Award-Winning Animated Film and Soon-To-Be Comic Adds Queens,
Lower East Side and Santa Clarita Festivals to Resume

November 4, 2005, Palm Beach, FL - Continuing its run of major

"What makes appearing in these festivals special is the chance
for non-comics fans to see Zoom Suit," explained writer/director
John Taddeo. "Our ultimate goal is to draw new readers into comic
stores to find the comic when we finally do release it next year.
With over 150,000 people having already seen it, I think we're
off to a good start."

About Zoom Suit:

SIXGUN SAMURAI A SURE SHOT FOR ALIAS

Alias conquers a substantial over-shipment with a sell-out issue!

San Diego, California (November 4, 2005) - Alias Enterprises is
very pleased to announce that despite a large over-shipment,
their debut issue of SIXGUN SAMURAI has been completely sold out,
with no plans to return for second printing!

SIXGUN SAMURAI #1 - created and edited by Mike S. Miller, with
story by Sean Jordan and art by Harold Edge - reached comic shops
in late August, and has since seen a weekly reorder until all
copies have been completely sold out!

"It seems like people are getting hooked off of issue one and
subscribing left and right," said Miller.  "We've scoured the
warehouse for additional copies, but we're bone dry, and orders
for subsequent issues have been climbing steadily.  That's the
earmark of a truly great book that's resonating with readers."

The popularity of the title and its fortuitous over-shipment have
made SIXGUN SAMURAI #1 the best selling issue at Alias during the
months of August and September combined!

"SIXGUN SAMURAI is a departure from what most people expect out
of comics, and it was somewhat of an experimental title for me
and Mike to try," said writer, Sean Jordan. "This isn't some
over-the-top, blood-letting slash-a-thon; it's a story about a
kid with some unique abilities, but who has to learn to put them
to proper use while keeping control of his temper."

Though the second issue has been slightly delayed, Alias assures
fans that SIXGUN SAMURAI #2 will be out very soon, and issue #3
has already been sent to the printer to re-establish a regular
shipping schedule.

For more information on SIXGUN SAMURAI and other Alias titles,
please visit your local comic book shop, or simply visit Alias
online at http://www.aliasenterprises.com !

Vaughan's "Magnetic North" Comes to a Close in Ultimate X-Men #65

Brian K. Vaughan is closing out his run on Ultimate
X-Men in grand style with the conclusion of "Magnetic North" in
Ultimate X-Men #65.

Jam-packed with mutant action, the X-Men find
themselves in the middle of a battle that they cannot possibly
hope to win against Emma Frost's students, the Ultimates, and
their greatest nemesis ever, Magneto.

And not only does Ultimate X-Men deliver the earth-
shattering conclusion to "Magnetic North," but it features Part 2
of the Ultimate Vision back-up story running through the Ultimate
line.  And Ultimate X-Men #65 features a second cover of Ultimate
Vision by upcoming Ultimate Extinction artist Brandon Peterson

The conclusion of "Magnetic North" ends on a huge
note as Vaughan cements his legacy on Ultimate X-Men.  And
nothing gets bigger in the Ultimate Universe than a throw-down
between the X-Men and Magneto inside the Ultimates's
headquarters, the Triskelion.

In a series of events orchestrated by Magneto from
his own jail cell, "Magnetic North" has already seen Lorna Dane
murder an innocent crowd, her resulting incarceration, and
brother fighting brother as Cyclops tries to stop Havok from
freeing Lorna.

Will "Magnetic North" end in with a betrayal, death,
an escape, or all of the above?  Only Vaughan knows for sure.
The rest of us will have to check out the stunning conclusion in
Ultimate X-Men #65 in order to find out.

The Traitor's Master Plan Unfolds In Ultimates 2 #9

The Ultimates have a traitor in their midst, the team
has been systematically pulled apart, and now the traitor is
readying to bring the hammer down in Ultimates 2 #9.

"The master plan of the traitor deep within the heart of
the Ultimates comes to startling fruition!" says editor Ralph
Macchio.  "The Triskelion is under massive attack and this may be
the defining moment for Nick Fury's superhuman defense
initiative! Don't miss it!"

Even after the revelation of the traitor last issue, Tony
"Iron Man" Stark and Natasha "Black Widow" Romanov are still
hearing wedding bells.  Will they manage to sneak in a little
matrimony before engaging in the fight of their lives?

As Ultimates 2 makes its way towards its conclusion, the
title continues to garner praise from fans and critics alike.

Hilary Goldstein of IGN.com says, "Had I the time, I'd
individually praise every single page of this excellent book.
Consistently one of the best Marvel books."

David Wallace of SilverBulletComicBooks.com says, "The
Ultimates 2 is truly the Marvel book which has everything, and is
- in my opinion, of course - the strongest of Marvel's Ultimate
line: gripping action, thought-provoking writing, and a fantastic
modern take on classic characters make this a must-read."

no further than Ultimates 2 #9.  The world's mightiest heroes

Son of Superman co-creator finally opens up about father
Over in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Gerard Jones talks about
updates in the paperback version of MEN OF TOMORROW, his history
of the early years of comics, after interviewing Michael Siegel,
Jerry's oldest son:

Michael Siegel, of Cleveland Heights, initially declined to be
interviewed for the book but had a change of heart after it was
published. He gave Jones so much information that the author
rewrote the book for its paperback release, which arrives in
bookstores Monday.

