Featured News 1: Church bells to be silenced?
A Lancashire village could be forced to stop its church bells after two centuries - after a single complaint.
The bells at St Cuthbert's Church, in Halsal, have been a tradition in the village for more than 200 years.
But one resident has complained to the council that the bells are keeping children awake at night.
Other villagers have now started a petition to save the bells, reports the BBC.
The Rev Paul Robinson said: "We've been told it's a noise and nuisance so we may have to stop the chimes completely or switch them off during certain times.”
"The chimes are traditional and in days gone by would let people working in the fields know what time of day it was. Today, those chimes remind people of the importance of the church in the community."
A spokeswoman for West Lancashire District Council said: "The council is very mindful of strong local concerns and fully recognises the clock has been present for many decades without any previous complaints.”
"However, the council has no choice but to take heed of the national legislation which demands that any complaints are fully investigated and that formal action is taken where necessary."

Featured News 2: Man leaves money to strangers
A Portuguese man left money in his will to 70 people he randomly picked out of the phone book.
Luis da Camara made his will at the age of 29 by picking names out of the Lisbon telephone directory.
He had no family, reports the Mirror.
Luis died earlier this month, aged just 42, leaving two houses, a car and £17,000 in cash.
The 70 strangers will each get around £6,000.
One beneficiary Helena Suares, 76, said: "At first I thought it was a hoax, but I need the money and I am very grateful to him."

Featured News 3: Couple play crazy golf to decide surname
A New Zealand bride and groom played 18 holes of crazy golf to decide who would give up their surname.
Greg Marshall and Adrienne Foley, who married in Levin, wore their wedding outfits for the high stakes game.
They agreed on the contest after Adrienne complained: "Why do they always take the guy's name?"
As well as being hampered by her bridal dress, she had her husband's form to worry about, reports Stuff.co.nz.
"Greg's a keen golfer. He's been playing since pretty much forever," Adrienne said.
But she did her best to put him under pressure: "For about five months, I'd been going round the house saying, `Gregory James Foley, that sounds good'," she said.
And when the bride managed a hole-in-one on the ninth hole, Greg knew he was in danger.
But, eventually, he pulled ahead to a three-shot lead on the 17th hole and clinched the game on the last hole.
"He got there, he won, so I have to take his name," Mrs Marshall conceded. "Next time, it's pool - or something more even."
