Small Press Acknowledged by Organizers of the American Music
Awards

Bayville, New Jersey, November 15th, 2005 - Owners of small press
publisher Open Book Press have confirmed that they have been
given a very important nod from the organizers of the 33rd Annual
American Music Awards.

Thanks to the reputation the young company has built for
quality and originality it has been chosen, above all of its
competitors in the publishing industry, to be the official
graphic novel supplier of the 2005 American Music Awards.

Open Book Press was approached by Hollywood Connection, the
company in charge of organizing the celebrity gifts at the AMA's,
to supply graphic novels for the celebrity gift bags handed out
back stage each and every year at the show. "They told us they
really wanted to do something new, fun and original this year for
the gift bags and thought graphic novels would be a unique idea."
said company co-owner Mike Gagnon. He added "Hollywood Connection
decided to choose us thanks to a lot of the recent press we've
gotten for our books."

This kind of recognition could be huge for the year old
company as well as its creators, and already speaks well for its
books, beating out the likes of Top Shelf, Moonstone, IDW, and
even bigger companies, basically the entire graphic novel
industry.

The books will be distributed in the celebrity gift bags at
the American Music Awards on November 22nd. Each celebrity gift
bag will have one of the following graphic novels:

Monkeys & Midgets - By Mike Gagnon & Nelson Danielson of
Tiverton & St. Catherine's, Ontario respectively.
Cry Wolf - By Doug Crill and Daniel J. Frey of Toledo, Ohio
area.
Dreams in Texture - By Kevin Clorey and Tom Muzzell, both
of Hanover, Ontario
Grafenveer - By Wayne Sanders & Christian N. St. Pierre
from Alabama & New York areas respectively.

The company can be contacted for more info on each
individual book. As well the gift bags will include a secret
exclusive gift certificate for the celebrities, only printed in a
small number specifically for this year's show.

COMIC BOOK FILM, ZOOM SUIT, WINS BERKELEY VIDEO & FILM FESTIVAL
Marvel Alumni Wins Grand Festival Award in Major Film Competition

November 15, 2005, Palm Beach, FL - Zoom Suit, the animated short
film written and directed by former Marvel Entertainment Brand
Manager, John Taddeo, has won the Grand Festival Award at this
year's Berkeley Video & Film Festival. The Berkeley Video & Film
Festival is the largest festival of its kind in California and
Zoom Suit was one of 40 animated films viewed and judged.

"Zoom Suit screened at the 13th Annual Berkeley Video & Film
Festival 2005 to a national highly receptive film festival
audience in north Berkeley at the Oaks Theatre
on Sunday, October 30th, 2005," said Mel Vapour, Director,
Berkeley Video & Film Festival 2005. "Zoom Suit, the brainchild
of independent animator, writer, and director John Taddeo, is a
visual treat that doesn't disappoint the most steadfast
animation-phile. Classically drawn with some nifty motion effects
that enhances this storyline of a young man finding an alien
battle suit, and instantly transforms into a superhero with
amazing powers of flight and force enthralled the BV&FF audience.
Zoom Suit will soon become an indie animation classic and is
deserving of that honor."

This win, in a California town with an active and productive
independent film community that produces a tremendous amount of
film criticism, is further proof of the acceptance of comics by
Hollywood decision makers. Zoom Suit has already received serious
attention to be translated into a live action, full length
feature film.

"As a 30 year fan of comics, it's great news that Hollywood has
finally found a respect for stories that originate from comics,"
said Taddeo. "The success of the Marvel superhero films have
opened up the doors and allowed studios to take a look at
concepts like Zoom Suit. We're overwhelmed by the interest in our
characters these awards have generated and excited to get our
hands on all the cool Zoom Suit merchandise in the pipeline.
Fifty film festivals in eight months can really put you on the
radar."

The award-winning animated short Zoom Suit, created by John
Taddeo, can be seen online at www.superverse.com. The Zoom Suit
comic book will be solicited in the February edition of Previews
for items shipping in April 2006.

