Subject: Subscriber, Clean those Brushes for Healthier Skin! - August25, 2006

Yes, it's true Subscriber, you should clean your makeup brushes!  Even though Mineral Makeup does not hold bacteria your brushes can!

A dirty makeup brush is not very hygienic, which can also be the cause of breakouts - itchy rashes or irritation to those with sensitive skin or rosacea.

This is why we recommend cleaning your brush at least once a month, if not twice! Your brush will eventually have a build up of makeup, face oils and bacteria.

We also highly recommend that if you are switching from another brand of Mineral Makeup to ours, that you clean your brush before trying your Mineral Silk Makeup.  Makeup from other companies can be trapped in your brush hairs and not give you a true indicator on how well our makeup works!

Proper care and cleaning of makeup brushes will ensure that your makeup goes on flawlessly and your brushes will have a longer life!

Be sure to wash your eyeliner brush after each use and your eyeshadow brushes at least every two weeks.  If you are changing colors constantly, I recommend you rinse it under water after each use!

A good quality natural hair brush should and will last for years if it is taking care of properly!

Here is a quick and easy way to clean your Brushes.  Watch the Video  for step by step instructions here --> www.MineralSilk.com/video/brush-clean.html
When your brush is dirty, rinse it under luke warm water, with the bristles down.  Place some Antibacterial soap in the palm of your hand and swirl the brush into the soap until it creates a soapy lather.

Rinse the brush and repeat the process running the hair under water until it runs clear. Gently squeeze the bristles and fluff, let it dry over night with the bristles facing down. If you lay it flat or stand them up, water will get into the handle and loosen any glue that is holding the bristles in.

Some of the brushes do not have glue to hold in the bristles, they actually crimp the handle to hold the hair in.  So be sure when you are squeezing the hair that you don't pull or you may find your hand full of brush hair!
