t's been a horrible couple of weeks for public schools, with fatal shootings in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Wisconsin. We've also heard stories of teachers sexually abusing their students. It's all got parents questioning the safety of public schools, and taking a closer look at homeschooling.
Six-year-old Jack Blackburn sits at his kitchen playing with his blocks. This is just another part of his school day. He and his brother, Marcus, are homeschooled by their mother, Nikki Blackburn.
"We've been toying with physics lately," said Blackburn. "We've built mouse trap cars, we have been talking about simple machines and how they work." When it comes to home schooling the social skills is a topic that is of primary importance. Many people think that in home schooling the children is deprived of any social interactions or interaction with other children leading to less growth and development. But this is nothing more than a myth in the real world and this has been proven by studies.
There are children who studying in the schools with all modern techniques but lacks confidence and cannot even talk properly. More than enough competition in schools results in the lack of interest of children in conversation and interaction with other people. Such children are usually frustrated and sometimes talk rudely with elders.
On the other hand the children who take home schooling are aware of their learning purpose and can observe many things better than a child from a good school. We all know that children learn from what they see, therefore in home schooling the children learns many qualities from their parents. This also saves them from learning bad habits from other children.
Children who are taught at home schooling are therefore better prepared to face the world and its problems. Home schooled children have strong self esteem as they grow up in a positive environment and not in the over competitive or stressful life of the public schools. Moreover children are more knowledgeable about their culture and home traditions while they learn their schooling at home.

Use round cardboard pizza bottoms from frozen pizza to create perfect mobile projects with your kids. You can cover the pizza plate with foil or construction paper. Punch holes around the outside of the circle then attach strings and mobile objects. Staple a loop of string or yarn on top and hang up.
