| Raising
awareness and providing education of this dangerous activity, commonly known as the 'Choking Game' or Self-Induced Euphoric Asphyxiation is of the utmost importance and a mission of The DB Foundation. Several avenues have proven fruitful in raising awareness and we actively pursue them. Additionally, collaboration with like minded organizations and private persons continues to expedite information being relayed to the general public. We have shorten the Foundation's working name from 'Dylan Blake' to 'DB' standing for 'Dangerous Behaviors'. So from this point forward we will be referring to it as 'The DB Foundation'. As it is no longer about one person but about all the dangerous behaviors our youth may come across on thier travels
to adulthood. New Website http://www.ChokingGame.net | | Raising Awareness for the Dangers of the Choking Game Updates |
| On-going newscasts, and incidences continue to release information to the general population. Yet, youth continue to be injured, and in worse cases, meet their demise by participating in this adolescent sensation seeking activity. Education obviously has not yet become widespread
beyond a reactive response. Although, there are communities taking a proactive, preventative approach to education. These communities should be held as examples, both neighboring and nationwide, for their commitment in protecting our children. On-Going Projects: The Petition to "Educate on the DANGERS of the Choking Game" The petition has been well received (with over 3500 signatures) and continues to gather signatures toward reaching our
goal of having the D.A.R.E. Program and individual Middle/ High School Health Programs incorporate asphyxia activity (aka The Choking Game) into the current curriculums. You can also print out a copy of the petition and gather signatures of those who are not able to sign online. Click here to Print a Petition Surveys: (click on the link to be brought directly to the survey) "General Knowledge Survey" Everyone, please take 2 minutes and complete a survey about what you know about the Choking Game. "Victim's Report Survey" is specifically for victims or the families of victims to gather data on the details of the incident to find commonalities among participants. New Advocates: We welcome new advocates and look forward to working with each of you to reach the goal of raising awareness
within communities. Andrea Crowell Stephanie Tsepas Both of N.H have recently teamed with the DB Foundation and are well on the way to becoming presenters - thank you ladies!
Concerns: YouTube.com and Myspace.com videos: There has been serious concern regarding
children accessing instruction on how to 'play' the Choking Game via the videos on these websites. We have contacted both websites and they do not monitor the videos. What you can do to help? To protect your own children: Check the History on the computer your child uses for YouTube.com and/or MySpace.com pages containing tags of "choke out"; "passout"; "sleeper hold";"choking game";"twitching game". If you find sites - your child most likely has seen a video of people participating in asphyxiation. To remove the videos from the Internet: Using the search feature of these websites, enter "choking game";"choke out";"pass out game";"fainting" (and any similar keywords) when you find a video containing asphyxiation activity mark it as inappropriate. The administrators will then delete the video and occassionally will ban the poster of the video.
