SELF CONFIDENCE-HOW TO GET IT
Developing Self confidence is essentially learned and earned. So many things
happen in our lives that deprive us of self-confidence if we allow it. Some
seem to look back at their mistakes and use these as landmarks in keeping them
from being successful. Rather then using their losses as means of learning from
them they use them as reasons for not trying again.
PERSISTANCE-NO MATTER WHAT. Don't let failures cripple you- and they can! They
can be road blocks toward your journey to success. Persistance pays off- the
redundant doing over- and over and over again- and acting as though the next
time things will work out will eventually get you there.-

WORKOUT---------------------------------------------------------------1-lIST
ACTIVITIES YOU FEEL YOU WERE SUCCESSFUL IN-either at work, at home, can be
volunteer work or initiating new ideas at work.
2- LIST ACTIVITIES YOU FEEL MOST COMFORTABLE WITH, WHERE YOU FEEL YOU HAVE
Elaine Agatha- has some greats success news which she lists in eight
Agatha, a two-stepping, boot-scooting cowgirlwho rides the Grand Entry of the
Fort Worth (Texas)Rodeo credits this idea to Connie Reeves inducted into the
National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame at age 95.At Connie's induction, she
jumped up on the stage and said,"Just do one thing:always saddle your own
horse." In other words always take care of yourself and learn what it takes to
do so.
Connie Reeves died after she fell off of her favorite mount, just before her
102nd birthday.
CONTACTING THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Bit of inside information that can make a difference.
Always attempt to contact the right party, don't waste time chatting with the
receptionist, or individuals who are not directly repsonsible for hiring and
that often is not the boss. So find out who that individual is. However, you
can acquire a good deal of valuable information from secretaries, so don't
overlook them. THey can fill in general inside information about how things are
managed in the place of employment, and why at the moment the company is seeking
a new employee, what happened to the other employee, what does the job entail,
what are the chances for job advancements, do employees seem contented, is the
boss easy to get along with, etc.
Now you may get a closed mouth secretary-one that seems not to wish to indulge
in anything. But then you may get a kind cooperate one that just loves to rave
about the boss, how wonderful working conditions are, etc. So take the chance a
strike up a conversation. When you start, make certain this secretary has time
EVERYONE CAN ACHIEVE- EVEN THE HANDICAP
In one of my University of Baltimore classes, a homework assignment I gave to
students was to visit offical building in Washington D.C. to see how their
architectural style were highly influenced by Ancient Greece. Sounds like a
lofty project, but it gave reason for students to visit our nation's capital
which under normal circumstances, they may not have done, and this was a
Western Civilization class.
Students became excited as they prepared for their trip which was not far,
since Washington D.C. is only 35 minutes from Baltimore.
But not all was well. One student felt left out, and was quite indignant about
my choice of this homework project.Bob was handicapped. The trip would be too
much for him and at that time, there were few handicap facilities. In the
beginning this student rebelled, and said he should be omitted from the project
but still get a grade for it.
Well that did'nt go over well with me. We finally decided he could do some
Obstacles to overcome to achieve success;
1-It's never been done before, so how can you make it successful. Do you have
enough creativity, energy, the desire to originate something real original?
2-Being a pioneer, an initiator takes courage. You need to be able to see
things as a whole, envision end results. Since your idea may be completely new,
you need to be capable of dealing with obstacles that are unique- that have
never been approached before. It's like you are writing a mystery book, and
then you have to create the plot, the various puzzles and then solve the
mystery- all by yourself.
3-When you originate something you are totaly responsible for it's outcome. You
have no one else to blame. So you need self confidence, self-empowerment, which
can be acquired. But it's all worth it, because the glory is all yours when you
are successful.
