Article: Manifestation 101 & Taking Likely Action Well, I had a number of ideas for articles this month - or rather was given great ideas from the unseen creative powers. But, I'm not going to use them. At least not this month. Instead, by request, I am again reprinting the four-step Law of Attraction manifestation process that I first published a few years ago – prior to “the Secret.” Even if you have been a subscriber for sometime and read it before, I am confident that it will be a great reminder. So, here it is - the four-step process for manifesting what you really want (and yes, it works for money - I have successfully used it for that. To be honest, it kind of freaked me out when I did so. I mean, I intellectually knew it would work, but.) 1. Create It 2. Clear It 3. Live It 4. Let Go There you have it. Enjoy! Happy manifesting! Oh, all right - I'll go into a little more detail. Step One: Create It First, decide what you really want. Is it a new house, car or job? Is it a special someone? Write it down. Start with something like: "I am so happy! I have." Then list the qualities and features of what it is you want. It's important that you write it in the present. If you write "I want this," then you are vibrating at a frequency of want - and the wanting of it is what you will continue to attract. You want to be vibrating in harmony with already having it. Write positive things, always the features the objective has, rather than what it doesn't have. If you write, "My new boyfriend isn't a loser," you are putting "loser" vibrations into the ether. I feel compelled to discourage that. Rather than asking for money, focus on what you want to have. The $1200 didn't come because I asked for the money - I focused on the trip I wanted to take, which I estimated to cost about that much. And, don't limit the Universe by saying it has to be paid for in cash. If you want a new car - focus on the car. The money might show up, but you might also win the car. Once you've given the parameters of what you want, write at the end, "This, or something better - for the highest good of all concerned." Give the Universe an opportunity to give you something better and/or more appropriate - it knows better than we do. Step Two: Clear It Here's where EFT come into play. Too often, we are sending out contradictory energy, keeping what we consciously say we want at a distant from ourselves. Imaging going into a restaurant and ordering a hamburger. As the server walks away, you say, "Hmmm... I really shouldn't have that. Maybe I should order a salad." Then you think some more and say, "Hey - a chicken sandwich probably is what I should have!" The server stands there waiting for you to make up your mind, and you wonder why you don't have your hamburger yet. Clear any contradictory thoughts. The Universe picks up on them all. The biggest, in my experience, is: "I don't deserve to have this." Tap on it, or use whatever other tools you might have for releasing blocks to your success. You also want to be clear on your intentions. If you have doubts about your motives, you will either block the attainment of your objective, or limit your ability to receive it in a joyful manner. Make sure you want it for the right reasons (and only you can decide what is right for you.) Keep at this until you can think about the successful attainment of your objective without feeling any resistance. Step Three: Live It Now that you can think about the successful attainment of your objective without feeling any resistance - do so. Really think about having it - and allow yourself to enjoy that. Indulge in all the positive feelings you expect to experience while enjoying this thing in your life. Really feel how good it feels. Now would be a good time to tap yourself into trance and visualize yourself really enjoying your objective. As you do so, allow the positive feelings to wash over you and through you - feeling good in every muscle, nerve, fiber, tissue, cell and atom of your body. Do this once a day - a daily reminder of what you are up to. Another great way to do this step is with a partner. Tell them, "I have this new _____ in my life - and I'm so happy!" Again, in the present and in positive terms. Your partner says, "That's great - tell me more!" And you do - and they ask for more - and so on. Keep repeating this as you joyfully share your happy situation and both of you feed each other's excitement - building the vibrational energy. And remember - turn about is fair play. Let them get excited sharing something with you, too. Step Four: Let Go I also call this "Let Go and Let God." You need to be unattached to the outcome. Otherwise, you might start clenching your energy, asking "Where is it?" Not great attracting energy. A farmer doesn't plant a seed, then stare at it in frustration hoping for it to grow. He does what he can to nurture it, but otherwise leaves it to nature to do what it does. Also, you don't want to be attached to how it happens. You might be staring at a door waiting for that someone to walk in, and completely miss them because they came through the side door. Now, this doesn't mean you don't take action. Do what you can - let the Universe know you are serious about making things happen. Just don't be surprised if the manifestation comes in a way that doesn't seem to be directly related to what you are doing. Tapping can be very helpful with this step, too. "Even though I feel I HAVE TO HAVE THIS NOW!!!." Let that go. If you've created your vision, cleared all internal objections to it, allowed yourself to experience living it and really feel how great it would be to have it - and it still isn't showing up - then you need to trust that maybe it really isn't in your best interest to have this objective at present. But, "God's