SPOILER WARNING: Some plot details may be revealed in these
reviews!

Title: Legend of Isis: Beginnings (graphic novel)
Publisher: Alias Enterprises/Blue Water Productions
Writer: Ryan Scott Ottney
Pencilers: R.V. Valdez, Frank Mills & Ferinand Gertes, Roger Crue
Inkers: Rick Ketchum, Todd Swain & LeBean, Oclair Albert & Edde
Wagner
Price: $ 9.99 US
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: As sister plots against sister we dive head first into
a world of mysteries in ancient Egypt. In Book One R.V. Valdez
shows off his artistic skills to perfection. Her sister Nephty's
transports Isis to the modern world through magic than she marries
Osiris in her place.
Isis is shown confused as she tries to adjust to her new
surroundings. Her brother Set showing up to kill her doesn't help.
With her Staff of Luxor and it's power she is a match for Set.
Their battle is swift and brutel.
Book Two continues the battle with Set absorbing spiders so he
can continue fighting. The lettering for his new spider voice
looks awesome.
In this world she is considered a super hero and the authorities
do not take it kindly when she stops a criminal. When she uses her
bracelet to deflect bullets it kind of reminds you of Wonder
Woman. She goes to see the 10th Muse to see if she can help her go
home 5,000 years in the past.
Book Three has plenty of heroes. Overthrow is collecting powers
from heroes so as he attacks Trident, Atlas, the 10th Muse, Isis
and Guardsman join in. The one incarnation of the Muse passes the
power back to the previous 10th Muse she is the intended Muse.
Together with the other heroes they form the team The Odyssey.
They do make a unique team.
The pin-ups have some lovely poses of Isis. In her gold and
white outfit the mini skirt showing off her long legs makes her
look enticing. The cover and back cover also both have gorgeous
poses of her.
In this graphic novel we get a cute extra story about "Violet
Rose". Its written by Emma Davis with art by Mikeoart.com and
assists from Erin O'Sullivan. Ciara Hachette is in the fifth grade
she can talk to things but not people. It is like she astro
projects while investigating. She has a great adventure flying,
talking to a ghost and solves a missing person's case. Ciara looks
cute, the whole story is a fun little adventure.

Title: Legend of Isis # 1
Publisher: Alias Enterprises/Blue Water Productions
Writer: Ryan Scott Ottney
Penciler: Rod Fontana
Inker: Billy Crooks
Price: $ 2.99 US
Rating: 2 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: The ancient egyptian mummy come to life is a walking
nightmare. The mumy is defeated and loses it's head and arm but
how?
There is a lot of filler. The characters are standing around to
much without much happening.
There are only 18 pages of story which is kind of short. The art
seems compacted as if the characters were slightly squished down.
As for showing off the people most of the drawings do not show the
whole person they do not show from the waist down.
The egyptian gods unfortunately are not impressive at all. They
are a sad looking lot.
When Isis uses her staff the flowing power looks like enchanted
water. It looks fantastic.

Title: Judo Girl # 2
Publisher: Alias Enterprises/Blue Water Productions
Writer: Terrence Griep
Penciler: Nadir Balan
Inker: Sven Dyson
Price: $ 2.99 US
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: Wow is Judo Girl looking hot. The poses are provocative.
Nadir Balan truly knows how to capture the beauty of the female
form. Judo-Bot is drawn as an unfeeling murderous cyborg. The
colors throughout are wonderfully done.
It is brought across that Judo Girl loves her brother. She wants
him back as he was. But she now has to worry more about Captain
Steel who no longer wants to rule the world but he now wants to
destroy it.
Judo Girl is sexy and exciting, she will take you on a thrill
ride.
On the flip side of this comic you get a retro story of Judo
Girl. Judo Girl looks groovy leaping through a tree. Captain Steel
and the Judo Twins were both after the meteorite that enlarged Judo
Boy to gigantic proportions but didn't enlarge his mind. Captain
Steel and Judo Girl work together to try to stop Judo Boy. She
does have some nice moves. Her sixties talk is entertaining. The
60's never looked so good.

