The comic book that almost wasn't.

New York small press comic book publisher Dreamchilde Press
continues cross-time adventure in spite of increasingly
conservative age.

Hailed by readers, reviewers, and comic book pros alike, QUANTUM:
Rock of Ages has established itself as solid Sci-Fi reading. The
sixth installment of the series is now available and raising the
eyebrows of all who read it. The content of QUANTUM #6 is so hot,
it almost didn't see print at all.

"Everything was "go" for press weeks ago until I got a call from
the printer saying they wouldn't run the book," says publisher/
writer Philip Clark. "I knew the scene in question might be
controversial, but I had no idea it would cause such a fuss."

As a matter of fact, the print company sited a sex toy shown in
the issue as the reason they chose not to print the book.
Continued pleading from the publisher warranted a meeting with
the print company's management and legal counsel. "We talked
about covering up the item in question, but I felt strongly that
the scene should stand on its own artistic merit. What got me was
that they didn't object to any of the nudity and we weren't
showing any type of penetration. In other words, this wasn't porn."

Clark was forced to take the book to a different printer. "It was
nice to see free press eventually win the day. I1m just surprised
at how easily censorship can rear its head, particularly in this
age."

Part "Clerks," part "Sliders," QUANTUM: Rock of Ages follows the
adventures of Nick Vargas, a jaded musician turned unwitting hero.
Nick is given super powers and taken on the ultimate cross-time
thrill ride by a bizarre gemstone, the Quantum Silica. During his
quest he encounters other characters that are also affected by the
fragmented "Quantum." Each fragment offers a unique power to Nick
and his counterparts, and they must band together to save the
universe from peril. Toss in a diabolical nemesis, some quirky
pop-culture humor, and QUANTUM makes for a highly enjoyable read.

"This is the type of comic book that is impossible to put down."

"Philip Clark is an up and coming creator to watch out for."  -
David Mack

"Fun, utterly unpredictable, and marching to its own beat."  -

You can now find out what the fuss is all about. QUANTUM: Rock of
Ages #6 (32 pages, $2.99) is available to order from the QUANTUM
website, Cold Cut Distribution, FM Distribution, The SPA website,

BLOODSTAINED PRODUCTIONS TAPS OUT AFTER PREVIEW
Will Return Summer 2006 with all projects currently in
development.

"If you ask anyone that we've been in talks with, or have hired
during our talent search, family is #1 to us, even above making
our deadlines."  Martin R. Oakley Stated late tonight.  "As a
result, though I feel complete devastated by announcing this,
with my own wife going through a rough time and the effects on my
personal family, I am announcing a 6 month break in publishing to
complete all projects on our plates and allow the time and
funding to be there if/when my wife, Stephanie needs to travel to
the west coast"

When asked how this will effect the planned Comic Convention
appearance, as well as payments due to creators and other talent,
Oakley replied: "This changes nothing as to the June Mighty-Mini
Con Gala that we will be debuting it.  This is THE con to go to,
to get our books and meet us face to face.  This is where we're
going to make the debut.  As for payment arrangements, while
those are confidential matters, all payments will be made on
time.  We're not into screwing the talent that works for us."

This affects the entire planned BloodStained Productions line-up,
putting both Beyond Mortality and The WolfBlade Chronicles a full
3 months later than they would have originally appeared.  "We're
going to solicit in, I believe, April, and go to print in late
May, and have the books ready and initial orders filled by the
time that we leave for the MMC in upstate New York."

As to how this will affect fan recognition of this budding
studio:  "I really can't say.  I know a lot of them will be
pissed or even feel like we've cheated them by making promises,
yet I know in my heart of hearts that this is the ONLY way to go
at this time.  The family must come first in ANY business, and
any company that DOES NOT believe that....." Oakley looked away
without finishing the sentence.

Stay tuned to the BloodStained Productions website, and for
future press releases from this company as things continue to
move, albeit in a slower way than before.

ALIAS COMIC'S EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION

Alias Comics buys out funding partners and reformulates business
plan

San Diego, California (November 8, 2005) - In reaction to the
lateness and the continued mishandling of certain financial
responsibilities, Alias Publisher, Brett Burner, has effectively
bought out the partners responsible for these setbacks to instead
assume all accounting and production duties internally. In doing
so, Alias has gained fundamental control over financial concerns
and will now work more efficiently to see a quick turnaround of
publishing responsibilities. Additionally, certain editorial
changes have been made which are designed to lessen production
costs, thereby increasing the profit potential of each Alias
title.

