Today's Message:
"I want..."
By Bob Perks
I've gotten too old to be concerned about paperwork and
policy.
I've gotten too smart to get caught up in what I "have to
do."
I'm more concerned about what I should do.
I'm in no really good position to fight it.
If I wanted to take a stand and declare myself free of all
the silly
man-made corporate rules, I think I'd need something
stronger to stand on.
Just because it's the "right thing to do,"
doesn't hold much in this world today.
I just want to care for people. There should be no
paperwork involved there.
I just want to stop and chat with them. I shouldn't
have to file a form because I did.
I just want to listen to what they have to say. I
shouldn't have to make notes...just listen.
I want to make people feel important.
I want to talk to perfect strangers as if I'd known them
all my life.
I want, after I leave, to make them wish they had known me
that long.
I want to compliment a woman about her dress or looks and
not feel guilty or out of line.
I want to hug another man when I think he needs one
and not feel awkward.
I want to put my arm around someone and not worry whether
I am "violating their space."
I want to sing and dance when the spirit moves me just
like in a movie musical....and
everyone joins in.
I want...to do what I can with what I have, for all the
right reasons.
I want...you to know...and believe that...
