"I Believe in You!" A message of Hope, stories from the road. By Bob Perks ************************************************* Hello, my friend! Do you have a minute? Now I will get to talk to my "friends
I've never met!" If you have a minute. That's all it takes. I am so very excited to offer even more of me. You can never get enough "perks" in life! Now you can read a little more and listen to what I have to say. About three times each week I will offer an
audio one minute pick me up based on my "Perks Pearls of Wisdom." It takes about one minute to download the file and one to listen. You can even email the message to your friends! If your computer has audio MP3 capabilities (most do) it will be easy. Click on "play this audio post" Hey, I'll talk with you soon! 2006 Bob Perks Today's Message: "If you want to" by Bob Perks My friend has been going through some difficult times recently. I hated to see him so down and out of touch. I wanted to help, but had no idea how. So, I just listened. In doing, so I picked up what I think are important things to remember when dealing with someone who just can't find their way out. I've been there. Here's what I heard him saying: If you want to reach me, ask me how. Right now in this time and space I may not be reachable. If you want to teach me do so by example. Sit beside me quietly for a time and I will learn from your gentle ways. If you want to tell me, please don't scream or shout. The
louder you are the less I will hear. If you want to show me the way, don't run ahead of me. Slow down and walk beside me. I am tired and need to take my time. If you want to see me smile, don't make me do it. I am not a child. I will smile when my heart stops aching. If you want to say something and don't know what to say, be quiet and listen. Even if I do not say a word, having you near me speaks volumes. If want to love
me, tell me often. "I love you!" heals the deepest wounds. Finally, if you want to "save my soul" don't preach to me. Pray for me. Prayer works where words fail. In doing so we will both be blessed. ### If you or someone you know are showing signs of depression seek help. I found this site useful: "I'll see you in my prayers!" "I believe in You!" Bob Perks I encourage you to share my stories with your friends but, when copying I ask that you keep my name and contact

RE: "As is" Bob, What a wonderful description of an As Is person! The Love of my Life came in an As Is package and so did I! Trust, neither of us is a prize many would take on! Me,
with my domineering "I'm a single mother of two teenage daughters, I can handle anything and don't need any help attitude" Him, with five children from 3 different failed relationships and gun shy of domineering women! We met, we sparked, I saw past the hurt to a heart that longed to be loved, he saw past my hard shell and saw the soft women aching to slip thru. We accepted each other As Is! We were As Is people, but WE are so much more! Six years, Seven kids, two Grandkids later we are now "As It's Meant To Be People" by the Grace of God! Wendy Dear Bob: “As Is” is a lovely sentiment and this was truly an inspiring “tale” from you today. I Believe in You and I feel sure that God does also. Your messages just keep getting better and better. I always feel that I am blessed to be included in your “mail”. Thank you again…..and also thanks to Marianne. Abby Hi Bob As I read your writing for today a song occurred to me before I got to the end of it. "Just As I Am".... it's another way of saying As Is. Thanks for writing as much as you do. I still truly enjoy it. It's like a hand written letter from a personal friend. You just can't wait to see what they
have to say. I'm still waiting for that collection of writings in book form. By now you should have enough for two or three books. They would work perfect for A Letter A Day From a Friend. Put 365 to a book and you'd have enough for the next couple years. And in the mean time, you'd be gathering enough for the next volume. Thanks again my friend. Dwayne Mr. Perks, As i was reading the story As Is, it struck me as one way to show our faith. I mean, if God made us the way we are; if God gave us our trials and tribulations and our "baggage" and He still loves us and sees our value, well then who are we to question him??? It's sort of a leap of faith to be able to wear a badge that says "As is", only on mine i would add, "with God's help and proud of it". Thanks for sharing yet another wonderful story with us all. Cindy Bob, What a pick me up story Bob, just what I needed for today, for that matter for the rest of my days. It brought to mind a hymn we used to sing in church when
I was a young boy 'Just As I am', In fact I accepted Jesus when that song was being sung, just as I am without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me. Thanks for the memories Bob. Jim ************************************************** "I wish you enough!"

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye." |
