When Conan Was King!
Set many years in the future from the award-winning on-going
series, Conan and the Demons of Khitai marks Conan's first
appearance as a King in Dark Horse's revival of Robert E.
Howard's legendary fantasy hero. When Conan receives an
invitation from the Eastern Kingdom of Khitai to open trade in
precious jewels and spices, he decides that he will travel into
this long-mysterious land as a diplomat. But that does not mean
he will not trust his Cimmerian instincts. They have kept him
alive thus far.

Upon his journey to the exotic land, King Conan runs afoul of an
evil sorcerer and his demonic retainers. In a tale of silent
shadow warriors and ghastly monsters in the Far East, we see that
although Conan is a king, he is still a barbarian at heart.

And he will rely on this primal heritage if he intends to return
to his kingdom on horseback. His travel will be perilous, as
those who have requested his company have devious intentions.
Worse, there are beasts unseen by Western eyes that lurk amidst
the shadows. They are hungry for flesh that is not fast enough to
unsheath weaponry. And it is their reliance on prey that is meek
which will prove their undoing-for King Conan has not grown fat
under the crown that rules a kingdom.

This new series will be written by fan-favorite scribe Akira
Yoshida, who's gained a tremendous mainstream following while
working on Marvel's X-Men/Fantastic Four, Wolverine: Soultaker,
and Elektra: The Hand mini-series. With exquisite art from Paul
Lee, topped off with covers by Pat Lee, this series is not to be
missed! Be sure to check out this book in the Dark Horse section
of Previews!

Samurai Hip Hop!
In a world full of evil, an arrogant mercenary, a hardworking
waitress, and a mysterious samurai come together through a series
of misunderstandings. Fuu, Mugen, and Jin find themselves running
from officials and wanted by the law, and together they form an
uneasy alliance to search for the enigmatic Sunflower Samurai.

Sound like the trailer for a new action flick? Close. Here's a
hint, though. It's not some new cult flick whipped up by Quentin
Tarantino. Still stumped? Well, you won't find this story in
theaters, either, or the Net. You'll find it in the Samurai
Champloo Volume 1 GN from Tokyopop!

Along the way, the three comrades in arms come across misleading
characters, ninjas, assassins, and a prince in disguise. Their
journey proves to be nothing less than a roller coaster ride of
battles, danger, desperation, and companionship.

Fans of Rurouni Kenshin and Cowboy Bebop will find this tale to
be of similar taste. Samurai Champloo Volume 1 GN puts a fresh
spin on the samurai genre. And who isn't in search of something
new at the comic rack? Samurai Champloo is action adventure that
combines bloody swordsmanship with hip-hop urban culture, and
still maintains the attitude and edge of anime while telling
stories that are unique to the world of manga. This is new age
storytelling crafted for fans who love the fast life. Written by
Manglobe and featuring art by Masaru Gotsubo, Samurai Champloo is
the spiritual sequel to Cowboy Bebop. Be sure to check it out
from Tokyopop in the Comics section of Previews!

Wrapped Around Your Finger!
How best to whittle the hours away when it's raining outside and
you've read all of your comics? Back in the day, we could amuse
ourselves with Marvel Tin Fighters, and pit super-heroes against
super villains for mock battles that would send parents running
for cover.

Alas, the video game age descended upon us, and those toys were
shelved for electronic amusements .

Nostalgia, however, has a way of creeping back when we need it
most. So you'll be surprised to see the Tin Fighters of
yesteryear have popped back into American pop culture for old
school Marvel fans. If you welcome the opportunity to reminisce
about those old favorites that were the bomb before cable
television, check out the Classic Marvel Tin Fighters Series 1 to
see how Spider-Man, the Thing, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron
Man, Mister Fantastic, and others have a throw-down when you
squeeze a handle to watch them duke it out relentlessly!

Look for the Classic Marvel Tin Fighters Series 1 in the
Collectibles and Novelties section.

A Haunting Good Time!
What started as a theme park ride soon grew into a pop culture
phenomenon. The Haunted Mansion ride at Disney's theme park
became such a huge success that a children's record was released
based on the ride's characters. And later, Eddie Murphy starred
in The Haunted Mansion movie, which again painted the ghosts and
ghouls that are just dying to meet you.