"The problem was that these individuals were acting on their own
judgment, making crucial decisions irregardless of our input,"
said Burner. "We are not, however, looking for a scapegoat. Alias
assumes complete responsibility for the late shipping of books
which over the past few months has affected the trust of our
readership and retailers. Once we recognized the problem, we
immediately began a process of removing those responsible, as
well as pruning projects that were a financial drain, either by
alteration or elimination, which has sadly resulted in the loss
of some of our titles; though no studio has moved on without
being offered the option to stay under more equitable terms.
Unfortunately, these steps take time and require a degree of
silence- which to some can be, and has been, misinterpreted as
non-action on our part. We apologize for that confusion, and we
hope that fans will now understand the situation we were placed
in, and why things happened the way they did."

Burner hastened to add as well that he still maintains a good
relationship with his former partners.

While a few creators have parted from the Alias line, the
majority has chosen to stay the course, demonstrating their
unyielding faith and support for the publisher.

"I have worked with two other publishers - both of which ended up
being very unsatisfactory experiences. Because of this, I planned
to release SUPER TEEN*TOPIA on my own.  But after talking to
Alias, their enthusiasm for the project won me over. To date my
experience with Alias has been great and, to be very honest, my
editor and I have very high expectations in regards to what we
consider 'professional behavior'. I think SUPER TEEN*TOPIA has
found a great home at Alias," said Alias creator, Kirk Kushin
("Super Teen*Topia").

Alias writer, Ryan Scott Ottney ("The Legend of Isis"), has been
hired as Alias' Communications Coordinator to prepare all
internal and external communications, as well as media relations
and other matters of communications.

The Communications Coordinator is an administrative position,
designed to keep the media and the readers informed on current
Alias updates.

"We want people to know about all the great things we're doing,"
said Ottney, "but also in the event of any mishap-even as small
as a late shipping book-you're going to hear about that, too.  We
can't expect people to buy our books if they can't trust us.
We've lost some readers because of that already, but we believe
we can win them back."

These new changes are only the first in a series of major
announcements soon to be released by Alias Comics in the coming
weeks and months designed to establish a new direction and a
renewed chance at success.

Mike S. Miller, Executive Director and partner, chimed in with
this, "It has been difficult enduring the public speculation
about Alias without correcting the matter, but it has been worth
it as we've finally gotten Alias back on track and are heading in
the direction we should have been going all along.  I think
patience has paid off better than any amount of bickering ever
would have, and that's an important lesson learned from all of
this."

It's also extremely important to note that with this move by
Burner, Alias has reached another milestone: that of financial
independence.  Alias Comics is now running completely on
generated income, a feat most of the failed comic publishers to
whom Alias has so often been compared have never managed to
accomplish.

"Is Alias going anywhere?" asked Miller.  "Yes, second star to
the right, and straight on 'till morning!"

Marvel Reports Third Quarter Results; Initiates 2006 EPS Guidance
of $0.37 to $0.52 and Revises 2005 EPS Guidance to $1.02 to
$1.07; Board Authorizes $250 Million Share Repurchase Program

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)----Marvel Entertainment, Inc.
(NYSE:MVL), a global character-based entertainment and licensing
company, today reported operating results for the third quarter
and nine months ended September 30, 2005, revised its financial
guidance for 2005 and initiated financial guidance for 2006.

Marvel's Chairman, Morton Handel, commented, "We are pleased
with the box office success of the Fantastic Four feature film,
which launched this character franchise and has grossed over $329
million worldwide to date. Marvel's business model continues to
be solidly profitable and generates strong free cash flow.

"As reviewed in more detail below, Marvel is revising its 2005
financial guidance to reflect the contribution of a landmark,
long-term license agreement in the video game category which has
largely offset some weaker than expected performance in our toy
operation. However, our 2006 outlook reflects a difficult year
for both toys and licensing. Despite the near-term challenges,
the management team and Board remain confident in the long-term
power of Marvel's business model, which will generate high levels
of cash in coming years. Accordingly, the Board has approved an
additional $250 million share repurchase authorization. We
believe repurchases will be accretive to earnings and will
provide a very attractive long-term return on investment as we
proceed beyond 2006. Those years will include the release of both
the Spider-Man and Fantastic Four sequels in 2007 and the
anticipated launch of Marvel's own film slate starting in 2008."

Marvel also disclosed that it has secured a $150 million line
of credit from HSBC Bank USA, of which $125 million will be
available, together with the Company's cash from operations, for
repurchasing shares of Marvel's common stock.

Guidance and Drivers: Marvel is fine-tuning its 2005 guidance
for net sales, net income and EPS to reflect the company's
expectations for the balance of 2005. Cash Flow from operations
is expected to exceed $100 million in 2005 and is expected to
exceed $70 million in 2006 as the cash payments from licensing
contracts recorded as revenue in 2005 and prior years, are
received by the Company.

Marvel Entertainment 3Q Profit Sinks

 The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - Marvel Entertainment Inc., licenser of Spider-
Man, the X-Men and other comic book heroes, said Wednesday its
third-quarter profit fell 32 percent as revenue plummeted, and
forecast a dreary 2006 for licensing revenue.

