Grafenveer Set to Lead the Re-launch of SMASH! Comics with Second
issue!

Bayville, NJ, March 31st, 2006 - The second installment of the
hit fantasy graphic novel series, Grafenveer begins shipping May
1st and details revolving around its launch are already causing a
stir among retailers and collectors.

Continued from the events of the Grafenveer Vol.1 graphic
novel. This is the first comic book in the new SMASH! Comics re-
launch and the flagship title for the line. Parent company Open
Book Press has taken what works for their successful line of
graphic novels; quality paper, perfect trade binding, excellent
total production value, and SMASH! Comics has added to that a
traditional comics book size format and competitive comic book
pricing. This could very well be the start of a new trend
dictating how comic books are presented to the public

The company decided to make Grafenveer #2 (ISBN 1-897290-
06-3) its first comic in the new line of SMASH! Comics re-launch
due to the popularity of the graphic novel and from input given
to the company directly from fans. Input from readers given to
the publishers at conventions and trade shows helped form the
decision to present Grafenveer as a series of shorter, more
affordable comic books as opposed to the graphic novel format
used for the first installment of the story.

SMASH! Comics was a successful line of independent comics
that ran from 2001-2004. Open Book Press acquired the comics
imprint after the original parent company Lightningstrike
Publishing closed its doors and liquidated its assets in early
fall 2004.

The quarterly 4-part mini-series Grafenveer is written by
Wayne Sanders and illustrated by role playing game artist
Christian N. St. Pierre. Both creators have really outdone
themselves and hit a high point in their careers. St. Pierre's
haunting artwork evolves and improves with every issue, and
Sanders scripts weave a tapestry of modern day excitement within
a realm of medieval action and intrigue.

ZOOM SUIT COMIC BOOK SELLS FOR $100

100 Percent of Sale Donated to Animal Charity

March 27, 2006, Palm Beach, FL - Still a full month before the
April 26 debut of Zoom Suit #1, an ungraded copy has sold online
for $100. Zoom Suit creator John Taddeo has donated 100 percent
of the sale to the Humane Society.

First reported in Comics Buyer's Guide #1617 (June 2006 cover
date, on sale now), the extremely rare "Film Festival Edition"
variant of Zoom Suit #1 was distributed to friends and early
supporters of the Zoom Suit project. The few remaining copies
were listed online at the Superverse web site at $100 per copy.
The first was purchased within 48 hours of the listing by
longtime comic fan Andrew Hamlin of Texas.

"It was an easy decision," said Hamlin. "Great story, great art,
huge potential and it helps a charity I support. John Taddeo has
nurtured a fantastic comic supported by a fun web site and
animated short that help make comics fun again. Zoom Suit rocks!"

Located at the Superverse web site (www.superverse.com), the
Superverse Direct online store contains items not available for
sale anywhere else. Rare variants, posters, lithographs, clothing
and more can all be purchased here.

"The reaction to Zoom Suit has been a dream come true, but I
never thought I'd see the collector interest pique like this,"
said Taddeo. "I haven't seen anything like this since my time at
Marvel with Platinum Spider-Man #1."

KIDS WITH CAMERAS CAPTURE ZOOM SUIT

Award-Winning Short Film Chosen Because of its Standard of
Excellence for Children and Teens

March 29, 2006, Palm Beach, FL - Zoom Suit joins over 40 other
films that have been selected from 14 different countries to be
featured in The Kids With Cameras Film and Photo Festival. The
festival is an annual, competitive film festival presented by the
Fireside Foundation, a non-profit educational organization
dedicated to the preservation of independent film through
education and exhibition. This year's event is being held April
22, 2006 at the Modesto Junior College West Campus in Modesto,
California.

It is the mission of the Kids With Cameras Film and Photo
Festival to set an internationally recognized standard of
excellence in film production for children/teens and to encourage
the development of excellence in the production of film by
children/teens. It is further their mission to support the work
of talented and dedicated filmmakers by awarding prizes, by
showcasing international films of the highest quality, and by
providing a professional forum through which quality children's
films may gain increased distribution and access to wider
audiences. The Festival is also committed to engaging young
viewers with positive media images and to using media as a tool
to stimulate critical thinking. Finally, it is their mission to
demonstrate that the use of the visual media of film and
photography in conjunction with classic educational methods will
increase the learning and understanding of issues of social and
scientific importance.

"Zoom Suit can definitely be enjoyed by people of any age, but at
its core, Zoom Suit is a film about kids for kids," said
writer/director, John Taddeo. "I came up with the initial idea
for the story when I was 10 years old. It has gone through many
revisions since then, but at its core, it is a story for kids. So
being selected by a festival that promotes quality children's
films, proves that we hit the mark.except maybe for that one part
where we cap that guard in the head."

The Festival is an extension of the successful Kids With Cameras
program, which provided cameras and instruction on their use to
40 underprivileged kindergarten children. These cameras were used
as part of their regular studies, complementing the written and
oral materials on energy and the environment.