About the Berkeley Video & Film Festival
Founded by award winning independent filmmakers who were involved
with the "independent underground cinema revolution" in the early
and mid-1960s, The Berkeley Video & Film Festival was created in
1990 to provide a venue for independent film and videomakers
creating works that challenge and confront our notions of
"Electronic Cinema."

BV&FF programs and screens original works, all which have been
juried by a screening committee of professional media makers at
mainstream film theaters in Berkeley, California, home of the
free speech movement. The festival issues awards in each category
and promotes the individual filmmakers by insuring that their
works receive media attention, press reviews and screen presence.

The rapid growth of The Berkeley Video & Film Festival in the
past decade reflects the increased interest in independent
electronic cinematography, locally and globally. BV&FF continues
to provide a context for everyone interested in independent media
making today.

About Zoom Suit:
Zoom Suit has quickly become the darling of the film festival
circuit appearing in over 40 festivals since the world premiere
at the Palm Beach International Film Festival on April 18, 2005
where it won "Best Animation" from the Palm Beach Film Society.
Since then Zoom Suit has been featured in film festivals across
the country including New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Diego,
Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Michigan,
San Francisco and Los Angeles. At the current rate, Zoom Suit
will be accepted to over 100 festivals by mid-2006, and viewed by
over 250,000 fans of comics and animation. Zoom Suit the comic,
written by John Taddeo with art by Billy Dallas Patton and
featuring covers by Gene Colan, Jim Starlin, Bob Layton and Bart
Sears, is planned for release in 2006. For more information or

50 Cent and MTV create book imprint
by Matthew Flamm

Gangsta rapper 50 Cent is going literary, and he's taking his
posse with him.

The hip hop star has joined with MTV/Pocket Books to create G-
Unit Books, which will publish novellas and graphic novels
focusing on the gangsta life of his friends and fellow rappers.

The first novella in the deal will be written by Nikki Turner,
author of A Hustler's Wife, and will be out by this summer,
according to Pocket Books Publisher Louise Burke. The publisher
expects G-Unit Books to produce two or three books a year of
prose fiction, with the illustrated, graphic novels sprinkled
into the schedule.

The new imprint is intended to combine 50 Cent's star power with
the growing popularity of so-called street fiction, which
features stories of gangsta life told from the inside. Novels in
the genre are often self-published and sold by sidewalk vendors,
but mainstream publishers have lately been getting in on the act.

The deal grew out of MTV/Pocket's publication of 50 Cent's
memoir, From Pieces to Weight, which spent eight weeks on The New
York Times best seller list and continues to sell. "This is his
brainchild," added Ms. Burke. "We'll be hiring the writers, but
he'll be discussing the ideas with the writers and the G-Unit
characters."

"Fitty," whose real name is Curtis Jackson, already has a G-Unit
clothing line and a G-Unit record label. The rappers from his G-
Unit posse, including Tony Yayo and Young Buck, will provide the
material for the books, which will be written by same authors
from the street fiction world.

"Fiction is the next natural extension for [50 Cent]," said Ms.
Burke. "His audience has bought everything he's ever produced."

AWARD-WINNING ANIMATED FILM TO MAKE COMIC BOOK DEBUT

Zoom Suit Set for an April 2006 Release with an All Star Line-Up
Attached

November 18, 2005, Palm Beach, FL - With over 200,000 comics and
animation fans having already viewed the award-winning animated
film Zoom Suit, and an anticipated 100,000 more still to come, a
built in audience is expected for the debut of the comic book
mini-series in April 2006. The first issue of the four issue
mini-series, written by creator and former Marvel Entertainment
Brand Manager, John Taddeo, with art by Billy Dallas Patton
(Astonishing X-Men) and covers by Patton, Billy Tucci and Bob
Layton, will appear in the February issue of Previews under
publisher listing Superverse.

