The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is one of the largest of its kind and includes more than 40 works of art, including the famed Spoonbridge & Cherry.

Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum 612-625-9494

The Museum lives in a stainless steel building and features early American 20th century works by Georgia O'Keefe, Alfred Maurer and Marsden Hartley.

Stone Arch Bridge 612-627-5433

Stroll along the Stone Arch Bridge, the only of its kind to span the Mississippi River, to enjoy St. Anthony Falls. As part of the St. Anthony Falls Heritage Trail, this pedestrian crossing is the oldest mainline railroad bridge in the Northwest.

The most famous and largest mall in the country houses an astonishing 520 stores, an entire level of bars and restaurants, a 1.2 million gallon walk-through aquarium and an amusement park. Just so you know -- there's no sales tax on clothing in Minnesota.

Skyways

The future is here -- almost. One floor above the ground, a 7-mile skyway system links most of downtown Minneapolis together (in climate-controlled bliss) by enclosed walkways.

The first skyscraper to be built west of the Mississippi and Minneapolis' tallest building (until 1971), the Foshay Tower was intended to be a tribute to the Washington Monument.

The Chain of Lakes byway district is 13.3 miles long connecting Cedar Lake, Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles. Nearby is a Bird Sanctuary, Rose Gardens and Peace Gardens.