Title: The Phantom # 7
Publisher: Moonstone
Writer: Ben Raab
Penciler: Pat Quinn
Inker: Pat Quinn & Ken Wheaton
Price: $ 3.50 US
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: The Sky Band are a group of deadly females they are
kidnapping rich and powerful people who want to help people in
need through a third world economic summit. Diana Palmer-Walker is
in charge of setting it up so when they disappear she calls in her
husband The Phantom. The Phantom and Diana know what they are
doing, they operate as professionals setting up the Sky Band.
The Sky Band women are good and the Phantom's no hitting females
policy gives them the advantage. The women are drawn sexy but not
overly so. The Phantom in his purple suit and black mask cuts a
striking figure.
The Ghost Who Walks is a true hero who fights for whats right.
He is what all heroes should aspire to be.

Title: Conan # 17
Publisher: Dark Horse
Writer: Kurt Busiek
Artist: Cary Nord
Price: $ 2.99 US
Rating: 3 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: Conan is learning about being a thief in the city of
thieves. He steals a cursed bowl which you just know is going to
cause trouble for him, maybe. He sells it to a fence. The story
does show us a realistic view of a thief.
The art is somber looking it is in pastel colors. Conan's
musculature is well shown. The females are sexy with lots of nice
curves.
Conan is a rough and tough barbarian. Although he is shown more
civilized than most civilized people. Even while he's pounding
them to pulp. He is always a barbarian at heart.

Title: Brian Pulido's War Angel # 3
Publisher: Avatar
Writer: Brian Pulido
Penciler: Walter Geovani
Inker: Datty
Price: $ 3.50 US
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: War Angel sets up the vampires and warlocks so they are
fighting each other. War Angel's costume is sexy and very
revealing. All the vampires and warlocks are now after her after
they found out she was setting them up. She is out for herself and
just wants money.
This comic is willing to push the limits as it has a vampire
brother and sister making love to each other. War Angel is a
lesbian who seems to enjoy slaughtering monsters. This title has
lots of swearing, sexual situations and half naked babes. Also
plenty of gore and violence. War Angel kills a lot of vampires and
warlocks, blows up a lot of the town than leaves.
Her next stop the hive a place full of flying mermaid babes.
Just what any lesbian would want.
The ending is kind of incomplete. She just leaves when she finds
out there is no money.
But for over the top action and thrills and hot horny babes you
are definitely in the right place.

Title: Brian Pulido's Medieval Lady Death # 4
Publisher: Avatar
Writer: Brian Pulido
Penciler: Di Amorim
Inker: Alex Lei
Price: $ 3.99 US
Rating: 2 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: The Archbishop Vittorio is an imposing figure. His sword
fight with Lady Death shows passion from both of them. Lady Death
looks good in black but she is hidden in shadows to much as is her
companion Wolf.
Seeing and hearing Lady Death called Auntie Hope well it kind of
undermines her warrior image. She is portrayed as just a good
warrior not a great one.
This Medieval Lady Death is still a pale reflection of the
original.

Title: Captain America # 7
Publisher: Marvel
Writer: Ed Brubaker
Artist: John Paul Leon
Price: $ 2.99 US, $ 4.25 Can
Rating: 1 star out of 5 stars
Comments: This issue starts out morosely as we learn Jack Monroe
(Nomad) is dying with no hope of a cure. He is a pitiful
character. Watching him feel sorry for himself gets boring real
quick. He is, and was a lame hero. The art is bland, it lacks
definition.
Jack Monroe decides to spend his last months protecting his
daughter. He is putting some drug dealers out of business that
operate at his daughter's school. It was all just in his mind
there were no drug dealers. Maybe he just wanted to try to give
his life meaning. Than someone shoots him dead. Why?
Captain America isn't even in this comic. Look at the title
wouldn't you expect him to be?

