For some strange reason, he abandons his Clark Kent identity and job at the Daily Planet to move to Smallville to raise his son. Superman then learns his powers are fading, and Junior transfers his powers to our hero. With Volume 36 on our doorstep, we've got great features such as an interview with All-Star Batman & Robin artist Jim Lee, by Spies, Vixens and Masters of Kung Fu author Michael Kronenberg. Plus, there's a feature article on comics of the '70s by Back- Issue editor, Michael Eury. To this day, 'the Guide' remains the most complete listing of comics. This is the only book you need on the road with you when convention season has you traveling out of state. You can bet that with 'the Guide,' you'll always have the final verdict on whether a book is radioactive, or so cold that its happy to stay at the bottom of the bargain bin. Corben Makes His Mark on Hellboy Richard Corben has been as familiar a taste to us as Kool Aid. His work has appeared in everything from small press horror books to Heavy Metal magazine. And most recently, Corben's been sighted over at IDW Publishing (Bigfoot) and Marvel Comics (The Punisher: The Cell). The artist's mobility attests to his popularity. Artists are compared to Richard Corben, but Richard Corben is never compared to anyone. His style and perspective is one-of-a-kind, easily identifiable in any police line-up. And law enforcement is an appropriate reference to drop here because the latest project to show off the talented artist is Dark Horse's Hellboy: Makoma, or, A Tale Told By A Mummy in the New York City Explorer's Club on August 16, 1993 #1. Mike Mignola collaborates with Corben on the pages, but readers will note that Mr. Corben's work easily makes up most of the kinetic energy in this two-part storyline.
