Subscription and Archives at: http://archives.ezinester.com/4158 The Republican Convention has come and gone and we've got two great nominees... President George W. Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney! One again this dynamic duo demonstrated why we need to win: clear vision for the future of America, security at home, economic growth, and consistency. Right away the other team came out swinging (and missing) calling the Republicans mean-spirited while offering absolutely nothing other than time-worn Democrat- socialist policy initiatives that would expose America to security threats and stifle economic growth. The first polls show that America has been listening, and they like the current team in government. While we expect some tough times ahead until the election, short-term we can be pretty proud of our guys and gals in New York. The convention was terrific and the opposition is scurrying like a stepped-on ant hill. There is plenty of campaign to go, so don't slow down on your efforts to identify and register Bush-friendly voters. wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww IN THIS NEWSLETTER wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ** BSO is Free, but You Have To Ask For It ** ** This Week in Overdrive ** ** Action Alerts ** ......How Low Will the Media Go? ......Media Bias: Call Them On It! ......Nader Deadlines Approaching ......John Kerry Meets The Truth Squad ......Register to Vote ......Appeal to Non-Republicans ......Fraud Watchers Wanted ......Other Actions ......Petitions ** Battleground States ** ......BSO's Featured States: Pennsylvania ......Action Items ......Grassroots at the Battleground ** Tight Senate Races ** ** Polls ** ** Volunteer for the President ** ** Links ** ......Campaign ......Activist Sites ......Government ......Media: Newspapers, TV, Radio ......Tell John Kerry ** The Real Deal? ** ** The Opposition at Work ** ......Where Do They Stand on the Issues? ......Who Are They Trying To Fool? ......The Real Game ......Sideshows ** Kerry's Record ** (Send to your pro-Kerry friends) ** Driving on the Right Side ** ** History & Mission ** ** Subscription & Donation Information ** wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww BSO IS FREE, BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww You must subscribe to BSO in order to receive the entire newsletter. BushSupportInOverdrive@hotmail.com wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww THIS WEEK IN OVERDRIVE wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Game on! This past week saw a very successful Republican convention that took the critical issues facing the nation to the American public. In contrast to the 'cRAT Convention, there were no smoke and mirror diversions of some single 30 year old qualification to be the President. No, the Republicans chose to look to the future in addressing real issues of security, the economy, health insurance, Social Security, and job training. Some of our favorite moments include, in no particular order, the pride of achievement of an immigrant as Arnold Schwartenegger conveyed his personal story, to the love of President by his wife, First Lady Laura Bush, that was as authentic a testimonial to a man that I had ever heard. The video on Ronald Reagan brought tears to my eyes as I remembered the two times that I had met the man. It is without exaggeration that President Reagan changed my life. Then who could ever forget the impact of Democratic Senator Zell Miller's keynote address, where he very effectively showed just why Senator Kerry is completely unfit to lead this nation. VP Dick Cheney's address was steady and competent, and not unpredictably, not filled with loads of emotion. If something were to happen to President Bush (God forbid!), I could easily go to sleep at night with a President Cheney in charge and hugely in contrast to the unease I would feel about a President Edwards. Finally on Thursday evening Governor Pataki warmed up the crowd for the President, who gave a state-of-the-unionesque speech that was appropriate for a President seeking a second term. He made his case for re-election, from the basis of a strategy for ensuring national security to a vision that befits compassionate conservatism. Despite the lies and spin of the Democrats, this man is rock solid and looking ahead for the shoals and rocks that might ground this ship, this nation. BSO could not be prouder of this man, our President. Meanwhile, the Kerry-Edwards huckster show is in meltdown. Between the do-nothing Senator and the ambulance-chasing lawyer, this sorry lot is staring at an empty future. Sure they have much of the traditional media in their corner who are only too happy to furnish a platform for their lies and distortions, but who do they think they are fooling? Certainly not BSO readers, and the polls strongly suggest that the American public is not going to be fooled either. That said... This election could go either way and will be highly dependent on the events of the last week or two before the election. No matter what the polls say, we will have to work right up to the end, and beyond, if necessary. Get Busy, Folks! wwwwwwwwwwwwwww ACTION ALERTS wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwww HOW LOW WILL THE MEDIA GO? Quite a ways, if you've followed the regular media, print and broadcast, in their efforts to attack the President. For example, the New York Times and AP have reported that when President Bush announced to a post-convention campaign crowd in Pennsylvania that former President Clinton had been hospitalized for