Title: Black Panther # 5
Publisher: Marvel
Writer: Reginald Hudlin
Penciler: John Romita Jr.
Inker: Klaus Janson
Price: $ 2.99 US, $ 4.25 Can
Rating: 5 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: As Klaws forces attack the Black Panther responds. Klaw
knows just how to use his resources but so does T'Challa. The
Rhino leaves a wake of destruction on the ground. T'Challa goes
one on one with the Black Knight. It is a great aerial battle. We
see that to defend his country T'Challa can be ruthless and
cruel.
The US government sends in a cyborg zombie unit. But who's side
will they be on?
The action is all over in the air on the ground even coming out
of the water. Can even the Black Panther move fast enough to
handle it all.
Things pick up as Klaw captures the Queen in this chess game.
Now what will be the Black Panther's next move?
Klaw and his band are drawn as a rough looking bunch. They are
all willing to push to the limit and willing to kill anything in
their way.
The Black Panther will do whatever it takes to defend his
country. He is the King. Long live the King.

Title: Amazing Spider-Man # 521
Publisher: Marvel
Writer: J. Michael Straczynski
Penciler: Mike Deodato
Inker: Joe Pimentel
Price: $ 2.50 US, $ 3.50 Can
Rating: 3 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: Aw Peter and MJ are so in love. These two are shown as
the perfect couple. Peter actually gets to see her play without
any interruptions. Also Peter seems to be the only one who knows
what is going on with Hydra. It was great having Captain America
showing confidence in Peter even though he is the new Avenger and
lots younger than Cap. Best of all was seeing Peter and MJ just
being a happy couple. MJ is bubbling over with enthusiasm at her
successful performance.
Hydra has a plan to kill a nation. Their plan is insidious. They
are terrorists and their plan will make them the most infamous
organization in history.
The only problem is some sleaze bag reporter writes a story
about MJ and Tony Stark having an affair. Its all made up of
course but it will probably cause trouble. Why can't Marvel leave
the happy couple alone?

Title: House Of M # 2
Publisher: Marvel
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Penciler: Olivier Coipel
Inker: Tim Townsend
Price: $ 2.99 US, $ 4.25 Can
Rating: 3 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: In this world of the Scarlet Witch's making things are
quite different. Mutants and humans live in peace. Carol Danvers
is the most popular super hero in America. She is drawn
wonderfully soaring through the sky. So much of the world as we
knew it has changed. A lot of it for the better.
Ororo is shown wearing a pink and black dress that makes her
look drop dead gorgeous.
This issue doesn't have much happening it just kind of shows
off the new world. It is still a world of Marvels it's just
different.

Title: G.R.A.V.E. GRRRLS: Destroyers  Of The Dead # 1
Publisher: Midnight Show
Writer: Scott Licina
Artist: Ken W. Wolak
Price: $ 2.99 US
Rating: 5 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: When the zombies appear they are disgusting looking.
Blood and rotting flesh are vividly shown in rich colors. As Boom
Boom goes into action the bullets fly in all out action. The
blood and guts make a gory mess. Boom Boom's facial expressions
are clearly illustrated. They are well done.
The 'Born Again' Chip started this all when it was sabotaged.
Now zombies roam free.
Suzi Sioux is in a really cool pose as she lands on her
backside. She is drawn with grave as she moves dealing death to
the unliving. She is surrounded by insane looking, gory, maniacal
zombies that just want to eat her.
Suzi Sioux and Boom Boom are two sexy as hell babes that can
kick butt.
The Preview of "Project Born Again" has the zombies escaping.
They are putrid looking. They are out, they are gross and there
coming for you.
If you want hot babes, killer zombies and gore galore you'll be
right at home here. So sit back relax and enjoy. But watch out
for that pool of blood!