Michael Siegel waited until the death of his mother, Bella,
Jerry's first wife, to talk. She always had been even more
adamant in her silence than Michael. Her son said the reason he
and his mother never spoke about his father was her concern that
doing so might break a nondisclosure agreement she had with DC
Comics, publisher of "Superman."

Bella died in 2002, and her son feels it's time to tell their
side of the "Superman" story.

The younger Siegel claims that the story about Jerry's second
wife, Joanne being the model for Lois Lane was made up.

"He's just about convinced me that Jerry didn't know Joanne until
after World War II, and he and Joanne made up the whole story,"
Jones said. At least three women in the Cleveland area claim to
have been the inspiration for Lane.

Marvel puts Iron back on slate

As widely rumored last week, Marvel has regained the rights to te
IRON MAN movie and will probably add it to its 10-picture deal at
Paramount:

After more than two years of unsuccessful development at New
Line, Marvel has taken back film rights to the comicbook about an
inventor who dons a high-tech suit and becomes a superhero.

Company may raise additional coin to produce "Iron Man" itself as
part of its new internal production slate. In such a case, pic
would likely be distributed by Paramount, where Marvel has a
distribution deal.

"Right now we're concentrating on finding the right creative
talent," explained Marvel Studios topper Avi Arad. "It's not a
part of our slate deal, but we can raise the money to do it if we
choose to. We would also have no difficulty licensing it to
another studio."

Mark Millar on six month break

Over on Millarworld, Mark Millar reveals the health problems that
have been plaguing him for some time and talks about taking a
six-month break:

So what does all this have to do with my time off? Well, as some
of you know, I've been on heavy-duty steroids and a transplant
drug called Imuran all year and SLOWLY recovering. However, on a
recent trip back to NY the docs weren't happy with the speed of
my progress and insisted that I force myself to take a few months
break and heal myself up fully. In terms of timing, this really
couldn't have been better because my Marvel contract is finished,
Spidey, Wolverine, Ultimate FF, Ultimates 2 and 1985 are pretty
much in the can and so it's Easy Street for a little while. My
internet presence will also be massively curbed so this is my
last (planned) post for the next few months as I kick back, take
it easy and just read a shit-load of comics as research for my
next project. I'm going to do ONE company-owned project next year
(NOT X-Men) and it involves quite a bit of reading on my part.
The time off means I can write the screenplays and start this
project at a nice leisurely pace before returning to your screens
for the occasional interview (either here or in Wizard) and then
back fully for late Spring/ early Summer as I start to limber up
for Millarworld 2.

As for Millarworld 2, he wrote:
As for Millarworld 2, Rob [Liefeld] isn't on any of the books,
though I'd love to do something with him again sometime. The
artists are ALL set now and ALL huge. I honestly couldn't be
happier. The books are as followes: A four issue superhero thing,
a three issue crime/ superhero thing, five horror one-shots, a
big one-shot that isn't related to that and, of course, the
sequel to Chosen: AMERICAN JESUS!

Although Mark doen't mention the actual nature of his malady, it
sounds nasty, and we wish him the best.

WIZARD WORLD TEXAS: DC CRISIS COUNSELING PANEL
ARLINGTON, Texas -- At DC Comics' Crisis Counseling panel at
Wizard World Texas on Friday -- dubbed the first "Infinite"
Crisis Counseling panel by DC Comics' Dan DiDio -- it was
announced that Marv Wolfman will be doing some Teen Titans work.
"Marv is co-writing a couple of issues of Teen Titans with
Geoff (Johns) and he's co-writing the Teen Titans Annual with
Geoff," DiDio said, appearing with Bob Wayne as a spirited panel.
DiDio said that both Wolfman and George Perez are coming
increasingly involved with Infinite Crisis events.
"We're very happy to have them involved," DiDio said.
DiDio, who worked with Wolfman on two animated series during
his days at Mainframe Entertainment, said Wolfman also has
pitches in with the publisher.
In other news from the panel:
  * DiDio said that "50 to 75 percent" of the DCU titles will
have new creative teams after Infinite Crisis.
  * 52, the tentatively titled weekly comic filling in the gap
between Infinite Crisis and One Year Later, will launch in May,
two weeks after the Infinite Crisis finale. Wayne said the price
point for the series remains to be announced.
  * Gail Simone will be busy at DC. "Not just in the DCU," Wayne
said. "Gail has other things going on."
  * DiDio said that Zero Hour will be addressed in Infinite
Crisis, but Hypertime will not.
  * Lobo will not be involved in Infinite Crisis, DiDio said.
  * DiDio said the first issue of Infinite Crisis was meant "to
give a sense of chaos and confusion."
  * As for the future of Jason Todd, DiDio said, "More people are
enjoying his return than are upset about his return. That Might
tell you where we're going."
  * The Batman Annual will feature the origin of the Red Hood and
will tie into "A Death in the Family."
  * Wayne said readers will be surprised at the number of
upcoming soliciations that will be accompanied with the phrase
"final issue." DiDio said it's "a pruning" of the line.
  * DiDio said that Ted Kord will remain dead. "He has too much
merit," DiDio said. "If you do something that matters (in a
story), it makes it hard to go back.
"If you see a body, they're dead. And if you see blood, they're
very dead."
  * Jim Corrigan and the Spectre? "They make a lovely couple,"
DiDio said.
  * DiDio said Manhunter is not in danger of being canceled.
