Good morning! It's a hot & humid day today, which means that new trees will be giving up a lot of moisture to the air. Please head out and check the moisture level in the soil near your trees that were planted within the last 24 months. If they're less than moist at 3-4" below the surface, give them a good amount of water. It can mean the difference between thriving and struggling. For your best watering methods, please refer to your care sheet or view them online here: http://www.trimpines.com/LandscapeTips/#watering Yep, I've seen the rain in today's forecast. Please remember that rain and lawn sprinklers aren't reliable sources of water for newly-planted trees. But they can sometimes leave the soil moist in the top inch. So it's important to check the soil moisture at 4-6" deep. If you can squeeze the soil into a ball, it may be moist enough for our hot, hot day. If it crumbles,be sure to give them a boost. This can all be done late afternoon to evening, if necessary. But - we'd like to see the water get in the soil early, rather than late. So even if you're out & about - if there's someone at home that can take care of it for you, please recruit them. Your trees will thank you for it! If you have any questions, please give us a call at 810-694-9958 Thanks - enjoy your day! Christina Yancho Trim Pines Farm, Inc. 810-694-9958 |