heart trouble and was facing surgery and the President wished Mr. Clinton best wishes for successful surgery and a speedy recovery, the media reported that the announcement was followed by the boos and jeers of thousands 'that the President took no action to stop' whereas in reviewing the real-time recording of the event BSO heard cheers and applause in support of the President's words of concern. Once again, there is no new low that the media will plunge through in their efforts to smear the President. When it happens, call them to task. Calls, faxes, letters, and emails to the editor or program should protest the misreporting of the news. A comprehensive list of media addresses, emails, and phone numbers can be found in the LINKS section. MEDIA BIAS: CALL THEM ON IT! Opinion pieces parading as straight news is not only misleading, it is downright offensive and insulting! So much of the news is soft on Kerry and tough on the President. When you see it you will know it. Call the media when they distort the facts. The LINKS section gives contact info. NADER SWING STATES DEADLINES APPROACH If you live in these swing states, sign Ralph Nader's petition for ballot access and help keep these states close!! Call your Republican friends in these states and urge them to sign. NEW MEXICO! Nader needs to qualify by 9/7. MINNESOTA! Ralph needs you by 9/14. JOHN KERRY MEETS THE TRUTH SQUAD Every few days the Bush Campaign or one of the few pro-Bush 527 organizations come out with a new television ad. The official ads are posted to the website at http://www.georgewbush.com/. We provide links to the best of the other ads in THE REAL KERRY. These ads do not appear everywhere, nor does everyone get to see them. Consider emailing the great ones to your friends and/or adding them to your email signature. See THE REAL KERRY for more. REGISTER TO VOTE This is basic. You can easily register at http://www.voteforgeorgewbush.com/default.asp?template=7 Request an absentee ballot. When you receive it follow the directions exactly and mail it in well before the deadline. This will free you to call other Republicans to get them to the ballot booth on election day. APPEAL TO NON-REPUBLICANS Have you seen enough? Change your party affiliation to Republican as a vote of confidence in President George W. Bush. I urge you to change your registration right now since it is the one of the most powerful messages that you can send! You can change your party registration or register to vote by clicking on the following link. It's easy and it's fast! It is time for Independents and all moral Democrats to help in reunifying the country by sending a strong message now! http://www.voteforgeorgewbush.com/default.asp?template=7 You might also consider contacting the Democratic National Committee to tell them that you can't support them any more. As President Reagan put it: 'I didn't leave my party. My party has left me.' There are a lot of Dems today feeling the same way. http://www.democrats.org/contact/ and your state and local Democratic Party offices at http://www.democrats.org/states/ ! FRAUD WATCHERS WANTED We're not that jazzed that the UN will be sending international observers to our election, but if they stop democrat fraud, OK. Volunteer as a poll watcher or poll worker, especially in urban areas and in swing states where Democrat election fraud is suspect. This is not a last minute action item that you can put off. Most states have rigorous deadlines and other requirements for poll workers. Remember, a lot of unions have gotten their members Election Day off just so they can go work the polls in one way or another. Election fraud happens too often!! 'The essence of democracy is that everyone accepts the results of elections, even when they lose them.' This year no multiple voting by a single voter, no voting by the dead, no NY to FL snowbird double voting, no buying of votes in urban areas, count every vote (once), no voting by non-citizens, and this time, let's count all of the votes of our men and women serving our nation overseas. http://www.fraudfactor.com/fflawsuitfraud.html 'The Election Fraud Theory' http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3a246229798e.htm No Doctored DRE by John Fund http://www.opinionjournal.com/diary/?id=110005405 Contact your local or state Republican Party headquarters now! The election will be either won or lost in the other battleground or 'swing' states. Now that we are in September the general electorate is paying more attention to the election, and momentum is in our direction. In general it would be safe to say that the more the American public gets to know John Kerry the more they just do not like the man. We have about 8 weeks to expose the Senator for the fraud that he is. BSO's FEATURED STATE: PENNSYLVANIA The very latest poll has Bush leading in PA for perhaps the first time in the last year or so. Outstanding!. Much of the state is conservative, and it is here that we need to focus our efforts. The culture war is alive and well here, and values is where the battle will be joined. Contact your friends in PA this week! PENNSYLVANIA: Bush, narrowly. Nader not on ballot, in court. Critical path: Hit Kerry as threat to investors, out of touch with real people, and weird dynamics of Heinz-Kerry marriage. Women voters will make the difference in PA. Kerry's confused internationalism is threat to PA jobs. Remind voters that the President protected the steel industry here for as long as he could within the bounds of international law. In that time Pennsylvania steel was able to do a lot to update and retool