"I Believe in You!"
A message of Hope, stories from the
road.
By Bob Perks
*************************************************
Hello, my friend!
I pray you are well.
I dwell on little things in a big world and
spend my life telling their stories. But
every once in awhile my thoughts run deeper than
normal.
Today's story is a good example of that.
I sit down to write a light, lofty tale and give into
my outspoken spirit. As always it was a "meant to be"
mix of words and worry.
If I could get paid to worry about people, I'd make a fortune.
On Monday, if not over the weekend, I will take a moment, if
you
permit me, to fill you in on a few things that need to be
shared...
An update on my wife Marianne's remarkable recovery from breast
cancer
and two projects I am very proud of. I feel comfortable
with each of you and
although I love writing stories for you, I need to sit and talk with you
about life.
That's what friends do.
Even "friends I've never met!"
Love always and all ways
Bob and Marianne

Today's Message:
"A tiny drop of water"
by Bob Perks
A tiny drop of water washed away the land and
buildings fell,
floating away with other people's dreams.
Roadways planned and formed by huge machines and men
who sweat and hammer the world into shape, were pushed
away
with little effort.
People ran and cars clogged highways in an effort to stay
ahead
of the possible destruction that tiny drop of water could
cause.
"Wait!" you say. "It was much more than a tiny drop
of water.
The streams overflowed and the rivers broke through their
banks
causing a wall of water to destroy those
things."
Yes, but it was made up of tiny drops of water.
Raindrops which together
wore a path right through my yard with little
effort. One drop, then two
then thousands, millions and all together they changed the
world, our world.
Can't you see the significance in that?
I want to change the world. I am tired, worn out
from weeping at the sight of
still another death not just on the field of
battle laid out by warriors, but in the
streets of every city, in the fields of the
impoverished, desolate reaches of the world.
They are dying in my country and yours by bullet, by
starvation, disease, arrogance,
stupidity and pride.
A tiny drop of water gave me hope.
I am but one drop in the sea of humanity, but like the
rain I can join together with others
and wash away the hatred and pain I anguish over.
One drop, then two, then thousands,
millions and all together we can change the world. our
world.
I want to change my life. I am tired of being in
debt. I am worn out from trying
to keep pace with the world. I have tried my
very best to get ahead and find myself
falling behind each step of the way.
A tiny drop of water gave me hope.
It fell upon the hillside just behind my
house. One single drop of water joined with
others forming a stream.
Like trying one more time. Like doing one more
thing.
Like pushing one more inch to reach the goal, the dream I
long to touch and make reality.
All my little efforts make big changes.
The little stream that ran down my driveway, never having
been there before, began as
one single drop, until one drop after another, trying
again and again, washed the soil away and
moved the tiny pebble and eventually the
rock.
I cannot push away the fear nor change my life overnight,
but if I dedicate myself to
one single effort each and every day, I will see the power
of changing little things to make
a big difference.
A tiny drop of water gave me hope.
I am just one drop in the sea of humanity. But I
have the power to change my life
and the sacred obligation to move the world in the right
direction.
How?
One drop, then two, then
thousands, millions and all together we change the world, our
world.
A tiny drop of water gave me hope.

My dear friend, Bob,
This sums up my thoughts for the past few years.
A new friend of mine suggested that I live like I was already in the life I
had
hoped/dreamed about. She, too, hit the nail on the
head.
For some reason, I am so blessed with the opportunity to do just
that.
I am blessed to choose how I will "sing" about each
day.
Are there no more challenges in my daily life? You bet there
are. What
has happened is how I shall look at those challenges. Perhaps a way
to
learn something new. Perhaps feel something new. Perhaps to
love anew.
And, oh what a beautiful day it is!!
Thank you, my friend~
Love, light, and blessings~Mama T
Hi Bob. Wow, how thought provoking! In a world of "bigger and
better",
this was very refreshing. Rose Bob,
One of the most surprising things you can learn about who you truly
are is to ask your adult children what their memories of you are from
their child hood. I did this recently and was quite surprised by the
answers.
It was not at all what I remembered. They each had fond memories of
their
mother as children. Which is nice.
I had a reason for asking so explained to each of them that it was important they give truthful answers and not to worry that we would make me
mad.
When it is all said and done on Judgment Day, it is the memories we leave behind that gives proof to our lives. Peggy
Bob,
Thank you for this story... we as people might normally try & identify ourselves by our jobs. I know in my line of work I am often
recognized by my students
in public. It amazes my wife how many people I come in contact with
on a regular basis.
They tell me "If I have a problem with x I can come to you for help to
resolve it, I always
get the right answer even if it isn't what I want to hear."
My wife tells me that I am a celebrity in our town ... HA! I remind her to look into her own day-to-day life, people remember us by our jobs often times, but
more
over how we reacted to them... that is how we are recognized to the
world. However,
God sees who we really are... he sees us for the way he created us.
All of our gifts,
giving and he even knows our shortcomings. I'm glad to know that I am
in this fleshy
box but it is not how my God recognizes me. Thank you for always
reminding us
of the not-so-obvious. Even if it is right before our eyes every
morning... God Bless! Rick, San Angelo Texas Bob, most of us seem to identify ourselves
by our job or roles in life: lawyer, pastor,
carpenter, wife, father, and such. But, Jesus would rather
have us identify ourselves
as his disciples--part of his family--children of
God!
Thanks for a thought provoking message!
Blessings,
Ann Oh, Bob, I have to give you a picture of when I read the song lyrics
(Some of my favourites, I must say).
Michael and I have been co-managing a large Tourist Park and since
Monday our
co workers have been on holiday.
Last night our power went astray TWICE and the temperatures were
frosty. Tonight
it has just happened AGAIN and our guests are really over it - ie the
temperatures
are even frostier. So, you can see how I was feeling when I opened up my
emails.
Thanks for reminding me of something that I live on a day to day basis -
just
sometimes it gets pushed away with day to day events.
Keep going with these newsletters - they help even more than you can
conceive.
Love and Hugs always from LINDA
Bob, I enjoy
all your messages, but I found this one today to be very powerful, and
challenging, thanks so much for the
challenge
Regards Gayle Bob, I am an 83 year old,
great and soon to be great, great grandmother, who
is in exactly that shape of not
knowing who I am, figuratively. Because of my
health, I no longer
drive. I had been keeping up with my drivers license,
however, using it as an
identification. I lost it. I cannot get another one unless
I take the drivers test
again. I cannot get a nondrivers because I do not have a
certificate or other
identification showing why my name is different than that
on my birth certificate.
I can't even draw money from the bank, I have to go
to the ATM machine. I
carry with me, in my walker, every bit of identification
I have, including cataract card
and pacemaker card, a picture of me in the
church bulletin. Now, how
do you like those apples? Dorothy