Title: G.R.A.V.E. GRRRLS: Destroyers Of The Dead # 2
Publisher: Midnight Show
Writer: Scott Licina
Artist: Ken W. Wolak
Price: $ 2.99 US
Rating: 5 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: Suzi Sioux can really kick butt and rip zombies apart.
The gore and blood are all over the place. Suzi is beautiful. As
the zombies attack they start biting and one chomps down good on
her cute butt. Suzi is definitely not squeamish as she gets
covered in blood.
Kamikazee is introduced this issue she is a mysterious figure.
As zombies attack a concert we see the flesh being ripped off
people, bare bones are exposed. It's gross all the blood and
guts. Than Kamikazee attacks. The two page spread of her going
through the skylight her throwing stars already flying it is a
spectacular drawing. As she launches into the fight she is drawn
moving with a easy flowing movement. Every punch or kick explodes
a zombie head. These zombies are rotting messes. She finds out
that Suzi Sioux's father just may be behind the rash of zombie
outbreaks. Why would any sane person want to do that? Who knows,
but while they do it we get to see a few sexy babes kick some
zombie butt.
The "Evilman" preview has a little guy that looks a bit like a
combination of Slimer and Mr. Peanut but with a sadistic side. He
gives us the low down on zombies. He is a strange little fellow
who just enjoys eating zombie brains.

Title: Batgirl # 65
Publisher: DC
Writer: Anderson Gabrych
Penciler: Pop Mhan
Inker: Cam Smith
Price: $ 2.50 US, $ 3.50 Can
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: Aw Cassandra looks so cute having a bubble bath.
Cassandra decides she wants to know who her mother is. Batman
doesn't know so she goes to Cain her father. Everyone suspects
who her mother is but Cain can tell her for sure. But after she
beats him to a bloody pulp he still doesn't tell her. So she
gives him his father's day card and leaves him with a smile on
his face. He is sick. But he still loves his daughter. Cassandra
is determined though to find out who her mother is and she will
not stop till she knows. Her determination comes through in her
actions and words.
The art shows Batgirl off wonderfully. Her body moves with such
grave. Each movement is shown as a thing of beauty. Cain the big
bad assassin is shown as a tough guy as he just takes the
beating. The final one page pin-up of Cain a loving father laying
bloody on the floor does bring across a father's love for his
daughter.
Batgirl is a dynamic young girl.

Title: Legion of Super-Heroes # 7
Publisher: DC
Writer: Mark Waid
Penciler: Barry Kitson
Inkers: Art Thibert & James Pascoe
Price: $ 2.99 US, $ 4.00 Can
Rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: The best part about the LSH is the way they work
together. Cosmic Boy acts like an over protective father.
Brainiac 5 is like the brother-in-law who wants to run the
family. Triplicate Girl is squealing tattle tale
daughter.
Brainac 5's home world is attacked. The populace is left
virtually brain dead from some sort of virus infection. Brainy
though will not let it effect him through sheer strength of will.
He is going to save his people. His determination could not be
shown any better.
The team with all its diverse people make for an entertaining
read. The art as usual is great. Al Brainac 5's race are well
shown as infected zombie like victims.
  Long Live the Legion!

Title: New Avengers # 6
Publisher: Marvel
Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Penciler: David Finch
Inker: Danny Miki
Price: $ 2.25 US, $ 3.25 Can
Rating: 3 stars out of 5 stars
Comments: The faces are drawn with a life like quality. Spider-
Man and Spider-Woman are really drawn well.
The team find some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents maybe rogue ones
illegally mining vibranium in the Savage Land. The S.H.I.E.L.D.
Helicarrier shows up and blows up all the rogues and nearly the
Avengers to. So the Avengers are going to take on the villainous
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents they just have to find out who they are.
The rogue S.H.I.E.L.D. agents also have 14 super villains. So
the suspense as to who they are is there. The evil Black Widow
might just lead them.
We needed more action. Also less picking on Wolverine.
Classifying him as a homicidal maniac just isn't right. Wolverine
is civilized. And giving the Avengers someone besides
S.H.I.E.L.D. as their villain would be better. Watching Iron
Man's armor do a long drawn out countdown was boring.
The team though overall does work well together. The team
dynamics make the comic enjoyable.

