July05, 2007 - Mineral Silk Trivia Answer >> |
|
Hi Subscriber, can you believe that July is right around the corner! Why is it, the cold winter months never seem to pass as quickly as the relaxing summer months?
Summer can be a wonderful time but, to some it may not be as pleasant. Some people live in very hot climates, without the benefit of air conditioning, and dread the coming of the heat.
I don't know about you but, we have been doing things to beat the heat here in the Midwest. One is enjoying our pool we had installed late last year. I think we were only able to swim in it about 6 times last year before we had to close it for the winter! We are definitely getting our use out of it this year!
Below are some other ways to keep cool in the summer heat!
But first, be one of the first three people to answer the following question correctly and you will receive our brand new Eye Shadow we named,"Sweet Tea." It may not keep you as cool as sipping on a Iced Sweet Tea but, your eyes will look cool and sparkling with our newest addition to the Mineral Silk line of eye shadows!
Not only will the first three correct answers win our new favorite Eye Shadow but, they will also receive a coupon for 20% off their next order!
Here's the Trivia Question -
How much sunscreen do dermatologists recommend you apply to your skin approximately every 2 to 3 hours?
*Just hit reply to this email and send us your answer! Be quick, as the first THREE correct answers will win!
Now, Here's How to Keep Cool this Summer-
Do not cook in your home, Once you put heat in your home, it is hard to get rid of. Make sandwiches, buy something, use the barbecue, or use it as an excuse to go out to dinner! Keep lights off, and any thing else that creates heat. Anything that plugs in may be generating heat keeping on various systems in the unit. Do the "touch test" around your home. Anything that feels warm, unplug it.
Drink plenty of water. Eat Popsicles and other cool items. Be careful about drinking anything too cold. Water will cool you off. Many people keep a small pool outside for the kids, let them run through the sprinklers, or just hose themselves off when they get hot. It works for adults also! Wear clothes that breathe. Cotton is wonderful. Do not wear anything synthetic. Keep your shoes off, and tie your hair up or be brave and cut 8 inches off like I did last week!
Leave your home during the hottest part of the day. Go shopping, or visit a building that is air conditioned. If you have shade outside, sit outside and just rest. If it is very hot, you won't have the energy to do much else. Don't beat yourself up because you aren't accomplishing anything. When it is hot, your body is lethargic. Don't push it.
If it just doesn't cool off at night, think about sleeping in a hammock. When it is VERY hot, a bed can feel like sleeping on a grill. In many parts of the world, the only way people can sleep at night is in a hammock outside.