to regain a competitive status with foreign steel dumpers. Lifting those protections last year was the only thing the President could do if you actually know the issue and are rational about it. Support for the President now would be appropriate. October 4, 2004 is the deadline to register to vote. Write a letter to the editor or call a radio station. Get your entire church congregation registered to vote! GRASSROOTS AT THE BATTLEGROUND: ARIZONA: Latest poll has Bush by 6-8%. Nader is not on ballot. Critical path: GOTV, no sitting on hands this time. Despite weak immigration and border security policies so far, Bush administration is doing far better than Kerry would. Change is incremental and politics works in the world of the possible. Must register to vote 29 days before the election. This past week the Kerry campaign has purchased a huge ad block in CA (and in NY). Some have said this is to keep CA and NY hugely for Kerry in the popular vote count, so that national popular vote counts will have B-K at least even, or Kerry ahead. If Bush starts showing popular vote leads nationwide the Kerry camp is concerned that many swing states will start shifting firmly to Bush, leading to a cascade. It could happen. Bush ads are shown regularly in CA, showing genius of Karl Rove. Stay tuned. Show-stopping speech by Arnold at the Convention could have a huge effect. Nader not on the ballot. Obtain voter registration form on-line at http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/votereg1.html CA GOP www.cagop.org CA Young GOP http://www.cyr.org/index.html COLORADO: Colorado has certified the "Electoral College Reform Initiative" for the ballot in November, better known as the "Make Your Vote Count" proposal. If this initiative passes, effective with this election the electoral votes will be distributed according to the percentage of the popular vote in Colorado rather than the usual winner-take-all format. Both historically and currently, Colorado leans slightly Republican, so its nine electoral votes will probably go to Bush in 2004. If this measure passes, Kerry will get four votes while Bush gets five. Or vice-versa should Kerry squeak out a victory in November. BSO will monitor any polls on probability of passage of this initiative. In the meantime, if you live in Colorado get yourself registered to vote! TIED or Bush by very narrow margin. Nader on ballot. Three polls with similar results and within the margin of error makes this a swing state. This is down significantly from Kerry's 7-11% lead. Critical path: Kerry is threat to auto industry. With the Kerry campaign making a major media buy in both New York and New Jersey, something is going on. Voter intensity and GOTV will rule here. Watch this state. Democrat Governor McGreevey's latest scandal puts this corruption-ridden state in the swing state category. NJ voters could well send a message to their party bosses this year by using their votes as a protest, and casting them for the President. Kerry is weakening. Nader is on the ballot. Since judicial tyranny is increasingly becoming a factor in governing these United States, getting a Republican Senate is just half-a-step behind in importance with re-electing the President. If you are a citizen in any of these states it is vital that you become active in the campaign! The President's judicial nominees are at stake! North Carolina: Open seat. Tossup. South Carolina: Open seat. Tossup. South Dakota: Incumbent Tom Daschle is in the race of his life. Washington: Incumbent Patty Murray leads by slight margin. wwwwwww POLLS wwwwwwwww wwwwwww The polls are jumping all over the place, with the latest showing Bush leading in Pennsylvania and where earlier tied in the swing states, now leading. The newest popular vote counts from Newsweek and Time, taken just before President Bush's speech, shows the President leading by 11%. State-by-state the electorate is swinging heavily in the President's direction, with the important electoral vote projections showing the President leading by a widening margin. Historically, we must caution that polls do a lot of swinging around during conventions. This year the polls are swinging at just the time that the Kerry campaign seems to be in disarray, with radical changes in personnel and in campaign media strategy. How this will settle out after a week or so is anybody's guess, but BSO warns against over-confidence. Now is the time to consolidate support among the undecideds and the independents. Encourage them to commit to a winning campaign now! To give you an idea of just how volatile this election is, both Zogby and Rasmussen polls show the vast majority of swing states split or within the margin of error on their polls, which essentially says that in a dozen key states, the race is tied. In this environment every poll that comes out will have more significance than it normally would have, with pundits and commentators (including us) trying to divine a trend, to confirm a trend, or to show a reversal of trend. It's very tricky business since the 3 or 4% margin of error on these polls could easily show exactly the opposite of what the current poll shows. That said, we will have to wait until a week or so after the Republican convention to have much confidence in a lot of polls, although we will continue to monitor developments in the individual swing states and do the best we can. Box 34640 Washington, DC 20043 202-712-3000 202-712-3001 (fax) 202-336-6950 (TTY) wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww THE REAL DEAL? wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Genuine