This morning during my reflection time, I came across an article that simply
stated,  No More Power Cords?  At first, the article name didn t do anything to
me. Then I noticed the picture next to the article s tagline. It was a power
outlet with about ten cords plug into this power-strip.  My goodness  I
thought. Do you really need all those cords in one outlet?

When I clicked on the article, it spoke of cutting out the usage of too many
power cords, and briefly stated in the future people will use more wireless
connections. It said it was less hassle, and less harmful.

 The researcher who conducted this study highly recommended cutting out too
many cords to prevent hazards. After reading the article, these questions came
to mind

Today?s thought is short and to the point. Don?t compromise who you are and
what you stand for. Many challenges leave us weak and in a state where we feel
like, ?I might as well let my guard down---nothing good is happening for me.?

When we are faced with difficulties it is so easy to compromise your character
and what you stand for. More than anything, the Devil wants you to lower your
standards while you are waiting on a breakthrough, promise, or dream.

I?m reminded of Jesus when he was in the wilderness. The devil tried so hard to
get him to compromise his standards. He was trying to use the HARD TIMES of the
wilderness to make him quit. But Jesus refused to lower his standards for
temporary hardship.

For some strange reason when I got up this morning I felt really restless. I
didn t have good sleep at all. I kept waking up throughout the night thinking
about the future of my family. I love my family. My wife is a true blessing.
She completes me. My daughter is a princess. She is going to light up the world
with the Joy of the Lord. However, my restlessness left me thinking about the
legacy God is calling me to leave for my family---while living and after I m
gone. I kept thinking about the word  ALINGMENT . Immediately, my mind went
back to a time when I was a teenager. I had this big bright blue Chevrolet
Caprice. I ll never forget it. I loved that car. Well, one time while driving
the car I accidentally hit a curve. I hit the curve with my front tires, and it
through my alignment off.

The other day my wife and I received a phone call that left us in a daze for at
least 7 hours. I had just gotten back from Texas. I went to a youth conference
there at Teen Mania. It was awesome. Well, the day after I got back, we
received a phone call from my wife s grandmother.  Cynthia just had a heart
attack and has been rushed to the Hospital.  she said.

Cynthia is our aunt on my wife s side of the family.  Cecilia had gone down
there earlier that week and came back home to meet me as I arrived back in
town. She just saw and talked with her not even 48 hours before we got that
call. They said the heart attack almost took her life. The doctors had to shock
her three times to bring her back. We set there in awe because she doesn t
smoke, drink, or hardly curse, but for some reason it happened to her. Since
then she still remains in ICU. I m not going to go in anymore details. But I do

The greatest threat to birthing a dream is inconsistency---Better described as
laziness. It's so easy to start a new project, plan, goal, etc...But it is even
harder to follow through. That's why there are so many people who start New
Years  resolutions and give up on them before January ends. Once you get a
vision or dream---you can t just own the dream. The dream has to own you. It
has to be so imbedded in you that nothing will separate you from it. Not even
inconsistency. So when you re going through the times when it seems like you
can't make it---your dream will whisper, "YOU'RE TOO CLOSE!"

            Firstly, let me apologize for the title of this message. It is not
my intention to have you think I m mad at God. In fact, the name of this title
came to me at midnight during my daily meditation time. I love to think at
night. It seems like the whole world is asleep and it leaves no distractions.
As I sat in my favorite chair, I thought about how everything is very
scarce---gas is high, groceries are high, there is an immense number of
foreclosures every month, there are more divorces happening, people are getting
pink slips without warning, and bills are steadily pilling up.

            If you ve been a recipient of any of those things I listed (or
more) ---you re probably wondering,  God what s going on?  If you have a dream
you ve been working on for years and haven t seen the full manifestation come
into fruition yet---you re probably wondering,  God what s going on?

I ve been traveling and studying more than expected lately. I want you to know

remind you that God has already given you a desire, and the desire you have
should not be laid aside. Most of us, in this season of economic shift we
believe God has postponed the desire he s placed in us. Whenever there is a
time of famine we need to stand on God s foundational promises. One of those
promises is found in Philippians 1:6- He that has began a good work in you,
will complete it until the coming of Jesus Christ.

Good morning good people.  Today I just want to explore one verse with you from
Nehemiah. (Nehemiah) Chapter 4:14---"After I looked things over, I stood up and

brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.'"

There was a time when people came together to fight on one accord for things
like better education, land, equality, same rights, and community. When was the
last time you got in a good fight?

They didn't start a fight with the enemy, but they were prepared to DEFEND
themselves. You have the right to fight for your community.  You have the right

Good morning, today I studied Nehemiah chapter 1.  In this chapter, Nehemiah
receives news about the exiles that God brought out from Babylon, and how bad
their condition was.  Nehemiah immediately began to pray on their behalf,
reminding God about His covenant with Abraham.   God's Words to Abraham: "If
you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, but if you return to
me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest
horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have
chosen as a dwelling for my name."

REVELATION/UNDERSTANDING: We know that God is a master at chastening, allowing
all hell to break loose in our lives when we go against His commands.  Let's
observe the other part about what we will receive from God when we walk upright
and follow His commands. We KNOW God will give us correction, lets see how much

boy growing up, my friends and I would always take this untraditional route to
the grocery store.  We'd walk on the sidewalk until it led us behind a long row
of houses.  Once you got behind the houses, the sidewalk ended and there was a
bunch of tall weeds, trees and grass.  We had to make the decision to turn
around and go the long way by taking the streets, or we could make a new path
by going through the weeds, grass and trees.  We elected to take the grassy
route and what we discovered was that over the years, what was once tall grass
and weeds, not only became a dirt path, but the dirt path got wider and wider.
 Not only did we walk the path, but pretty soon, people would be riding bikes

traveling and speaking.  Nonetheless, today I studied Luke Chapter 3.

Verse 7- John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood
of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?"

QUESTION: What motivates your faith- fear of the future, or a desire to be a
better person in a better world? Some people wanted to be baptized by John so
they could escape eternal punishment, but they didn't turn to God for
salvation.

for an opportunity to hand him over.

REVELATION/UNDERSTANDING: We often times look for the wrong opportunities; be
it to get ahead in our careers, our finances, our relationships and even our
churches. Most of the time, whatever the wrong opportunity is, it is never
worth as much as we thought it would be once we acquire or achieve it.

You don't have to look for ways to kill others in order to gain or be elevated.
 There is plenty in this world.  You may need to get out of your narrow mindset
so that you can see it.

Good morning, good people.  I want to share something I witnessed over the
weekend. Saturday night I watched a prize fight between Jermaine Taylor and
 Kelly Pavlik on HBO.  It was a good fight and pretty close I might add.
Nonetheless, Jermaine Taylor lost the decision.  They stayed around for
interviews and the thing that stuck out in my mind was what Jermaine kept
saying.  He kept shaking his head and repeating, "I listened to my corner".

REVELATION/UNDERSTANDING: In life we will have our share of disappointments,
even those of us who are walking with God.  We do things at times, expecting a
certain outcome, and sometimes things don't go the way we planned it.  I
believe that God allows us to experience disappointment to test our character.
 Will we fold up and quit?  Will
we stop believing Him when things don't go our way? Do we only walk with Him
