ACTOR  E-LETTER ** Spring 2005 **
Welcome to the Spring 2005 edition of the A.C.T.O.R. Comic Fund
e-letter!!! We are sure you are all wondering what has been going
on with A.C.T.O.R. since our Fall 2004 e-letter, so let's get
right to it.
 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
1.    A.C.T.O.R. Attends WonderCon for the First Time.
2.    George Perez Brings in Over $5,000 at Wizard World Los
Angeles.
3.    Great Projects in the Making.
4.    New "Lazy Man's" Donation Tools.
5.    A.C.T.O.R.'s Coming to a City Near You.
 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

1.     San Francisco Gets a Taste of A.C.T.O.R.

WonderCon was an outstanding event thanks to the help of artists
Terry Moore, Sergio Aragones, Ryan Sook, Dan Brereton as well as
dedicated volunteer Cullen Stapleton. Though scheduled for only
one hour, Terry Moore graciously worked at our booth for almost
three hours and then overnight to finish up some sketches for the
fans. He is a superstar and the reason we generated most of our
funds. Sergio Aragones was another fantastic guest who is very
passionate about our cause.
 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

2.     George Perez is a Lean, Mean, Fund-Bringing Machine!!

Wizard World L.A. was an amazing success in great part due to the
help of George Perez, who brought in over $5,000. The money raised
will be split between A.C.T.O.R. and a grant to Bill Mantlo's
guardian, to supplement his continued care needs. Perez dedicated
over nine hours working our booth and was a great sport.  Not only
did he have lunch with our e-Bay auction winner on Sunday, but he
also had lunch with a very generous donor on Saturday. Other
artists that contributed to the convention's success were J. G.
Jones, Brian Pulido, Angel Medina and Josh Middleton.
 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

3.    A.C.T.O.R. Gives Back.

We have been very busy bees at A.C.T.O.R. and one of our completed
projects is the A.C.T.O.R. donation sticker. Now every time you
donate to A.C.T.O.R. at a convention, you'll get a monkey sticker
drawn by Frank Cho. This is just a taste of the many exciting
things coming up in the near future.  Stay tuned...
 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

4.     New Donation Tools.

Our latest fundraising efforts are definitely Lazy Man's tools!

novels? Go to www.actorcomicfund.org and scroll down to the bottom

THE RETURN OF THE LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS

On August 31, Heroic Publishing's flagship superhero team, THE
LEAGUE OF CHAMPIONS, returns in a two-part full-color adventure
that crosses over into FLARE ADVENTURES #14 and FLARE #27. In "The
Mole in the Mountain," Heroic's most popular character, FLARE,
teams up once again with ICESTAR, PSYCHE, THE HUNTSMAN, DOCTOR
ARCANE, and the ever-naughty BLACK ENCHANTRESS on a mission into
Mount Weather to save President Bush from being replaced by an
evil duplicate manufactured by the occult criminal organization,
DEMON.

The first part of "The Mole in the Mountain," which will appear on
August 31 in Flare Adventures #14, was written by Lou Mougin,
penciled by Henry Martinez, inked by Rob Lansley, and colored by
Frank Martin Jr. The cover for that issue was drawn by Henry
Martinez and John Flaherty, and colored by Mike Estlick.

The second part of "The Mole in the Mountain," which will appear
on August 31 in Flare #27, was written by Lou Mougin, penciled by
Mark Evans, inked by Terry Pallot, and colored by Frank Martin
Jr. The cover for that issue was drawn by Terry Pallot and
colored by Mike Estlick.

This year's two-part summer special is designed to test the water
for a possible return of the League of Champions in their own
monthly magazine. If that comes to pass, artist Henry Martinez,
who penciled the chapter of "The Mole in the Mountain" that
appears in Flare Adventures #14, is on tap to become the regular
pencil artist. FLARE writer Wilson Hill is on tap for at least the
initial League of Champions storyline.

The members of the League of Champions who appear in "The Mole in
the Mountain" include half a dozen fan favorites chosen from
Heroic Publishing's roster of costumed characters:

FLARE, of course, could not be left out. It was Heroic
Publishing's glittering goddess of the light who last summer
launched the revival of Heroic's line of full-color comics. With
the critical success of the new FLARE and BLACK ENCHANTRESS comic
books also sparking a revival of interest in their association
the League of Champions, it made sense to set aside one month in
the summer of 2005 in order to give new fans a look at the entire
team.

THE BLACK ENCHANTRESS is the wild card in the League of
Champions. As an avowed magical megavillain with ambitions for
world conquest of her own, she'd be an anomalous presence in any
grouping of heroes. But it's the Black Enchantress's own ambition
that leads her to oppose any effort made by anyone else who might
seek to take control. So when it comes to fighting the other bad
guys, she and the Champions can indeed make common cause.

ICESTAR, Heroic Publishing's cold-powered hero, was the first of
his generation of costumed adventurers, and has always been one
of the driving forces behind the League of Champions. He
currently appears regularly in Heroic Publishing's new TALES OF
THE CHAMPIONS comic book.

PSYCHE is Heroic Publishing's beautiful scarlet-tressed occult
detective. She currently appears regularly in issues of BLACK
ENCHANTRESS, and will soon be starring in the new Heroic
Publishing title, WITCHGIRLS INC.

THE HUNTSMAN, Heroic Publishing's master of weaponry and military
espionage, has recently appeared in supporting roles in issues of
FLARE, and will be featured in upcoming issues of TALES OF THE
CHAMPIONS.

DOCTOR ARCANE, the mystic guardian of Earth's dimension, will
return to active duty in a forthcoming issue of the not-yet-
scheduled new Heroic Publishing title, TALES OF THE ARCANE.

Long-time fans of the Heroic Publishing titles will be pleased to
learn that the two-part "Mole in the Mountain" crossover also
features the return to villainous glory of the occult criminal
organization, DEMON. As originally envisioned by its creator,
Andrew M. Robinson, DEMON is a long-term threat, a quasi-
religious organization that for centuries has worshipped a
demonic lord who recruits followers of power and influence
throughout all the many dimensional worlds. A branch of DEMON was
one of the threats faced by the League in the very first
Champions mini-series published back in 1986 by Eclipse Comics.
Now DEMON is back with a new plan to take control of the armed
might of the United States of America.
And it's up to the League of Champions to stop them.
