Today's Message:
"One"
By Bob Perks

I am the king of "enough."  My whole life circles around the idea of having just
enough and being happy.  Still, I often times struggle with more.

As a speaker and a writer, my creative side is nourished by feedback.  Like an artist who
watches people experiencing their labor of love, speakers wait for the applause, writers wait,
well for anything.

As the inspirational writer for Beliefnet, I have learned to gauge my work and impact on the
comments left along side each story that appears online there.

It's not so much the number of comments but the reactions to the work.  Most have been kind.
Some have been down right rude.  Dr. Wayne Dyer says, "If you have a choice to be right or to be
kind, always choose kind."

I like that idea.  I always taught my children to "always build up, not tear down."

For the first time my latest story on Beliefnet brought no reaction at all.  Nothing.

That is until tonight.  I received one sent directly to me.

I must say that If I never heard from anyone again, this one comment will sustain me.

Sometimes when we are seeking so much more "One" is more than enough.

I share it with you.  Although she did supply her name, I have removed it for privacy.

Mr. Perks

I am a beliefnet member and through my daily efforts to learn more about God in studying
his word and reading about other peoples trials and joys, it always makes my problems seem so small.

You see Sir, I have many struggles in life,  I was raped at age 10 by a family friend, I was a
battered wife at age 18, I am a product of  divorced parents and I could go on about my
trials but because of God's love I have never felt sorry for myself and tried to see some light
or lesson even at the lowest times in my life.

I need you and people like you to continue to spread the stories of hope.

I am a 33 year single mom with two children. I am often faced with many disappointments
in my life as I struggle to do what is right so my children and I may receive blessings. And
I know that the devil hates that I love GOD so much so he tries to keep me down with
disappointments. So since I am aware of that, most problems don't bother me.

You see, I have been trying to purchase my first home for my children and I.  It seems
that every time I am closer to point of getting closed on this house something else happens
and I have been so strong about it but today I was weak. I was so weak that my heart
was low in my chest and heavy it hurt.  I am wondering "why is this happening to me"
I have always tried to be a good daughter, mother, sister, friend and neighbor. If you
ask anyone about me they would say, I am compassionate and will lend a hand to a stranger.
But this thing with the house just had me down today.  I know victory belongs to the Lord
and since I asked for this house, I wanted it only with God's blessings, so patience and
endurance must and will prevail.

I read your story about Broken Rainbows and it touched me so deeply, I immediately
felt my chest pain ease,  then I went over to your website and read I Wish You Enough
and oh boy.

I have had a lot of broken rainbows too but in the midst of all of it I have been blessed in
so many ways. These testimonies literally made me so full of joy,  I began to weep and I
had to excuse myself from my desk and try to get composure as I felt God was trying to
tell me something.

You see Mr. Perks on this day, you were the thing that God sent to me to lift my spirits.
Your stories  help make me understand this thing we live called life a little better.  On this
day, I have endured enough pain and frustration with my situation that I can focus on the
blessings in my life, I am ever thankful for my strength, my health, healthy children and most
of all family. I received a phone call shortly after reading I wish You enough and found out
my mom and brother both got new jobs today.

Even though I did not get the results  I wanted today, when I opened my eyes and looked
around me God was blessing me and the people I love  in so many ways I could not count
and you know what Mr. Perks I accept that and am humbled.

So I am ending this email with a message to you. On this day I am thankful for you, Mr. Perks.
I will forever return to your website to be uplifted.

May God Continue to Bless You and Keep you Safe. Happy Easter To You Mr. Perks

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