SPOILER WARNING:
THE FOLLOWING COLUMN MAY REVEAL SIGNIFICANT PORTIONS OF THE PLOTS
OF SOME COMIC BOOKS, OR THE ENTIRE STORY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Name: Decoy: Menagerie Part 1 (Hardbound)
Publisher:  Penny-Farthing Press
Created by: Courtney Huddleston
Note: Many writers/artists are involved with this book.
Price: $19.95
Website: www.pfpress.com
Comments:  This is a beautiful hardbound book for your collection!
Courtney discusses how he came up with the concept of Decoy while
in the seventh grade and created a race of aliens called the
Metas, that have their homeworld on Nacrum.  The Foreword is a
very interesting read.  In the beginning of the story, a guy named
Bobby Luck makes like Spider-Man and swings over the city scape
using the flexibility powers of Decoy.  He explains to the reader
that we will see what his relationship with a little green alien
named Decoy is all about.   We are taken to the planet Nacrum, 300
years ago.  Then the scene shift brings us to the present time,
and an alien race called the Kranch tell their story and plight.
A very interesting story on how they split into 4 tribes, each and
every tribe mastering one thing or another.  Objects from the sky
were observed and studied and placed where other Kranch could see.
Knowing that there is another intelligence out there somewhere
watching them from the shadows.  Fascinating meeting takes place
during an artificial storm that the Metas created, in which the
frightened Kranch encounter the far more superior Meta.  The Meta
ruled by a purple Meta (purple Metas are a rarity) taught the
Kranch things of government, ruling houses, living in harmony with
the Meta, etc.
The Meta must now live with the Kranch, because their homeworld
was destroyed.  As life goes on with the Meta and Kranch, a
strange disease attacks the green Meta, they change to red and
their personalities become that of hatred.  The red Metas attack
and kill any Kranch and other Metas that happen upon them, there
is turmoil and chaos.  The red disease amongst the Meta is
overwhelming.  Eventually Metas will kill all purple Metas at
birth and chaos ensues.  The hope is that another purple will rise
one day.  The Kranch want this.  In Chapter One, called Soft Spot,
the reader is introduced to Bobby Luck, a gumshoe, a sleuth, yes a
private investigator.  Like any good private dick story, Bobby has
a beautiful female client that enters his shadowy office, Mike
Hammer would be proud.  Bobby and his private investigator pal
Decoy (the green alien) set off on the case.  Decoy displays a
elongated stretched punch in this story, that would make Mr.
Fantastic of the Fantastic Four proud.  Bit by bit, the reader
learns about the extraordinary powers this little alien has.  This
detective story is very intriguing and there is a mystery around
every corner.

In the next story Single Inebriated Operating Plan, we have
gigantic "Transformer" type of robots that say..."comrades, we are
the conscious and collective vanguard of the international
proletariat solidarity movement, we come to liberate you from the
tyranny of kee-pitalist greed and oppression, welcome to the
glorious worker's paradise of Dolphin City, which has been renamed
Industrial Communal Complex 1872-0005-A9!"  The communist 'hammer
and sickle' is their emblem. When all this chaos ensues, Bobby and
Decoy investigate and see where these giant robots lead the people
to.  Wow!  Bobby is able to use Decoy as a weapon.  Decoy can
morph into a battle ax and so on.  With this book, there are a
multitude of stories by various writers and artists and the
artwork in each story is mesmerizing. Each artist puts their all
into this production with outstanding results.

