SUBMISSIONS
-----------
To submit an article, review, column, etc. to our Emag, simply
Email it to the editor at: ComicBkNet@aol.com   You must include
your REAL name and a valid Email address in order to be published
in this Emag. Sorry, we do not accept anonymous columns.  The
weekly deadline is 7:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday - NO
EXCEPTIONS!  Late submissions are held over for the following
week. Final edit is reserved by the editor, not the submitter!

Reviews of mainstream books are welcome and we encourage reviews
of indies and self published material as we feel that material
deserves more exposure to the general public.  If you write
intelligent, coherent, and timely reviews of any comic book it
will almost always be printed, so give us a shot.

Commentary on the state of the industry, and personal
observations and reflections related to comics are *most* likely
to be included in our publication.

PLEASE, no material on gaming, non-comic derived media, role
playing, collectible card games, Anime or other hobbies or
collectibles other than comic books. That also includes plugs for
web comics and web pages UNLESS they are concerned with print
comic books.  We do not promote web comics per se, only the
printed media.

SEND US YOUR WORK
-----------------
We also accept product for review purposes.  Advanced copies of
comic books will not be returned but any comic books sent to us
*will* be reviewed in the ComicBook Net Emag in the column MY
VIEW. Send material to be reviewed to:

David L. LeBlanc
84 Heather Circle
Jefferson, MA  01522-1419

Material is generally reviewed in the order received and be
advised that we work a few weeks in advance so your review may
not be in the magazine immediately.  Advanced copies are
therefore encouraged so the review will occur prior to your
product hitting the stores.

                                               ComicBkNet@aol.com

This week was one of those rare ones when I travel by air for a
business meeting, usually in the midwest somewhere. The home
office is in Wabash, Indiana and the other plant is in Alabama.
But, my boss lives in Ohio and that is where our meeting was. I
don't mind the travel or the change in routine and I always bring
enough comic material to read while waiting in the terminals and
while on the planes. This time I brought Alex Robinson's TRICKED.
It is fabulous!  See my review in MY VIEW this issue.

What also is fabulous, speaking as an old fart and long time DC
fan, is INFINITE CIRSIS #4. It is my pick of the week . . .

So many comics, so little time. Have you been watching the new
episodes of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA? I like the series a lot. It
still remains exciting. Gotta get this out in time to watch the
next episode. See you in seven.

I am writing on behalf of NETCOMICS, the newest
manhwa/manga/graphic novel publisher from Korea. We are a New
Jersey-based graphic novel publisher dedicated to bringing the
most sought-after titles of top-notch manhwa authors from Korea.
NETCOMICS is affiliated with Korea's leading online comic book
provider Ecomix Media Company, which offers more than 40,000
volumes to Korean audiences through several popular web sites
including Yahoo!Korea.  Beginning January 2006, we will be
releasing 3~4 titles and doubling that volume in late 2006.
Another key element that makes our U.S. presence interesting is
our online effort.  We have launched our website in an attempt to
initiate a wholly different approach to graphic novel reading:
reading it online.  Our website will soon mirror eComiX's in its
capacity. eComiX, for example, is enjoyed by about 1 million
comic book readers in Korea and visited by their members about 2
million times a day.  Our innovative approach includes online
pay-per-view service at a mere quarter dolloar per chapter.  We
believe this will bring a new era of graphic novels/comic books
in the U.S. and other English-speaking regions.

* We currently have only the January releases.  Our February
books will arrive in the next 3 week, but can be printed in
papers.

Please take time to visit us at www.netcomics.com

THINK YOU KNOW YOUR SUPERVILLAINS?

Here's one you SHOULD know, but most folks don't.  Can you name
the FIRST LIVE ACTION Supervillain Superman battled? And not
once, but on several occasions!

As they say on television, the answer after the break.

THINK YOU KNOW YOUR SUPERVILLAINS PART TWO

First off, the live action Superman who did the fighting was
GEORGE REEVES of 1950's television fame.  And the supervillain is
MR. KRYPTONITE.  Never heard of him?  You're not alone.

In 1957 Reeves decided to create his own enterprise, now referred
to as the STATE FAIR TOUR.  The troupe included his TV Lois Lane,
Noel Neill, his best friend Natividad Vacio, and pro wrestler
friend Gene La Bell.  The show ended with the first three singing
and harmonizing.  But it began with "Lois Lane" being menaced by
a costumed villain, MR. KRYPTONITE. Western Costume made the
Kryptonite uniform, which was a black and green duplicate
of Reeves' own, and the villain's name substituted for the chest
symbol.  A view of this unusual supervillain can be seen in the
current issue of CULT MOVIES magazine.

works with the most vulnerable and marginalised children in many
of the world's poorest countries to enable them to grow up free
from disease, poverty and exploitation as valued individuals
within strong communities.  Draw The World Together is a
collection of comics creators donating their time, their art,
their abilities, to raise funds for Everychild, via auctions of
original artwork, and providing original sketches to fans at the
convention.  Full details of the artists involved at Bristol will
be provided shortly.

for signing and sketching.  They are also running portfolio
sessions for writers and artists.

Silver Bullets Comics (www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com) have a
table for fifth successive year, and once again will be bringing
along a set of "Officially Cheaper Than Amazon!" books and
comics, as well as showcasing Paul B. Rainey's
(www.bookoflists.co.uk) stable of books, plus...new for this year...a
Small Press Sampler table, containing a wide variety of UK Small
Press talent.

In addition, Bevis Musson's The Queen Of Diamonds hits issue six
at the show, Scar Comics launch their new title at the SmallZone
table, Fiction Graphic Productions will showcase their titles
Nosferatu, The Boss and Death Police, and Paul Von Scott brings
the newest issue of SF comic "omnivistascope".

Next Time:

More on the talks to be given by guests Roy Thomas, Howard