delays are not God's denials." More often than not, there's more clearing work to do. Abundance just is. It is all around. The extent to which we are not experiencing it is the extent to which we are resisting it. Stop resisting it. Manifest it. You deserve it. Oh, wait…! After “The Secret” came out, there was some criticism about “wishful thinking,” and a number of the experts from that film started talking about the need to also take action. So, I decided to add a fifth step to Manifestation 101 – Taking Likely Action. Actually, it wasn’t new – this is an article I wrote back in ’04 – and it seems fitting to include it now. Enjoy. Likely Action What ever did we do before Mapquest…? Now, when I have a destination in mind, I can type it in and be told the best course to take, and how long it will take, and even get suggestions of restaurants along the way. Before this, I had to figure it out for myself. I’d look at maps, and wonder which road was best. Sometimes I could add hours to a trip just in the planning stages – wondering the right thing to do. I didn’t want to start until I knew I was going to do it right. Ever done that? Ever done that in other areas of your life…? We had a saying in hypnotherapy school: Perfectionism leads to Procrastination leads to Paralysis. It’s always funny to hear people who are paralyzed say with a certain amount of pride that they are perfectionists. As though they are saying, “I am THAT good.” Maybe. But they are also often THAT stuck. Hardly a bragging point. We all have wants and desires, hopes and dreams. And things we want to do that could make a wonderful difference in our lives and the lives of others. But, too often, we don’t take action because we demand knowledge of the right way to do it. This is what Mike Dooley calls the “cursed hows.” We want to know how it is going to happen. Silly us. The Universe has many ways of making something happen – and yet we routinely limit ourselves to what we can think up on our own. Our job is to decide what we want, and focus on that in a positive way. Not to figure out how it is going to happen. That’s the Universe’s job. But… This doesn’t mean we sit like a lump waiting for payday. Many of us are familiar with the legend of Lana Turner – sitting innocently at a soda fountain when a producer discovered her and turned her into a star. In my Hollywood days, I apparently thought I was so much better than Miss Turner that I would be discovered in my apartment. Didn’t happen. We need to be out there taking action. So, then we get stuck in that original question: which is the right action to take? Don’t get hung up on that. As one of Mike Litman’s mentors put it, “You don’t have to get it right – you just have to get it going.” So, instead of waiting until you know the right action, take a likely action. That is, an action that is likely to move you toward your goal. If your goal is to lose weight, a likely action would be to join a gym. Signing up for the “Ice Cream of the Month” club would not. If you lived on the coast of California, and wanted to go skiing in Wyoming, chartering a fishing boat would not be a likely action. Going on Mapquest would. There are many other actions you could take. Many would be better. You may not be in a place to come up with the best plan of action. But you can certainly come up with lots of likely plans of action. Act on one of them. When thinking of your goal, ask yourself: “What could I do that might get me there?” No need to censor yourself – let the ideas flow, and ask of each, “Is this likely to move me in the right direction?” Then choose one and begin. Sure – you might make a mistake, and there may be consequences for that. You don’t have to be married to an idea – you can change strategies along the way. But there is a definite consequence for not taking action: you stay stuck. If you insist on waiting for the best action, the snow may be melted by the time you get to Jackson Hole. Decide what you want. Be clear. Then take likely action. That’s how the Universe knows you are serious about your intention. If you aren’t willing to move on it, the Universe may consider it just one of countless whims. Show your commitment to your objective by getting going. And don’t be surprised as better ways to do it “magically” show up along the way. Now...what are you waiting for…? Get going! Tapping Transcription: Resisting the Work (Side of the Hand) Even though I’m resisting the work, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, Even though I’m resisting the work, I deeply and completely love and forgive myself, Even though I’m resisting the work, Either I forget to do it, Or I make it so difficult, That I have an excuse for not doing it, All I been asked to do, Is take a moment here and there, To think about something that would really give me pleasure, And it shouldn’t be that hard, should it? And the reason I’m making it hard, May well be, That I’m afraid of having what I say I want, So this is a good thing, As it’s pointing out to me, Where I have some resistance, And I choose to clear all this resistance, And even though I have this resistance, I deeply and completely, Love and forgive and accept myself, And anyone else, Who is making this difficult. (EyeBrow Point) All this resistance to doing the work, (Side of the Eye) All this resistance to doing the work, (Under the Eye) All this resistance to doing the work, (Under the Nose) All this resistance to doing the work, (Under the Mouth) All this fear, (CollarBone Point) It seems to me, (Under the Breast) That some part of me, (Under the Arm) Is really afraid, (Top of the Head) Of getting what I say I want, (EB) And if that’s the case, (SE) It makes sense, (UE) That I’m gonna’ block myself, (UN) From doing anything, (UM) That’s