in existence. Trust. Authentic. Truth. Honest. Bona fide. Certain. Concrete. Original. Positive. Right. Sensible. Sincere. Solid. Stable. Irrefutable. Substantial. Valid. Factual. These are the qualities that one would associate with the words, 'The Real Deal.' When descriptive words are lined out this way and you pair 'John Kerry' with 'The Real Deal', doesn't it sound like an oxymoron? John Kerry: The Real Deal just doesn't fit together given what we have learned about Senator Flip-Flop and his lies and exaggerations about 'talking with foreign leaders', spending 'Christmas in Cambodia', 'I voted for it, before I voted against it', and 'Sure, I love to go to Wendy's...' just to count a few recent gaffes. Senator Kerry is so liberal that he makes Sen. Kennedy the conservative Senator from Massachusetts. Kerry sponsored a bill to reduce intelligence spending by $6 billion dollars after the first World Trade Center tower bombing, and couldn't get a single other Senator of either party to back it. He served on the Senate intelligence committee, but rarely attended. This, even before he began running for President. What is Kerry's Iraq position? Depends on what day you ask. Even now there are few if any people who are sure where he stands. Senator Kerry spent nearly 20 years in the US Senate and there is not a single notable achievement on his record. He did spearhead the efforts of the Nuclear Freeze Movement while President Reagan was busy winning the Cold War. "I committed atrocities" said Mr. Kerry in front of a Senate committee in 1971. He went on to indict all Vietnam vets of war crimes and atrocities. His comments were used to undermine the morale of American prisoners of war, and his photo is prominently placed in a Vietnamese war museum as 'a friend of the people.' Kerry later attended a meeting of anti-war vets whose actions under consideration included extreme action against some Senators and shortly thereafter threw his war medals, or threw someone else's medals, over the fence at the White House. If you listened to the Democrat Convention, you would have thought that the only thing that Kerry had accomplished in his life was his four month tour of duty in Vietnam. There have been a number of questions raised about his service there, most recently by fellow swift boat officers and up the chain of command in a best-selling book, 'Unfit for Command'. John Kerry was never in Cambodia, didn't ferry CIA operatives in his swift boat, may have thought he had a 'magic hat', falsified one or more combat reports, and received a number of medals for heroic actions that may or may not have happened. John Kerry refuses to release all of his service and medical records. John Kerry and his heiress wife Teresa Heinz-Kerry have a net worth of over One Billion Dollars. Yes, with a 'B'. Even though Massachusetts is a community property state spouse Teresa refuses to file a financial statement that is standard for every candidate and spouse for high federal office. Such wealth puts the Kerrys in the company of perhaps 100 people nationwide. Their four mansion homes plus numerous vacation homes, a five million dollar private jet, and who knows what else is so far removed from most Americans' experience that it calls into question a whole slew of beliefs and assumptions of this richly-endowed couple. Oh yes, neither of these rich people actually earned the money. They both married into it. To be fair, John Kerry had a small muffin bakery in Boston before he went into politics or married two very rich women. Now John Kerry is running for President. Why is he running? He is 'ABB'-- 'Anybody But Bush'. He has no coherent policy inititives, changes his mind constantly, and masquerades as a hawk on national security when he is anything but one. Even members of his own party increasingly hold him in distain and question his integrity. As Ed Gillespie the RNC Chairman put it, "Such contempt for the electorate and the media rarely, if ever, succeed. As a great Republican President once said, "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time." Senator Kerry's blatant hypocrisy will not be able to fool the voters in November, nor will he be able to count on reporters to stand inside his campaign looking disdainfully out at the public and laughing at the inside joke instead of outside his campaign looking skeptically in at his promises and asking the tough questions." "The Real Deal" looks more and more phony every day. wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww THE OPPOSITION AT WORK wwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww WHERE DO THEY STAND ON THE ISSUES? Foreign policy Kerry on August 18: "Finally, I want to say something about the plan that the President announced on Monday to withdraw 70,000 troops from Asia and Europe. Nobody wants to bring troops home more than those of us who have fought in foreign wars. But it needs to be done at the right time and in a sensible way. This is not that time or that way." Kerry on August 1: "I think we can significantly change the deployment of troops, not just there but elsewhere in the world. In the Korean Peninsula perhaps, in Europe perhaps. There are great possibilities open to us." Where does Senator Kerry stand on Iraq? In Kerry's own words... http://www.gop.com/News/MultiMedia/VideoPlayer.aspx?ID=868&T=2 Now isn't it clear?? It's Kerry vs. Kerry2 vs. Kerry3 vs... Senator Kerry boldly proclaims (as only he can do so!) that if attacked, he will retaliate. Doesn't that make you feel safer? Note to Kerry: We have already been attacked! Senator Kerry