Marvel shares fell $3.59, or 20 percent, to $14.45 in morning
trading on the New York Stock Exchange, near the low end of a 52-
week range of $15.82 to $22.87.

Net income fell to $23.4 million, or 23 cents per share, from
$34.4 million, or 30 cents per share, a year ago. Revenue fell 40
percent to $81.1 million from $135.2 million last year.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial expected earnings per
share of 30 cents on revenue of $100.3 million.

Toy sales fell to $22.1 million from $48.2 million a year ago,
and licensing sales dropped to $33.2 million from $64.2 million
due to lower contributions from Spider-Man licenses compared with
last year when the movie Spider-Man 2 was released in theaters.

Morton Handel, company chairman, warned that 2006 looks to be a
``difficult year for both toys and licensing.'' Marvel forecast
2006 earnings per share of 37 cents to 52 cents on revenue of
$270 million to $300 million, expecting no revenue from its
Spider-Man limited partnership and lower revenue from studio
partnerships.

Analysts were expecting earnings per share of $1.13 on revenue of
$415.5 million for next year.

Marvel did, however, raise its earnings per share guidance for
2005 by one cent to $1.02 to $1.07. Revenue is now forecast at
$385 million to $395 million, up from a previous estimate of $370
million to $390 million, reflecting long-term video game license
agreements.

Analysts forecast earnings per share of $1.08 on revenue of $388
million for 2005.

relationship with Marvel and reinforces our leadership position
in the superhero genre," states Mike Griffith, President and CEO,
Activision Publishing, Inc. "Spider-Man and the X-Men are two of
the most popular entertainment franchises today and some of the
most coveted characters in interactive entertainment. This
agreement will allow us to continue developing exceptional games

Tim Rothwell, Worldwide President, Consumer Media Group,
Marvel Entertainment, added, "The interactive entertainment
category continues to be one of Marvel's key strategic
categories. Expanding our partnership with Activision, a leader
in the video game industry, further ensures that our characters
will continue to be among the elite and dominant interactive
franchises for the next decade and beyond."

Bruno Maglione, President, Marvel International, commented,
"Activision is one of a handful of players who can truly execute
worldwide in this business. Spider-Man and X-Men are major global
franchises. Because of this, it is always critical for us to
partner with companies committed to maximizing success
internationally. Activision's results on a worldwide scale with
these brands demonstrated to us that they can and will continue
to do that."

"Santron," "A Mole Man's Christmas," and More in
Marvel Holiday Special 2005

The holidays are almost here and that can mean only one
thing: the Marvel Holiday Special 2005 is on its way.  Featuring
three stories sure to fill your heart with the spirit of the
season, the Marvel Holiday Special 2005 is 48 pages of wild and
hilarious holiday action.

"The Marvel Holiday Special 2005 is a fun, funny, and
holiday-spirited romp through the Marvel Universe!" says editor
John Barber.  "We really tried to do something different this
year by using creators you might not expect to see on a Holiday
Special!"

The first story by webcomics great Shaenon Garrity
(Narbonic) and legendary cartoonist Roger Langridge (Marvel
Monsters: Fin Fang Four and Fred the Clown) is a heart-warmer
called a "Mole Man's Christmas."

"In this story, Mole Man has abdicated his throne and
vanished, and his moloids are kidnapping department-store
Santas!" says Barber.  "The Fantastic Four are on the case, but
it's Ben Grimm who's really looking at what's behind these
events."

The next story by Jeff Parker and Reilly Brown, sees Ultron
reprogrammed to think he's Santa Clause, just in time to ruin the
New Avengers' annual holiday party.

"This one has everybody: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain
America, Iron Man, Luke Cage, Spider Woman, Black Panther,
Yellowjacket, Wasp, Wonder Man, Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Wong,
Aunt May, Mary Jane, Jessica Jones, Gravity, a man-eating
Christmas tree.I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody from "Yes,
Virginia, There Is a Santron!" says editor John Barber.

The final story revisits an old Marvel villain known as the
Hurricane as he struggles to come to terms with his adopted home
of New York City during the holidays.  And it's brought to you by
Mike Carey (Ultimate X-Men/Fantastic Four, Spellbinders) and Mike
Perkins (Captain America, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang).

"This story is written all in verse and drawn so that it
looks like a cross between Will Eisner and Gustave Dor???," adds
Barber.  "It's funny, poignant, beautiful, and a great way to cap
off the Marvel Holiday Special!"

Complete with a new cover by Stuart Immonen (Ultimate X-
Men, Nextwave), the Marvel Holiday Special 2005 is THE comic book
of this holiday season.  And it makes a great stocking stuffer as
well.
