My Dog's Smarter Than Your Dog

Four men were bragging about how smart their dogs are. The first
man was an Engineer, the second man was an Accountant, the third
man was a Chemist, the fourth was a Government Worker.

To show off, the Engineer called to his dog. "T-square, do your
stuff." T-square trotted over to a desk, took out some paper and
a pen and promptly drew a circle, a square, and a triangle.
Everyone agreed that was pretty smart.

But the Accountant said his dog could do better. He called his
dog and said, "Spreadsheet, do your stuff." Spreadsheet went out
into the kitchen and returned with a dozen cookies. He divided
them into 4 equal piles of 3 cookies each. Everyone agreed that
was good.

But the Chemist said his dog could do better. He called his dog
and said, "Measure, do your stuff." Measure got up, walked over
to the fridge, took out a quart of milk, got a 10 ounce glass
from the cupboard and poured exactly 8 ounces without spilling a
drop. Everyone agreed that was good.

Then the three men turned to the Government Worker and said,
"What can your dog do?" The Government Worker called to his dog
and said, "Coffee Break, do your stuff."

Coffee Break jumped to his feet, ate the cookies, drank the milk,
dumped on the paper, sexually assaulted the other three dogs,
claimed he injured his back while doing so, filed a grievance
report for unsafe working conditions, put in for Workers
Compensation and went home for the rest of the day on sick leave.

The Army Quartermaster Corps began the U.S. Armed Forces first
war dog training during WWII.  By 1945 they had trained almost
10,000 war dogs for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast
Guard.   Fifteen War Dog platoons served overseas in World War
II. Seven saw service in Europe and eight in the Pacific.  In
1951 the responsibility for training military dogs was given to
the Military Police Corps.  Dogs continued to serve the armed
forces with distinction in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm,
Afghanistan and Iraq and many recent contingency operations.

The sugar glider  is a marsupial mammal, similar to the opossum.
They are omnivorous, meaning that they eat both plant and animal
matter. Their basic diet consists of 75% fruit, vegetables,
seeds, and grains and 25% insects such as meal worms and crickets,
cooked meat, cooked eggs, and low-fat cheeses. A calcium and
vitamin supplement can be sprinkled onto the foods. Sugar gliders
like dried fruits such as raisins, and they seem especially fond of
mealworms. Cottage cheese and tofu are good calcium sources
that they will also eat.

During break time at obedience school, two dogs were talking. One
said to the other..."The thing I hate about obedience school is
you learn ALL this stuff you'll never use in the real world."

Your Pet's On Parade

Skippy and Merlin

4 years ago I lost my lovely cat Whiskie - he was 13 years old - from
kidney failure - he was an adorable affectionate cat and we all miss him.
However, soon after he passed away we got two adorable male cats -
brothers - Skippy and Merlin.

Skippy is a ginger tom and is very affectionate and lovable and won't
hurt a fly.  His brother Merlin was a lovely white long haired cat also
very affectionate etc.  His favorite pastime was collecting feathers
himself and we also collected them.  He played and played all day
every day for hours on end.  He would not harm anything either.

He and his brother have Siamese in their looks and they loved one
another.  The very first morning we had them they rushed upstairs to our
bedroom, jumped on our bed and kissed us.  They were 6 months
old then.

Unfortunately on the 22nd October 2004 Merlin was 3 years old was
run over and died instantly, the vet said he did not know anything
about it as it happened so quickly.  I found the body and a close friend
took him in for me and ran us to the vet the next day.  We do not
know who the driver was - the vet said it was a hit and run.

My family and his brother miss him very much.  We talk to him and our
other deceased pets every day.  We now have a beautiful little white
cat who is 3 months old and we have named her Merlinda after Merlin.
