A survey by shopzilla.com, reports that 72 percent of women say
that their dogs make them happier than their jobs while 56
percent say that their dogs are more affectionate than their mates!

*  Animal rights activists have blasted Kelly Osbourne for dying her
pet dog's fur bright pink. The daughter of rocker Ozzy has
incurred the wrath of PETA members, who insist lathering her bulldog
Piglet's coat in human hair dye poses a threat to the furry pooch's health.

PETA is urging Osbourne to treat her dog like a pet, not a fashion
accessory. PETA's Michael McGraw says, "It is very irresponsible
to subject a 13-week-old puppy to chemicals
that most people aren't willing to put on their heads."
 

*  Pop Star Mariah Carey was so lonely during a Los Angeles Shoot
she had her Jack Russell terrier named Jack, flown first class
from New York at a cost of $2,850 to be with her.

But she was miserable in her suite, until her beloved Jack
Russell, Jack arrived to keep her company later in the day.
 
 

*  Paris Hilton has designed a range of Jewelry for dogs.
She said: "In addition to my own sense of style, I think a lot of
people admire Tinkerbell's look as well, which is why I decided
to include a pet collar as part of the new collection."
The necklace-like collar, which can be bought for around £10,
features a simple chain and crystal pendant in the shape of a bone.

Your Pet's On Parade

$2,000 Dollars Later....

I worked in a pet store for many years and I have been a veterinary
technician for five years.  There were many days when I would arrive at
work and I would see an abandoned animal in front of the store.

They were mostly cats, but occasionally we got hamsters, snakes,
rabbits, and even fish.  We would do our best to adopt them out without
sending them to a shelter.

One day one of my coworkers was throwing out garbage and
saw a duffle bag.  As he was about to throw it out, it started to move.
He was afraid to look inside so he brought it to me. I opened it up
and it was a beautiful seal point himalayan cat.  When I got her out I
realized that her fur was matted from the back of her neck to the
base of her tail.

The groomer and I worked for two hours trying to shave her and
clean her up.  When we were done I looked at her and I fell in love.
I really wanted to take her home and give her the life she deserved.
I convinced my boyfriend that it would be just a trial run and we would
find her a home, well we did.

We have had her for almost four years now.  In those four years, she
broke a scanner, printer, set of blinds, and cost $2000 for surgery to
remove a foreign body.  Despite all that we love her and
wouldn't change a thing.
