"Hypotheticals reaches the parts other convention panels aren't
old enough to think about. Shocking truths, equally shocking lies
and a chaser of cracking jokes make for a heady brew that's three
parts comics' Question Time and two parts comics' Jackanory, as
presented by Zippy and Bungle."

The Virtual Bristol Anthology goes from strength to strength,
updated each week with more pages from creators at the Expo
(including Sean Phillips' book of life drawings, Half Life),
there's detailed information in the next section, or you can just
hit this link http://www.engine4.net/bristolpreview/ to check
them all out.

Silver Bullets Comics (www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com) have a
table for fifth successive year, and once again will be bringing
along a set of "Officially Cheaper Than Amazon!" books and
comics, but with only one copy of each - once they've gone,
they've gone.  It's the table the retailers shop at too...
This year SBC are hosting two special guests - on Saturday it's
Trevor Lee Landolt providing con attendees with their very first
glimpse of new publisher Praxis Comics' range of books, giving
away posters, badges, and...well, we'll see.   On Sunday we are
very proud to have Alex CF
(http://www.myspace.com/chronic_fatigue and
www.manydeadthings.com) showcasing his fabulously macabre books
and...action figures?  These have got to be seen to be believed...

"Appearing on Hypotheticals will guarantee you free drinks for
the rest of the convention. Well, it did in my case!"
- Chris Weston

"The Bart Dickon Omnibus" will be available from the smallzone
table, described as being a surrealist graphic novel for grown-
ups, and illustrated throughout in collage comic-strip style, the
book's central graphic novella: 'A Severed Head' sees our hero
Bart Dickon (the ideologically-sound secret agent) intrepidly
involved in derring-do. This latter day Odyssey follows him from
procreation, via birth, schooldays and an Apprenticeship In The
University Of Life, to his ultimate vocation as 'The English
Assassin', pith helmet-wearing conqueror of something-or-other
and subversive spy in a world of wickedness and treachery. Wildly
funny, wildly unlikely and unique in its combination of
intertwining language and image. Supported by other strips, a
short story and more. Parts of the book have appeared in episodic
form in 'The Chap' magazine. Borin's work continues in 'The
Chap'. The Bart Dickon website (www.bartdickonline.co.uk) has
much more information about the project, sample pages and links
to Bart Mart for Bart Dickon gifts.

Final Issue of Marvel Zombies Sells Out
The concluding issue of the surprise success Marvel
Zombies has sold out at Diamond and to the satisfaction of many,
Marvel is going back to press on Marvel Zombies #5 with an all-
new variant cover by Arthur Suydam.
This latest Zombie variant by Suydam is a undead homage

Fans and critics cannot get enough of Kirkman's and
Phillips disturbed story or Suydam's chilling covers.
Phil Hunn of Comixfan.com says "Robert Kirkman can write
zombies like nobody except George Romero, and if you're not
aboard the zombie gravy train...you're really missing out."
Troy Brownfield of Newsarama.com says, "The final issue of one of
the best mini-series I have read in quite a few years.  Not only
do the covers of this series make the price of admission
worthwhile, it's the story and art inside that really elevates
this series into the stratosphere, literally and figuratively."
Marvel Zombies #5 may signify the end of an incredibly successful
series, but don't forget to see how the series ties back to the

HOUSE OF IDEAS TO FANS: MORE MARVEL DIGITAL COMICS ARE HERE!

After an enthusiastic response to their inaugural launch of
digital comics, industry leader Marvel Comics is proud to
announce the debut of several new releases on Marvel.com.
The books that can now be viewed digitally on the company's
website are WOLVERINE #20, RUNAWAYS v2 #7, NEW THUNDERBOLTS #1,
DEFENDERS #1 (modern series), BLACK PANTHER #1 (1977), NEW X-MEN
#20, ULTIMATE VISION (part 1), ULTIMATE NIGHTMARE (first issue),
CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS #1 (1982), ETERNALS #1 (1976), MARVEL TEAM-
UP #15, SAVAGE SHE-HULK #1 (1980), SHE-HULK vol. 2 #1, and
UNCANNY X-MEN #466.

The initial test launch of digital comics in late 2005 scored
hits far beyond expectations. Now, Marvel is meeting the reader
demand for more digital comics with these additions to
Marvel.com.

"We are extremely excited about the fan response to our new
digital comics", says John Dokes, Marvel VP of Marketing and
Business Development. "Our digital comics are not only great for
our traditional comic fans but they are a great way to convert
the swell of readers coming to our site for movie and game
information into comic fans."

David Gabriel, VP of Sales went on to say "I was certainly
pleased to see the research show that 82% of digital comic
readers are more likely to purchase our books from the comic
stores."  He continued, "We're making it easier for them by
showing the related trade and the comic store locator information
on the opening page" (see below)

"This is a symbiotic relationship, between the online landscape
and the brick-and-mortar retail world", adds Dokes. "Bottom line
is more fans in comic shops, more sales of trades, healthier
industry overall."

Readers are invited to log onto Marvel.com, click on "Digital
Comics", and see the beauty of the system for themselves. There
are currently over two dozen books from a wide variety of titles
to choose from.
