What do you get if a canary flies through a screendoor?

Allergies & Your Pet

It's that time when pets and humans are more vulnerable to
each other than ever. Since this is the chilliest month of the year,
animals are more likely to be cooped up in the house.

These kinds of conditions can make our winter homes playgrounds
for various allergens. Our pets are vulnerable to the dust in the carpet,
the mold inside the walls of your old house and other pets. On
the other hand, warm moist times of the year or times when the
seasons are shifting are also high allergy times. Our pets are hardly
ever safe from them. Allergies are the most common conditions
affecting cats and according to Kansas State University, fifteen
percent of dogs suffer from common allergies.

Allergies are conditions that pets and humans share with equal
intensity, so we must use our powers of empathy to make them
as comfortable in their skin as possible.

What are pet allergies, what should you look for, and how
can you give relief?

Baboons & Milkshakes

A baboon walks into a bar, and orders a milkshake. The bartender
stops cleaning the counter, and stares.

The baboon repeats the order and hands him a ten dollar bill, so
the bartender slyly hands this baboon his milkshake.

While the baboon drank his milkshake, the bartender was thinking,
"What would a baboon know of money?" So, when the baboon
finished, the bartender handed the baboon one dollar change,
thinking the baboon wouldn't know better, and pass this by.

So as to make small talk, the bartender said, "We don't get many
baboons in here...", to which the baboon said, "Well, at nine
dollars a milkshake, it's not surprising!"

Peaches....Sadly Missed

Just lost my 18-year old cat, Peaches, but he was by far my
favorite cat so far (grew up with dogs but have had cats for
20 years).  Peaches was more like a dog.  I trained him
not to get on tables and cabinets, he came when I called him
and he laid right next to me when I sat on the couch.  At
night, Peaches slept with me curled under my arm "spoon fashion"
just like a person.

Peaches also walked on a lease and stretched himself up
standing on his hind legs to drink out of the birdbath.  I have a
photograph of him sitting like a person in my recliner, resting
on his back and paw on arm rest and all.

Miss him and so do his sisters, Punkin and Missy.

My husband said it was him or the cat.

I miss him sometimes.

Adrenal disease is a very common disease of ferrets (at
least in North America), with the primary sign being hair
loss.