recently announced that if he had the same information as the President had about Iraq and he had known that no weapons of mass destruction would be found, he would have gone to war. After the President commended the Senator for his statement, the Kerry campaign immediately disavowed the Senator's previous statement. Now, aren't you crystal clear as to where the Senator stands? THE REAL GAME MoveOn Asks Members to 'Adopt A Battleground State' by Jimmy Moore http://www.gopusa.com/news/2004/august/0812_moveon_adopt_state. shtml The left is engaged in the critical battles of this election. Have you done the action items recommended for the battleground states yet? It is time right now to do some work. How about an hour of calls and letters to your friends in the swing states? With the possibility that this election will hinge on a few votes in a few states, this is your chance to affect history! Kerry at work... As a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Kerry tried repeatedly to cut intelligence agencies budgets, at least when he was there. He missed 38 out of 49 meetings. He's really Johnny on-the-stump, isn't he? The Senator apparently has no time for constructive leadership. http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040730-121809-6131r.htm The Democrats have challenged and blocked the candidacy of Ralph Nader everywhere they can. As Republicans we have a duty as part of the political game to exploit fissures between the factions of the opposition. Therefore, we support Ralph Nader's effort to get on the ballot of every state possible. Go ahead, sign that petition to get Ralph on your state's ballot. It does not mean that you have gone over to the dark side. It's a petition in support of his candidacy, not his election. The votes of women will be critical to victory in this election. Are you paying enough attention to this binding and strengthening part of the social fabric? The Democrats are saying that it will be the young single woman who makes the difference, but on issues of values, social cohesion, the family, marriage, and security it should rightly be the entire group of women who should naturally be supportive of the President. Think about this the next time you are talking with your women friends and prospective voters. Finally, BSO welcomes the increased scrutiny that Monsieur Kerry is getting regarding his service to the country as regards all matters military. From Medalgate to Comrade Kerry's indictment of Vietnam vets to Kerry's Senate opposition to all measures of national security in military and intelligence matters, American voters should be seriously asking themselves if this is the type of man who should be leading this nation in a time of war. SIDESHOWS "In Kerry's insistence that the commitment of our allies -- British, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Dutch, Australian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Japanese, Thai, Danish and others -- adds up to a big fat zero in a 'unilateral' American adventure, he has shown himself bereft of all diplomatic smarts. Talk about Ugly American. Only this one speaks perfect French." --Diana West The DNC is showing itself to be against freedom of speech once again. This time, it is the authors of 'Unfit for Command' and the over 250 other Vietnam vets who comprise the swift boat vets for truth group are raising the ire of the 'cRATS. It appears that the Senator has made a critical error in making his service in Vietnam the centerpiece of his candidacy. BSO expects either John or Tereza (or both) to have a meltdown soon. The first indications are the personnel shifts in the Kerry campaign today. We don't think they can take the heat... or the contradictions. But when you are that rich, who cares? wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww KERRY'S RECORD wwwww Send this to your pro-Kerry friends. wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww War Crimes Confession http://www.streamload.com/jmstein77/Kerry2.mp3 'Trying to acquire Purple Hearts' By Martin L. During that campaign we were distributed daily to over 50,000 people through a network of great people and supportive organizations. Although we do not anticipate having to prepare and send "Bush Support in Overdrive: The End Game" through mid-December like the last time, we will if we must. Want to see what was happening at 'BSO: The End Game' on 12/08/2000? Go to http://forums.delphiforums.com/BushActivist/messages?msg=10.1 President George W. Bush represents well the historical values that have made this country the best hope for humanity. We have seen those values come under attack from abroad and from the opposition, attacks which have been unprecedented in their scope and their viciousness. The President is doing all that is possible to prevail in this War on Terror against an enemy that would kill us all and drag the world back to the 11th century. Likewise, the President has pursued a sound economic program that has brought the economy out of an inherited recession to the point where we now have over 4% annual growth. It is not the time to trust our national security and our economy to the vague promises of a utopian future from two of the most liberal Senators in Congress. This time around, it is up to each and every one of us to do something beyond voting, as important as that civic duty is. All we ask is that you do your part. This newsletter will provide what we believe are the most effective Action Items that you can do to support the President's re-election. There are many whose work I have cut and pasted here.