In issue #1, an alien craft crash lands in Roswell, New Mexico,
and the reports are heard around the world.  Fast forward 60
years. The suit is stolen by turncoat NSA Agent Simon Bane. In a
theft attempt reminiscent of DB Cooper, Simon leaps from an Army
chopper at 8,000 feet and begins to don the Zoom Suit. However,
he has made a deadly error: Aliens are small!  The suit doesn't
fit! Simon and the suit fall helplessly to earth at terminal
velocity. On Earth, thirteen year old Myles Mason is bummed about
not being able to afford a Halloween costume, when suddenly, from
the sky, alien armor crashes to Earth just a few feet behind him.

Zoom Suit is aimed at an 8 to 80 audience and looks to bring some
fun back to comics. The first issue features a $2.95 cover price
and contains 36 pages of story and art plus two full letters
pages and ads parodying "old skool" ads seen in Marvel and DC
comics for X-Ray specs, giant monsters, etc. The issue also
contains many pop culture references and inside jokes as well as
a secret code hidden throughout that will take fans on a mission
outside the book, across the internet and into the middle of an
alien conspiracy. Those that can decipher the code and solve the
mystery will receive prizes such as DVDs and limited edition
comics and trading cards.

"As a 30 year fan of comics, I can remember the days when comics
didn't take themselves so seriously," said Taddeo. "That's what
we're hoping to achieve with Zoom Suit.  Plenty of superhero
action, but still a fun read, sprinkled with loads of pop culture
and inside jokes."

The Zoom Suit mini-series will pay homage to some of the greatest
armored heroes in comics' history by featuring variant covers by
some of the greatest artists on those heroes. Look for covers by
Gene Colan, Bob Layton, Jim Starlin and Bart Sears.

In order to assure a timely, monthly schedule, all four issues of
the series will be completed before the first issue ships in
April. Because of this, retailers will be sent the special
retailer only Team Zoom Suit Edition #1 featuring a Billy Tucci
cover in February with their Previews order packs. If you'd like
your retailer to share an early look at Zoom Suit with you, be
sure to put in your request now.

Taddeo, can be seen online at www.superverse.com

It's Kirkman-Mania at Marvel with Zombies and the League of
Losers

Ten Terrific writer Robert Kirkman is bringing you
two things that everyone can get behind in Marvel Team-Up #15 and
Marvel Zombies #1: lovable losers and flesh-consuming killer
zombies.

Marvel Zombies #1 is a super-powered horror fest
featuring zombified versions of Marvel's greatest heroes.  Few
things are cooler than zombies and super-heroes so when you mix
them together, its almost too much for one comic to contain.

"From the pages of best-selling Ultimate Fantastic
Four by Mark Millar and Greg Land: writer Robert Kirkman and
penciler Sean Philips unite to continue our epic exploration of
an alternate Earth devastated by a plague that has turned all the
super heroes into flesh-eating Walking Dead!  Is this a world
without hope?  The answer is revealed in our shocking five part
series: Marvel Zombies.  Don't miss it!"

When the super-powered zombies run out of humans to eat ,
their search for sustenance will become desperate.  And when the
Silver Surfer of that universe arrives on Earth, will even the
Power Cosmic be enough to stave off a horde of insane, undead
super-heroes?

After chowing down on some zombie action, cuddle up with
some of the meekest and lamest heroes the Marvel Universe has
ever offered in Marvel Team-Up #15.  Lovingly proclaimed the
League of Losers, a group of some of Marvel's lower tier heroes
have to step up to the plate when all the big-hitters like Iron
Man and Wolverine turn up missing.

Featuring old and forgotten heroes like Sleepwalker and
Terror, Inc. as well as some of Marvel's next vanguard like
Gravity and X-23, the League of Losers are the newest team of
heroes to try to save the world.  Also featuring Darkhawk,
Dagger, Speedball, and Arana, this team of heroes may end up
saving the day, but they sure aren't going to look good doing
it.

Ten Terrific writer Robert Kirkman is staking his claim as
one of Marvel's next big creators so don't miss out on the undead
action in Marvel Zombies #1 and the lovable losers in Marvel
Team-Up #15.
