Insights for this month The importance of Focus How difficult it can be sometimes to keep ourselves free from envy, hate and anger? It starts with slight irritation with our circumstances and then annoyance. Finally we are overcome by fury and frustration. At this time any attempt to alleviate it only increases it further. Is there a way to deal with this? I would say yes, but it requires practice. Here is something that I found that helps. First of all, do not do anything to curb this annoyance or suppress the anger. If we are alert to the initial spark or annoyance or irritation and immediately turn our focus away from ourselves then it prevents any further problems. For this we have to stop thinking about ourselves and turns the focus away completely. You can do something as simple as going out for a walk, helping someone out or do some chores. But make sure that we become so involved in it that our perspective changes. Perspective is the keyword here. Once we involve in something that makes us forget ourselves we become open to new perspectives that brings healing. Try it out the next time you feel haunted by these feelings.