In one story, I was quite impressed with the artwork/penciling of
Mitchell Breitweiser.  His artwork is a lot like Alex Ross and
there is this incredible scene in which Bobby Luck saves a damsel
in distress and with large green angel wings provided by Decoy
flies off with her.  The story "A Day in the Life" is about Bobby
Luck's growing up years, how he was picked on and so on.  It
explains how he was transformed through 'alien possession".  The
bonding between Bobby and Decoy is amazing, there is some comedy
in this bonding, such as when Bobby is sitting on the commode and
Decoy creates a gas mask for himself. At the end of this
incredible book are sketches from various artists, an added treat.
Decoy was predicted to be a massive hit by one of our greatest
prophets Nostradamus.  This is a quatrain that I recently
discovered that seems to pertain to the comic book Decoy:

"Readers will flock and cry out Meta!
A green one will take center stage,
There will be LUCK in the outcome,
And a decoy will be exposed for all to see,
Greatness will be hailed by the masses!"

Name: Ultimate Spider-Man #78
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Creative Force: Bendis, Bagley and Hanna
Price: $2.99
Email: UltimateOffice@Marvel.com

Comments:  Kenny reminds me of my younger years, slacks off on his
homework and is more concerned about his partying nightlife. In
Ultimate Spider-Man #78, it is understandable why women think of
men as dogs, as a woman is rated a 8.4 from a scale from 1 to 10.
Kids from their late teens to their 20s, think of one thing, where
the next party is and kids are depicted this way in this issue.  I
can't understand the tunes that kids listen to and the song
depicted in this story is way off base...as the words
echo..."You're my Molten Man and I'm melting on you".  Yuck!  Who
came up with these lyrics?  I felt like I was watching MTV's Real
World or Laguna Beach as all of the human interaction and drama
was taking place.  Then what was up with this musician that was
trying to court Mary Jane?  Comparing his musical talents with
Will Eisner?  I couldn't see that, most musicians compare
themselves with Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison or
something...but Will Eisner.  Then the typical girl talk was
introduced, where a girl is liking this guy's car.  Talk about
shallow women. I was glad when MJ rejected the rocker, because she
has Peter Parker on her mind, the guy was a loser and MJ is way
too good for him.  My thoughts on this real world story.

Name: Monster Mash Smash #2
Publisher:  Weird Chit Publications
Creator: Lonnie Petrock
Price: $3.00
Comments:  Found this independent comic book at Tower Books.  The
artwork is shabby, but I did like the concept of the story.
Dracula at his 2nd home in Scotland invites monsters around the
world to a huge party banquet.  The purpose of this party is to
unite monsters all around the world to create a force for all
mankind to reckon with.  Once united, these monsters could take
over the world and Dracula would be the king of the world.  As the
party begins, I was able to identify the following monsters:
Wolfman, Mummy, Creature of the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein, The
Munsters, The Adamms Family, Freddie Krueger, Chuckie, Michael
Myers, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Phantom of the Opera,
Leatherface, Pinhead, The Blob, Jason Voorhees, The Re-Animator,
Ash of Army of Darkness, Pixar Film's Monsters Inc., The Fly,
creatures from the film Tremors, the Great White Shark Jaws is
seen in the swimming pool, King Kong v. Godzilla are seen on the
Scottish hillside battling it out, Cujo, The Predator and Alien
are seen socializing in the hallway, Nosferatu, Dr. Caligari, Mr.
Hyde, The Invisible Man, The Tall Man from Phantasm.  There is
homage to movies like: Bats, Deep Blue Sea, Lake Placid, Scream,
I Know What You Did Last Summer, Candy Man, Anaconda, Grizzly,
Piranha and Arachnophobia.  Dracula tries to unite all of the
monsters together, but chaos ensues as old time monsters are
unable to understand the ways of the newer monsters. Frankenstein
gets peeved with Michael Myers and these two have it out, before
you know it, it's mayhem everywhere, the home of Dracula is
destroyed and Monsters Inc accidentally impale Dracula with a broom
handle, they were actually horseplaying with each other and
stabbed poor Dracula through the heart.  The monsters after this
party are seen departing their separate ways and making fun of
each other as they depart.
