Today's Message:
"Whose list are you on?"
Bob Perks
I had to say goodbye to someone. You know I hate
goodbyes, so
I struggled with what I needed to say to him. But at
the same time I
discovered something special about how I feel about people
and myself.
The following is taken, in part, from the note I just
emailed to him:
"It's the thing about caring for people. They get
into your life, sometimes
briefly, and manage to become a part of who you are.
Not all people,
but those special individuals who arrive
unexpectedly and linger there.
How does it happen?
They are the ones who, the first time you
meet them, touch you in such a way
that they leave an imprint on your heart.
They are the people you look for and hope to meet along
the way. They
make the journey easier.
Some become close friends and share everyday happenings in
your life.
Others just pass through leaving behind bits and pieces of
who they are.
Then there are those who are always there, but off in the
distance somewhere
within reach whenever you need them. You may only
see them once in awhile,
but when you do you are made better, lifted up, energized
by the time you
shared with them."
After reading this I thought about the many people in my
life who fit into this group.
I realized how many people I depend on each day, sometimes
just to get through it.
I am blessed beyond measure.
It also brought up this question...
"Am I one of those people?"
Wouldn't it be great if we could become more like the
people we personally depend on?
Like the old, "If you want a good friend, be
one."
Or, "Be the change you want to see in the
world."
Look at the people around you that you love and depend on
daily. Make a list of all of the
qualities they possess that you admire and
value.
Now, take that same list and ask yourself, "I am I as good
a person?"
Do you reflect those same qualities in the lives of
others?
Now, ask yourself, "Whose list are you on?"
"I believe in
You!" Bob Perks

RE:
"It seem so far"
Bob
Another excellent one! No
one's role is insignificant. I am the keystone to
an even bigger plan. I need to hold onto the dream, face my fears, know that all will be taken care of and take one step at a time. The journey begins! Kaye Bob,
It is funny that you should mention this... we bought this movie for our children when it released & we
have watched it several times since then. I too thought
it paralleled well with
our hopes & dreams. We are expecting our last child on
August 29th this year the
doctor tells us that his best scientific guess is that this
will be our daughter...
out of the 3 boys we already have :) number 4 appears to
be our daughter!
Looking out on the horizon of our newest family member &
what I hope to accomplish
with my education... "it seems so far..." But God knows
when it will come to be
for us... and at the end of the journey we will say...
it seemed so unattainable
but now... it's here!
"It is the world dear, did you expect it to be small?" Thank you for always reminding us that the goal is there
& attainable we can see it on the horizon & we have to look
into the future and
envision our dreams to become our future, our hope by Gods
will & not to our own
despair. God Bless!

"Where are you now?
Bob,
Do you remember the first
time it was used?
If you have forgotten, it was used when G-d told Adam after he sinned in the Garden of Eden. It is possible that whoever asks you that question is asking you not for your physical location but you are to search deeper for an answer. Ayekka [where are you] ... one word reminding you to look at what you have done until NOW! David Dear Bob
and Marianne, I hope this means you are both doing well. Bob, I
want to
tell you that your messages mean much to all of us out here, and I
appreciate and thank
you.
I think
that God has not allowed you to wander at will, but has moved you
exactly
in the path where He wanted you to be. As you and all of us know,
God has
promised to use all things that come our way for our good and His glory.
He tells
us that nothing can touch us except it comes through Him first, and
He
allows it. I am now 67 years old, God took my husband of 41 years home to
be
with Him
in August of 2003 (cancer), and my beloved mother in July, 2003. I am
still
wandering and sometimes lost, but God blessed me with a wonderful son and
daughter-in-law, 3 granddaughters,
and a grandson, who love me unconditionally and whom
I
love. When I feel lost from my path, God sends a reminder in some way that
He is my
Lord and
Savior and He is leading me in my path. And so He is doing with you and
Marianne.
God bless
you in bountiful ways. Love and prayers. Brona
Thanks
again, Bob
This is a good one, and I love the blog thing. You have a great voice and each one gives me something to really think
about.
"I'll see you in my prayers" Corinne Casey Hello
Bob: I am so sorry you can't have the moon and eat it too! But Hot
Fudge Sundaes are vorboten! Bob,
I listened to your message today, and also read the
story "Where are you now"
I found it very interesting, that you mention that
you are always going somewhere.
I teach Adult Sunday School and in my lesson for
Sunday, there is a question. Describe
your life. Is it an endless circle going no where,
or spiraling out of control, or a Journey.
I didn't even have to think about this and I feel
my students will answer the same way I did.
Its a journey! I know that God is always with me
and if I follow his lead I get to where He wants me
to go. I too always end up back home, or sometimes
have had to take home with me. There
is a message I read which states " If God is
you co-pilot, why don't you just let Him drive."
Its funny, but also very true. I so enjoy
your messages and always look forward to the next one.
God Bless, Mary J.
I'm sitting here on the verge of tears,Bob. My step
daughter is dying of cancer. On my way
to the drugstore this morning I saw two does and
stopped for them to cross the
road. I know God sent those does as a sign of hope
and joy. You see, I live in a
small city in CT and those does were as out
of place as I feel right now. Her Dad is
out of state working. He was in town this weekend
and we spent the day with his daughter
Saturday. She looked so bad and my heart weeps for
her.
I love your letters because they bring everything
into focus. And I know when she goes,
there will be no more pain for her. And that's a
blessing. Thanks for your on the mark letters.
I believe in you.
Love to you and Marianne.
Sami
Bob,
Your comment that God has a plan for your life caused me to remember a comment I've heard in the past several weeks that has
caused me to stop an re-think
my philosophy, and prompted me to share it with
you.
God has a plan, and we're not it. He doesn't want to part of our plan, but for us to be part of His. God bless my friend. Ralph Bob,
"Where are you now?"
Right where God wants me to be!