Our fascination with the supernatural beings at Disney's ghostly
estate is again rewarded with Slave Labor Graphic's The Haunted
Mansion comic book. This title is not a comics adaptation of the
Eddie Murphy film, but a bi-monthly anthology written and
illustrated by some of Slave Labor Graphic's favorite creators.
The Haunted Mansion tells stories of the 999 ghosts and ghouls
that call the mansion home. If you want to know what's on the
transparent minds of the mansion's residents, here's your chance
to listen to fireside chats near an ice-cold fireplace.

The first issue features a cover by Lenore creator Roman Dirge.
Interior stories will feature work by Dirge, Serena Valentino,
Darren W. Frydenhall, and Jon Hastings. Be sure to check out this
anthology in the Comics section of Previews!

Riverdale Rivals On DVD!
Archie Andrews has been around for generations because he and his
crew have always reflected current trends in pop culture, dating,
and mischief. Archie comics have been a mirror to the ways of a
teenager: unpredictable, over-reactive, and just plain silly. So
it was no surprise to see that the freckle-faced, red-haired
teenager had his exploits chronicled in TV cartoons besides the
comics. You just can't get enough of a good thing, and there were
nothing but good times to recall whenever it involved Archie,
Jughead, and the rest of Riverdale's teenie boppers.

Now you can own those cartoons of yesteryear with both the
Archie's TV Funnies DVD and The Archie Show DVD. Both discs
contain tales of timeless trials, tribulations, and triumphs of
growing up in Riverdale. Each disc contains four episodes, and
have an approximate running time of 90 minutes.

Think you've got problems? Wait until you see Betty and Veronica
vie for Archie's attention. Or maybe you'd like to see how hairy
things can get when Reggie pulls out all the stops to stop ol'
Carrot Top in his tracks! The hijinx keep coming in these DVD
collections, which you can find in the Videos section of
Previews!

Transformers Overhaul!
Just when you thought the Transformers had been retired, and
sent to rust in the scrap heap, along comes a publisher who
rescues the robots for fans who never tire of Cybertron. Or
Optimus. With a new continuity by writer Simon Furman, and art by
EJ Su, Transformers #0 is the Previews Featured Item you should
have on your checklist. Verity Carlo is a lass who comes upon a
mini-computer that makes her privy to a conspiracy that involves
alien robots. Her skepticism becomes less important when she
learns that her discovery is matter of life and death! Look for
Transformers #0 from IDW Publishing in the Comics section of
Previews!

Marvel Knight Takes Queen
Comics aren't just for kids anymore. They're for big kids, too,
who especially like the challenge of chess! Sure, we've seen the
Marvel heroes in the game arena before, but not for the national
pastime that wracks the brains of its players. Each display of
the Marvel Heroes Chess Pieces Series 1 comes with a full set of
12 pieces. Some select cases will have limited edition, variant
king pieces rather than the standard kings. Complete with mystery
box packaging, this chess set is an ideal choice for holiday
gifts and special occasions. Look for it in the Collectibles and
Novelties section of Previews.

Don't Mess with the Star of David!
Legendary creator Joe Kubert brings his amazing storytelling and
classic art style back to hardcover fiction. With the same
intensity and detail that he put into Yossel, Kubert recreates a
time when even the most innocent person could be caught up in the
dark underbelly of society in Jew Gangster HC. In New York City,
criminals rule, getting everything they want no matter what the
price, or who pays it. Be sure to check out Jew Gangster from
Ibooks in the Comics section of Previews!

Rising to the Occasion
As the "key" to a galactic legend, mankind was destined to
deliver the universe to utopia. Fearful of what that meant to for
the rest of the galaxy, the Seekers spread throughout the
universe methodically eradicating the human race. Based on the
first chapter of the Advent Trilogy video game series, Advent
Rising: Rock the Planet #1 brings the action of the smash-hit
Xbox game to the paneled page. Following the Wyeth brothers as
they fight to save the human race from extinction, Advent Rising
is part science fiction, part action/adventure, and all heart-
pounding thrills! Be sure to check it out from 360ep in the
