"I Believe in You!"
A message of Hope, stories from the road.
By Bob Perks
*************************************************
Hello, my friend!
I am very excited and deeply touched by the more than 250 cards, letters and messages that arrived for my friend, Mike.

As they continue to arrive I will send them on to him.

I stopped by unannounced and found that Mike was not at home at the time, but he called later.  Mike said, "I have never in my life had such a wonderful thing happen to me!  Bobby, you should read what they had to say...ahhh Bob, I can't believe the things they have written."

I reminded him that the messages came from all over the world.  He began to read them off like a travel agent...South Africa, Canada, Ohio, New Jersey,  Georgia, Texas, West Indies...."

He went on to tell me that he read about 3/4ths of them.  His beautiful wife, Nancy read them all.

I could have done almost anything for Mike.  I have sent flowers in the past.  We talked about sending them money, a gift card for dinner, but I knew people would mean more to him than anything.

"Nobody has ever done anything like this for me!"

Mike, nobody ever did what you did for me, either.

From the deepest part of my soul, I thank each of you.

It was just like the closing scene in "It's a Wonderful Life!"

"Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings!"

You are now all angels!

Love always and all ways,

Bob and Marianne

Today's Message:

"This is your day"
By Bob Perks

"This is your day, not his.  He has his own.  It is your choice whether you will permit him into your day or not and how much," I said to her.

Choice.

We struggle with so many things in life that we feel we have no control over.

But we do.  We choose how we react to things, people, or circumstances.

This woman has a boss who is over bearing and totally out of touch with the people who work for him.  He has no compassion at all for whatever challenges they are facing in their own lives and the result is, he is losing.   Losing makes him more unbearable.

"If I go down I'm taking people with me!" he declared.

One by one good, well qualified people have left.

He was always the reason.

One by one the rest of his employees are suffering.  They are stressed to the maximum.  The work problems flow back into their private lives, thus creating even more stress on a personal level.

He doesn't care.

"This is your day.  He has his own."

This day was given to you, not for his benefit, not so that he can cause more pain and suffering.  It is your day.  The world he lives in is an ugly one filled with drive and destruction, plowing under and turning over lives on the way to reaching his goal.

He is outside your day even when he briefly steps into to it.  Even when he sneaks in, slithering his way around you, he remains outside your day.

That is until you permit him, allow him to break through.  That break through is always on an emotional level.  His purpose, his mission is to get to you and the only way he knows how, is to touch your soul, squash your spirit and make you feel less than you are.

It is the tactics of a thief.  One who cannot be fully human and thrives on stealing the will of those around him.

Now let's take the human face off of this thief.

Perhaps it is a life threatening disease you are facing or a life challenging situation like divorce, financial problems or family matters.

They appear to be bigger than life.  But nothing is bigger than life itself.

Maybe the answer lies in the question..."How do you eat an elephant?"

One bite at a time.

"This is your day, not his.  He has his own."
"I believe in You!"

"I wish you enough!"
written by Bob Perks (c) 2001

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
