?  Only go to legitimate websites offered through the news stations.?  ABC, NBC, CBS?  etc. or your local channels and newspapers.?  NEVER use a link in an email message supposedly sent by an recognized charity.?  As real as it looks...It is a scam!
Call your local charities and ask where and how you can donate.
Second...never reply to emails that are "doing a survey" "Coke or Pepsi" "This restaurant or that"?  Or any other scam promising you gas for a year, restaurant gift certificates or anything as crazy as a lap top for your participation.?  As soon as we all stop falling for these scams the sooner your email inbox will stop getting them.

We are in a span of wonderful weather here in Pennsylvania.?  After the heat of the summer I find it all too welcome.?
Still, it is over shadowed by my fellow man struggling so.?  I am reminded that I have a most powerful gift to combat it all.?
The power of faith applied to the words I write and the things I say serve a greater purpose.
I hope you have found a way to make your faith a bright shining star in the darkness.
Love and thanks to each of you for all you are doing to prove God is also there in the storm.

Today's Message:
"Just Words"
By Bob Perks
"I kept repeating it over and over at the end of each day," he said.?  "It helped me to get through it all."
We were speaking about bad times, challenges, and the pain of defeat.?  At this point in his life you would never guess that at one time he was lost, penniless and hopeless.
Now he was happy, healthy and by all standards successful.
Once you have gone through such days of defeat, the memory of it all lies just below the surface.? ?  I keep it there on purpose to remind me how bad things were once and putting the challenges of my present day to the test, I suddenly realize how very blessed I am now.
I wondered what magical words could keep a man alive through all that.?  I wanted to know what things could be said that could possibly make someone so down and depressed rise again.
Oddly, considering what I do for a living now, in all of my deep and depressing times in life I found little? motivation in the words of some fancy motivational speaker.? ? ? That's why I choose to label myself "inspirational."?  I? call on God to help me find? just the right words to use.? ? ?
During those days when I cursed life itself, there were no Hallmark cards or cute little itsy bitsy books that I found any spark of hope in.
I smiled and thanked the giver with as much sincerity as I could muster.?  But while the gesture was sincere, the words were empty.
Even biblical quotes and faith-filled easy-to-read pamphlets couldn't get through to me.
So, what words of wisdom helped this man through his ordeal??  What could he possibly do, say, or? think that would give him hope enough to face the next day?
"Go ahead, tell me!?  I can't wait to hear this," I thought to myself.
"Sir, you have shared a very? sad story with me today.?  I know that pain.?  I can certainly relate to the loss you had experienced back then.?  I can't for the life of me think of anything that would have inspired me in that way when I was so defeated," I said to him with an almost sarcastic tone.
"Please, tell me.?  At the end of yet another go-nowhere, hopeless day, what magic words did you say?"
"I will try again tomorrow!" he said.
"I believe in You!"

Bob,?
I wanted to thank you for not writing a message about the devastation from Katrina.?  We here in?  the U.S. have seen, heard or read so many messages in media about what's happened or is happening there that I'm afraid the tragedy will become too familiar.?  That could result in people no longer being concerned as it's too common.?  When that happens people stop praying even though everything is the same.?  If we focus on uplifting stories then many of us will continue to keep the victims of Katrina in our prayers.?  Again, THANK YOU!
Barbara
Bob, OH YEAH!!?  So true, so complete, so eloquently written!!?  "In my last day on this earth I will leave filled with joy to a better place knowing that I have served my purpose and completed my mission. I will not wither to the ground as?  a failure and serve as a pathway.? I am important.? I am successful.? I am God's creation!? I am alive!"? It just isn't going to? get any better than that - huh?? Thank you for your words today. We all have purpose and my prayer is that we each are looking today with open eyes to discover God's plan for us.
I continue to raise you and Marianne's needs to our giving and loving Lord.

Hi Bob, Ray here.?  Your message was so perfect this morning.?  I am a recovering alcoholic with 22 years sobriety.?  I know the importance of living each day to its fullest, to living up to my full potential, and listening to the still small voice that directs my path.?  I also need to be reminded from time to time and your message did just that for me.
I also send out a monthly newsletter to over 350 cops recovering from alcohol abuse.?  This piece will find its way into the November newsletter to help us all be reminded of ways to help our fellows and to improve the planet upon which we reside.
Thank you again, Bob
Ray
Bob & Marianne - I just think you have been "commissioned" to help give us faith, hope and love.?  We can see the suffering on TV and we need YOU to help us ALL through this "storm in life". Thanks for being there and being you.?  LOL, Eloise in Franklinville NYS
Hi Bob?
Once again you gave hope to a world wrapped in pain and confusion. Thank you
I found a T-shirt at a local used clothing store in new condition that fits my 9 year old son. My son is severe learning challenged, ADHD, and developmentally slower but the greatest loving kid you could ever be blessed?  with.
This t-shirt fits him and the T-Shirt says.......
All Positive Change in the World comes from our Ideas of What We Believe is Possible.
Thank you for joining me in that belief

"I wish you enough!"
written by Bob Perks (c) 2001

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
