Did you make any money last year?

That's a question that you can ask yourself. You
may want only ask it silently since you didn't make any or not enough.
That's OK though. I'm sure that by studying marketing in general as well
as internet marketing you gain knowledge that you can apply to the next
"Big thing on the Internet" that makes money.
The only problem is where to start? It is a big problem
since many pitch big buck expensive programs that usually leave your
wallet very flat. Plus a deflated ego, since you couldn't figure out just
to do it to make it work.
I have always found that the less expensive ebooks and
programs work out better. The expensive things are just that, expensive.
Maybe too complicated to fit in with what you have in mind. I have found
that I usually don't have the prime time available to execute the program,
so I try this and that and probably will fail.
I think that this is what happens to many of us.
Now, when you and I fail, we tense up. Maybe we don't
really show it, but we do. When that happens we are like a broke salesman.
Here is what a broke salesman is like.
A broke salesman is very anxious for a sale. This shows
up through to the customer. The customer feels the pressure the salesman is
bringing to the sale, and the customer starts to resist. This is usually
very subtle, and neither one is aware that it is happening. Soon the
salesman attempts to close the sale and finds that he has lost it.
This happens to us as we try to make money on the
internet. Our posture, demeanor and feelings show through, and the
customer feels it and you lose a sale. You say, how, since we aren't face
to face. Here's how. It shows through your web page layout and your
sales text. Your desire to sell to the customer gets so strong that they
back away.
Now we must analyze the sales position we have and
soften it up some, test the results, and find the sweet spot in our sales
system. It helps to have the feeling that we really are successful. And
when we make up our sales materials we look like we are prosperous. This
comes through to our customer and we can close the sale. Thinking positive
can have good results.