"CRISIS AT THE COMIC BUG" RAISES OVER $2,100 FOR ACTOR

Comic Bug Staff and Top Creators pitch in

"Crisis at the Comic Bug," a charity signing featuring writers
Geoff Johns and Marv Wolfman and inker Norm Rapmund, raised
$2,177 for ACTOR, A Commitment To Our Roots this past Saturday,
March 25. Fans were lined up down the block, and some came from
over 100 miles away for a chance to meet the creators behind DC's
legendary titles Crisis on Infinite Earths and its sequel
Infinite Crisis. And in an amazing display of generosity, the
Comic Bug donated 100% of the day's sales to ACTOR.

This is the third such fundraiser the Manhattan Beach, CA shop
has thrown since it first opened its doors in June 2004, raising
a grand total of $6,399 for various charities.

Donating 100% of the day's profits is unheard of for most
sensible businesses. However, store manager Mike Wellman says
there is a method behind the madness. "We feel very fortunate
that we're able to make a comfortable living doing what we love.
If we can put together an event that's fun for the fans as well
as good for the comic community, that gives us a much better
feeling than just throwing that money in the coffers!"

Infinite Crisis inker Norm Rapmund was hesitant at first about
appearing alongside Wolfman and Johns, but was convinced by The
Comic Bug staff who insisted that the signing needed an artist,
comics being a visual medium. "Signing with superstar writers
Geoff and Marv was a blast!" Norm exclaimed, "You guys know how
to make a guy feel special. If you ever have another fundraiser,
give me a call. I'm always glad to help out."

"People occasionally complain about the comics business," stated
ACTOR president Jim McLauchlin, "but it never ceases to amaze me
what can be done with a little proactive thinking and hard work.
The Comic Bug was thronged with fans all day long, and they did
HUGE business for the day, both from existing customers and new
friends. It just goes to show that opportunity is what you make
of it, and we at ACTOR are very thankful for this opportunity."

The Comic Bug regularly hosts events and signings at its
Manhattan Beach location. This Wednesday, March 29, the shop has
scheduled the creators behind the indy buzz-book Living In
Infamy.

"We're all in this industry together," said store owner Jun
Goeku. "Retailers rely on the creators to manufacture a good
product and they rely on us to get it out to the readers. It's in
all of our best interest to scratch each other's backs."

The Comic Bug is located at 1015 Aviation Blvd. Manhattan Beach,

History Comes Alive - For Those Who Live to Tell It
REVERE coming in June from Alias Comics!

March 24, 2006 (San Diego, CA) -- Creative team Ed Lavallee and
Grant Bond take readers on a journey down the darkened streets of
Revolutionary- Era America, to find what horrors lurk within its
cold shadows -- all in the release of REVERE #1, coming in June
from Alias Comics!

"Taking on REVERE was an easy decision. It's exactly our kind of
story; bringing a recognizable character into a fictional story,"
said Alias Publisher, Brett Burner. "Not only do we love the book
itself--the concept, the writing, the artwork-but I'm a personal
fan of the Revolutionary era. REVERE is a great original story in
the vein of Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip
Van Winkle."

In REVERE #1, on sale now in Previews catalog (order code:
AP062862), a supernatural killer stalks the townspeople of
Boston, Massachusetts, and renowned patriot, silversmith and
monster hunter, Paul Revere is called in to fight the evil!

"I was toying with the idea of creating a monster hunter-type
character, but wanted a different setting, something that would
challenge the character due to a lack of technology," said
writer/creator Ed Lavallee of the inspiration of REVERE.

Here's how Alias Comics describes the story:

REVERE #1
Written by Ed Lavallee, with artwork by Grant Bond
Through cannon fire, and musket smoke, America's war for
independence was hard fought by The Sons of Liberty. But beneath
it all, shrouded in secrecy, another battle was being fought, a
battle against the creatures of the night. Two beacons blaze to
life in the steeple of the Old North Church spurring silversmith
and freedom fighter, Paul Revere, into action. History tells us
the signal was to warn of British troops on the move, but in
reality the warning had a more sinister message... WEREWOLVES!
Revere tracks a werewolf to a secluded cabin, where he is sure he
has cornered the beast, but all is not as it appears. Revere soon
finds himself torn between upholding his oath to protect the
colonies, and sparing a young boys life! Join us on the road to
revolution in this first, all-action, pulse pounding, issue!
-- 24-pages, full color, four-issue monthly limited series --
$3.50

"I think the quality of creators at Alias is top notch and the
product they are putting on the shelves is a dynamic departure
from a lot of stuff that is currently out there. I submitted
REVERE to Alias in December of 2005; I think I heard back from
them the next day! With that level of enthusiasm, why would I go
anywhere else? They have been great to work with," added
Lavallee.

REVERE (order code: AP062862) is on sale now as a spotlight item
in the April issue of Previews catalog for release in June 2006!
Relive this fictional retelling of American history in 24 full-
color pages for only $3.50!

Be sure you visit your local comic shop to find REVERE and other
great comics from Alias Comics, and visit Alias online at

audiences."

Marvel Comics are currently published through Panini in 22
different languages and 34 countries (which will become 37 in the