gonna’ help me get it, (CB) Any of these exercises, (UB) Any daily tapping, (UA) Maybe even just getting on this call, (TH) It makes me wonder, (EB) If I had trouble getting on the call, (SE) What kinda’ resistance is coming up there? (UE) All this resistance, (UN) All this fear, (UM) All this resistance, (CB) All this fear, (UB) Why can’t I let it be easy? (UA) Why can’t I just let it be easy? (TH) It shouldn’t be so hard, (EB) To focus on something that feels good, (SE) Especially for just a moment, (UE) Why is some part of me? (UN) Making that so difficult, (UM) Why is it making it so hard? (CB) Why am I getting distracted? (UB) Why am I forgetting to do it? UA) Why am I resisting success so much? (TH) Why am I resisting abundance so much? (EB) Why am I resisting joy so much? (SE) Is it so much to ask? (UE) That I’d take a few minutes a day, (UN) To have very joyful fantasies, (UM) To think of something I like, (CB) And to feel good about it, (UB) Is that so much to ask? (UA) Part of me thinks so, (TH) I wonder when I decided, (EB) That it was unsafe to do this, (SE) At some point, (UE) I made that decision, (UN) Maybe as a child, (UM) Some well-meaning adult, (CB) Told me not to get my hopes up, (UB) And when I do this positive imagining, (UA) It’s too much like getting my hopes up, (TH) And I learned long ago, (EB) That I shouldn’t do that, (SE) I shouldn’t get my hopes up, (UE) I shouldn’t get my hopes up, (UN) I shouldn’t get my hopes up, (UM) Who said that to me, (CB) Whoever said it, (UB) They meant well, (UA) But they were mistaken, (TH) It wasn’t their fault, (EB) They’d been told the same thing, (SE) They’d been told the same thing, (UE) Thank goodness, (UN) Not everyone has that message, (UM) Just imagine, (CB) If the Wright brothers, (UB) Hadn’t gotten their hopes up, (UA) What would have happened, (TH) If someone had said, (EB) To Mahatma Gandhi, (SE) Uh, “Don’t get your hopes up,” (UE) Thank God, (UN) For people with high hopes, (UM) It’s what makes the world go round, (CB) I choose to have high hopes, (UB) And sometimes, (UA) I may experience disappointment, (TH) The Wright Brothers first plane didn’t fly, (EB) India didn’t gain its’ freedom in a day, (SE) Some things take time, (UE) I’m willing to take that time, (UN) I’m willing to know, (UM) Anything I choose to create, (CB) Is worthwhile, (UB) And I deserve it, (UA) I deserve it, (TH) I deserve to have high hopes, (EB) I deserve to think about these things, (SE) I deserve to have it be easy, (UE) And so does the rest of the world, (UN) ‘Cause as I create my success, (UM) Other people benefit from it, (CB) Just as they did from the Wright brothers, (UB) As they did from Gandhi, (UA) As they did from so many other people, (TH) Who had high hopes, (EB) What if someone had said, (SE) To Annie Sullivan, (UE) “Don’t get your hopes up,” (UN) And she hadn’t worked with Helen Keller, (UM) Whose been such an inspiration, (CB) And has come back from such handicaps, (UB) She overcame so much, (UA) Thank God she wasn’t told, (TH) Not to get her hopes up, (EB) Or even if she was, (SE) She didn’t learn that lesson, (UE) If I learned it before, (UN) I choose to un-learn it now, (UM) I am getting my hopes up, (CB) It is OK to dream, (UB) I deserve to dream, (UA) I deserve to dream, (TH) I deserve to dream, (EB) I deserve to take the time, (SE) To do things that are good for me, (UE) Even if it’s just a couple of minutes, (UN) Of focusing on good feelings, (UM) I choose to let go, (CB) Of any fear about that, (UB) Letting go of any of the old fear, (UA) Letting go of my fear of being disappointed, (TH) Letting go of my fear of being disappointed, (EB) Letting go of my fear of getting my hopes up, (SE) Letting go of my fear of being successful, (UE) Letting go of my fear of having abundance, (UN) Letting go of all this fear, (UM) As much of it as I can right now, (CB) And allowing myself to continue to clear it, (UB) Allowing myself to continue to see what I want, (UA) To imagine that I already have it, (TH) And joyfully letting myself feel that good. The manifestation steps are: Create It Clear It Live It Let Go (& Let God) Get Movin’ (aka Take Likely Action) To go along with that, here is a collection of affirmations from abundance experts John Randolph Price and Catherine Ponder. I recommend you print these out and post them where you will read them each morning. Nothing is too good to be true. Nothing is too wonderful to happen. Nothing is too good to last. My conscious awareness of the Divine Presence as my supply is my supply. I am now consciously aware of the indwelling fountain of overflowing abundance. Therefore, I AM abundant supply. My consciousness is the very energy of money. I AM the Spirit of Infinite Plenty. I am boundless abundance, and with love in my heart, I let the universal riches stream forth into perfect manifestation. What is expressed in love must be returned in full measure. Therefore, wave after wave of visible money supply flows to me now. I am wonderfully rich in consciousness, and I am bountifully supplied with money. I now realize my plan for abundant living. There is always an abundance of money, and I now let it come to me. I am open to receive. I cannot be limited, for I am the Shining Sun of Supply, and God’s wealth fills my world. I am receiving. I am receiving now. I am receiving all the wealth that the universe has for me now. I do not depend on persons or conditions for my good. God is the source of my supply and God provides his own amazing channels of good to me now. All that is mine by divine right now comes to me speedily, richly, freely and easily. I am receiving now. It is finished. It is done. I give thanks that I have received, and that my good appears in rich appropriate form under divine timing.
